Happy last day of May!

Crazy here this morning since my son stopped home last night to get, what else? Some cash and food! Actually, he is moving to a new apartment today and needed some boxes and such, the cash and food are just a given!

An up date on Danny... his short term memory is still very shaky. He is remembering bits and pieces of what happened. They did not want anyone to tell him what happened as the police have been there daily to question him to get his side of the story and didn't want it influenced by anyone else. He is awake and being Danny! Saying he is hungry and wants some mashed potatoes! His jaw is wired so eating is very limited. He is actually 36 which I was shocked at since it seems like not too long ago he was graduating high school! Gosh, the years just really do fly by! Thought he was much younger! They have arrested 2 girls and 2 more arrests are pending. One girl is 18 and she is charged with numerous charges and is in jail. The other girl is 17 and again with several charges but is out on bail. In total they assaulted 3 people and attempted to steal a car. It is said that one of the guys involved was to leave for Iraq on this past Tuesday. I really don't know if it is true. Find it a little hard to believe that some one who has survived boot camp and military life would be a party to this but if it is true, maybe that is what would be good for him. Really don't think anyone gets much rehab in prison and maybe the realities of fighting in a war will give him a new perception on the value of life. I look at my kids and thank God!

I had thought that yesterday was Thursday, so actually my friend goes for her biopsy this morning but I did talk to her yesterday. They are also having their dog put down today...it just never seems to end for her. But their poor old dog is 14 years old and has been diabetic for many years. Blind, deaf and arthritis so he is really suffering. And, her son has relapsed and will be going back into rehab this week. It doesn't rain but it pours!

That's about it...so keep the prayers coming.

So, more of the kit???? Today is kind of a mix of stuff. Overlays, word art, corners...

Hello! Hello!

Good morning, good morning!

Sorry about the link mix up yesterday...that part was my fault but the other stuff...geez, was blogger having a bad day? Actually, Blogger shut me down twice while trying to post yesterday so maybe the had the hiccups!

My girlfriend goes for her biopsy today. Her hubby is going with her. She talked to the surgeon Friday and he said that even if malignant, it appeared to be well capsulated, wasn't in her lymph nodes so that is encouraging. She is supposed to call me when she gets home. She is so appreciative of your prayers and was overwhelmed that people she didn't even know would do that so thank you very much!

Have not heard from Betty lately...will have to drop her a line. But the last I heard she was doing as well as expected with going through what she is.

Yes, Jess' tat is on her lower back. She keeps looking at it in the mirror. I think she is still in shock that she actually did it! This is a girl that I would almost have to drag to the doctor if she was to get a shot! Here it is but it is a little hard to see with all the goop on it! And the other pic is the tat her friend got on her wrist. For the life on me I cannot remember the artist's name but she absolutely loves his work and was a big influence on her going into graphic arts!

The day we went for lunch we had gone to the mall and went into the BuildaBear Shop. We are Red Sox fans and when Jess spotted a pink Red Sox hat and shirt for there she just had to get them for Bonnie. Doesn't she just look thrilled!

Love how in the background is my messy kitchen with the cabinets that are in stages of being taken down! This kitchen remodel is about 5 years in the doing! Every time we think we are on the home stretch where we can get the new cabinets and put them in, we find something else like the plumbing or electrical that needs work and it usually extends further that the kitchen! Gotta love these old houses!

Enough chatter...today I have some frames for you! I really like how these turned out...hope you do too!

Well, gotta go. Some roses that my Mom ordered came yesterday so I guess I know what I am going to be doing today!

Lazy day after a long weekend...

Good day, my friends. So glad you like my little angel. I used to do a lot of decorative painting and wanted to see if I could recreate something digitally. When I did, then I had to try to work it into a kit somehow!

No new news on Danny which I am taking as a good sign. I am sure we would have heard something if things had taken a turn for the worse.

Gee, no parade this year but there just wasn't time. I usually get to at least one! But we did BBQ some chicken last night and "dined " outside which was very nice and relaxing. Need to get outside today and get some more pics since my roses were about ready to pop! I only have 3 rosebushes but they look really healthy this year so I am pleased! Also, picked up some annuals that I need to get in the ground! And some herbs that I need to find a home for! A woman's work is NEVER done!

DD is healing pretty well...somewhat of a challenge this morning getting ready for work with the plastic wrap but we managed. DH is slowly recovering from his daughter's virgin skin being permanently marred! I just keep saying...if this is the craziest thing she ever does, I think we can consider ourselves lucky! Plus, I like it so he really gets a deaf sounding board from me! Now DS is itching to get one! I asked that he wait awhile and let his father get over this shock before we hit him with another! We took some pics last night but being in a lazy state of mind, haven't downloaded them off the camera yet so I will show you the design that we had made up.
She loves claddaghs and the fact that she is Irish (and Italian, Polish, French, German and English...got a League of Nations going on in this house!). Other than the shading on the heart being a little different, her tattoo looks just like it. The girl that did it did a beautiful job. She has been tattoing since she was 14! Her father owned the business and she just grew up in it. She has tats all over which I don't like but, heh, to each his own. Each one is beaustiful but just too many for me.

Today, I have the paper pack for you.

An UPDATE and a NEW kit!

Thank you all so much for all your prayers for Danny...they must have been heard because we had encouraging news this morning. He spent most of the day yesterday in surgery. They relieved the pressure, repaired as much of his face that they could, repaired the broken knee cap and collarbone but kept him in an induced coma. This morning they woke him up and he was answering questions accurately so they are hopeful that he will make a "good" recovery. But, they have still cautioned his family that he is far from being out of the woods yet. The police have arrested the girl, (17 years old!) and one of the guys (no age on him yet) and have charged them with assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. The girl actually has been charged twice since she also hit that other person with a brick. Seventeen and she has basically thrown her life away!

We have all been trying to just keep busy because if we don't, well, I just find myself wavering between being intensely angry to crying! DH has been doing yard work and power washing the house like a maniac, the neighbors have been doing much of the same. My daughter and I took off again yesterday and she and her friend went and got their tattoos! It is a little bigger than I thought but it is beautiful. I will post a pic when I get one that looks a little better than it does now! DH is NOT pleased...he did not think it was something she should do and did not think it was going to be as big as it is but, heh, it is her life and her body!

I have a new kit for you. This is something that I have been working on for some time. Started off with a "drawing" that I did of the angel when I was just playing around and then has grown from there. It is a very feminine, girly kit (sorry, if you have boys but....) but I think parts of it can be used even if you do not have a baby girl to scrap!

I am going to start you off with some quickpages to give you an idea of what is in the kit so far....

Thank you all so much for all that you do...you mean the world to me!

Good Morning...

First an update on our neighbor. He is in a coma. He is scheduled for surgery today to help relieve some of the pressure to his brain. All of his injuries were to the face and head. The doctors say that there is very little bone that is not shattered. Needless to say, he is still in very critical condition. The family has been told that they have arrested the girl. Apparently, about an hour before this happened, she had thrown a brick at someone and hit them in the head. We are still all in shock but are banding together and have all agreed that we need to take some steps to reclaim our neighborhood. I think the police will get tired of getting phone calls from us but hopefully some good will come of it. If not, we will be camped out at the mayor's office and will start attending the alderman's meetings.

I was brought up to believe that there is good and bad in everything. My grandmother used to say, "God's flowers come in all colors but then, so does garbage so don't judge until you get close enough to tell how it smells." It is not smelling too good around here lately.

I do have a little something for you today. A MiniSampler for the boys, or men in your life or even those denim loving girls! You get the kit and a quickpage. The kit includes the denim background, a worn out piece of burlap, 2 leather tags, rawhide embellishments, a safety pin and shadowed photo edge.
Download no longer available...sorry!
I hope you enjoy. Please have a safe and enjoyable holiday and please continue to pray for Danny.

What is happening to this world?

Our neighborhood is a quiet one for the most part. We all know one another and although we are not real close, in need, everyone pitches in. We stop and chat when out walking the dogs, lean over the fence when out doing yard work, shovel each other's sidewalks in the snow. Everyone keeps their yard and houses nice. We have our own parties but we are respectful of each other. If we know it is a real special occasion, we tolerate it being a little nosier or later than usual. Generally just a nice neighborhood...or it was.

Several houses on the street have been sold and have been turned into rental properties and have not attracted the most desirable people. Today, being a holiday weekend there were 2 big parties going on...no biggie...it's a holiday...celebrate! Have some fun! But, I live on a one way street, parking on one side only. Not today...people were parked like it was a parking lot. Still no biggie... a car could squeeze through carefully. The neighbors we know were all outside, chatting...lots to catch up on since we tend to hibernate when its cold. Towards evening we were getting a little tired of all the motorcycles and cars pulling holeshots down the street and the noise but it was still early so not much we could do about it. The cops had already been called several times during the day about it. The later it got, the worse it got. It was like we were having a block party that none of us had been invited to! Very drunk people walking all over the place, in every one's yards, foul language (and I am not a prude but it was even repulsive to me!), speeding cars and very loud chopper type bikes! Around 11:30 we heard someone really burning some rubber and then a lot of screaming and shouting. One of our neighbors was being attacked by 3 guys and a girl with a baseball bat! He had asked this group who was walking in front of his house if they knew who's car that was and apparently, they didn't think he had a right to know, words were exchanged and then they jumped him and his sister. When other neighbors started to come out, they ran off leaving him there.

We do not know if he is going to make it. His head was swollen almost immediately to twice its size, a portion of his skull was missing. They took him to Yale Trauma Center and the last word we had was that they had given him last rites and were talking to the family.

There were about 6 police cars that responded and they could get through the street but the ambulance could not. The people from theses parties were all milling around wondering what was going on but not doing anything about moving cars so that the ambulance could get down to where our neighbor was and then gave the cops a hard time when they were told to move the cars! Even with all the cops there, the parties went on in full volume and recklessness. I could not believe how callous and STUPID these people were! It was well after 1AM when the cops went to the 2 houses and told them to break it up. They were still talking to the people who had witnessed the attack...the parties never even paused! They went back to the houses after 2AM and told them again to break it up and then the "fun" really started. One after another the cars and bikes have been screeching down the street (still are as I type this) and all we have heard for over an hour is sirens!

What is wrong with people? When did we get so inconsiderate and self absorbed? We have little kids on this street and it is nothing to have cars going 50mph down it and a lot of the time..going the wrong way at that speed. There is no respect for each other, no respect for someone who is injured, no respect for the police or paramedics...I just could not believe what I was hearing coming out of these people's mouths! One guy actually told the cop that if he wanted the car moved to move it himself. He changed his mind when the cop turned to another cop and told him to get the car and ram it out of the way! Then this moron asked..."well, where can I park it? There aren't any spaces?" I give theses cops tonight a lot of credit...I think I would have taken my gun out and shot a few people! The whole scene was surreal!

The police thought they know who the girl was and someone said that they already had arrested her. From what the sister said she weighed about 400 lbs. so apparently she could not run very fast! I hope the get them all and lock them up until they are too old and senile to be a danger to anyone! Our neighbor is a "kid" about 27 years old who has turned his life around. He had just been in our garage earlier in the evening talking to my DH about his 2 little kids and how things were going good. He is one of the people that you just can't help liking. It is just unbelievable that in just a few moments something like this can happen in a "quiet" neighborhood. His parents were not even home when this all happened. My husband called them and told them to get right to Yale. Please, take a minute and say a prayer for him and his family.

Heh! It's my Birthday!

Thank you all for the get well wishes...they must have worked because I feel so much better today! Doesn't it just figure while we are having hot weather, I would get sick with a temperature so I could be even hotter! (Linda, that card was so cute...thanks a bunch!)

Guess what today is??? My birthday! We won't go into age here, suffice to say...OLD! I couldn't think of anyway to celebrate it...was going to give something away for free but...gee, already do that! LOL! My daughter's old college roommate's birthday is also today so she and I drove up to their area about and hour away and went out to lunch with her and her mother, who I never had met. We had such a good time and had the most delicious drink...a frozen almond joy! Yum! Seemed weird to be having a drink with my daughter and her friends but I got over it real quick! Tomorrow, the family are all going out to dinner so no big celebration but that's just the way I like it. I hate to be the center of attention! Got the shock of a life time this morning when my DH called after we were already on the road and said, "I forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday!" The first year we were together, my birthday fell right on Memorial Day and we had gone to a parade. So, he knows that my birthday is near some day that they usually have a parade! One year, my birthday came and went without a word from him but on July 4th, he gave me a card and took me out to dinner! DUH! Well, I guess the thought was there. It about killed me for almost 2 months not to say something to him but I wanted to see just how long it would take him to remember that he had forgotten! The kicker is that he was just so proud of himself like he had done such a good thing! I almost didn't have the heart to tell him that my birthday was NOT the 4th of July! BUT, I did!

Heh! Did you check out Candee's blog? She's got an Amber Waves of Grain Kit that would go so nicely with Old Glory! While you are there, please read her post about Memorial Day! I love reading her blog...she really has a gift for provoking thoughts! She seems to be able to sum up how I feel about things in a way that I would never be able to do! HUGS..Candee!

And, I say we all sneak over to Anita's and steal the Goddess! She is just too creative for me! I really wish I had her gift for doodling and word art! I keep asking her how she keeps thinking of theses things and all she says is "that's the problem, I don't think!"

JoAnn has got some gorgeous flowers on her blog. She is another lady I admire so talented and so nice. She has a nice vintage touch to her designs which is another thing I can't seem to pull off! My other good buddy Beth, I can't seem to get to her blog. I keep getting an error but she is pretty busy planning a wedding right now for her daughter. But she has some amazing stuff and it was her blog that inspired the folded doilies.

So...now to finish up Friendship Rose. By the way, the rose itself was a shape that has a file name of pspfun_allerlei. I have tried to find the site so I could give a link to it but can't so if this is your shape or you know the site let me know.

Download no longer available...sorry!

That's all for now. Have a great weekend and for those that celebrate Memorial Day have a fun and safe holiday and take some time to say a prayer for the service men, past, present and future, that protect our country and for their families!

A-a-a-a-choo!

That's right, I have a cold or something! Started yesterday when I woke up with a sore throat but felt fine. But as the day went on, I started sneezing and coughing and the eyes got all runny...this morning...yuck! I can't even remember the last time I had a cold or whatever this is!

So, I thought I would post this now so I can go schlep back into bed and snooze! LOL! I found myself thinking, boy, am I glad I don't have little ones that I have to tend to today! Ah! Those days of feeling sick as a dog but you still had to keep going like the energizer bunny cuz the kids had to be taken care of! I miss those days but then again, I don't miss those days! LOL!

Some papers for you today. These came from all your suggestions about "dotted swiss" when you were submitting names. After I made these papers, my Mom saw them and said, " Look at that one with the roses on it...remember the dress you made out of material like that?" And, I did! I used to sew almost all my clothes and I had made a dress out of a very soft yellow material with little roses on it that was also dotted swiss! Hmph! Well, they say there are really no coincidences!

Download no longer available...sorry!

Now, I am going to go take some more Advil Cold and Sinus and go lounge like a Queen! But, for all you Mom's out there with little ones that aren't feeling up to par....this day will come for you to! HUGS!

Happy Hump Day!

Couple of things before we get to the download.....

First....tutorials! Do them, search for them, practice them! Google is a wealth of information, just ask what you are looking for and BAM!....tons of links! Ain't the Internet just amazing! Seriously, I get asked so many times how I learned, and that is how. Well, that and the fact that I am OCD and just won't give up! But, just do a search for what ever and you will find lots of links. If you want tuts in general or if you want, say, lace...just type it in. Many of the big sites have tutorial sections. Check them out. I may not actually do each and every tut I find but I do read through it because they may use a tool that I don't even know exists! LOL! So you always learn something new. Then practice, practice, practice! I keep threatening to share the first kit I made but I really don't want to embarrass myself! But, the more you learn about the program you are using, the more you can think of how to use it.

Second, I use PSPX but there are so many other programs out there so if you ask a question about "how do I?", you need to tell me what program you are using. No sense in going into a long explanation, if I am talking bananas and you are eating apples! Know what I mean?

Third, (okay, I guess we are up to a FEW things not a couple), to add pics to a quickpage. Open your pic, resize if needed, paste it as a new layer to the quickpage (beneath the quickpage if necessary) and then move it until it is in the right position for the opening in the quickpage. When you are happy with it, merge. You need to have an understanding of layers when working in PSP and you will get that by referring back to "First"! Really, not being sarcastic here but tuts are a God send. I am NOT a tut writer....don't have the organized mind to be one. And, I admire those that can write tuts and remember all the steps.

Fourth, (does that now make this several things?), Care Bears. Would love to help you out but Care Bears are licensed and although I know that there are those that send out sets using Licensed images (like Dora, Builder Bob, etc.) it is something that Anita and I are not comfortable doing. You can get in a lot of trouble with copyrights and stuff. Sorry.

And, Peggy....why did you purchase WinRar? There are so many free downloads for the trial version which is all you need! Sorry that you spent money on it but hopefully, someone else will read this and not do that! I do take it as a compliment that you did do that though! Thank you!

Oops, guess Peggy was fifth and now Sixth! See my new button over on the left for Shutterfly? Some of you may have noticed in the comments that someone from Shutterfly contacted me. Well, seems they have targeted some sites that they wanted to partner with and I was one of them. Basically, I put a button on my site and if you click on it and then purchase something I get a commission. Believe me, I will not get rich from it but I do like their stuff and for that reason, jumped at the chance! I think that even if they had just asked that I put their button here and I got nothing, I would have done it! Several other designers have been talking about the books they have gotten from them and are just in love with them! I have checked them out and really for what you would pay for an album, the sleeves, the printing, etc. you can get them to do it for probably less and it is a bound book. Makes a nice gift and takes up a lot less shelf space! I am thinking that with the pics from my cousin's birthday that I might do one of their books. Will have to see how the LO's come out first. They do have premade LO's and walk you through each step so check them out! Father's day is coming up...wouldn't that make a nice and personalized gift? They offer tons of services. Anyway, check them out and if you do order please click to them from here??? Thanks.

Okay, I think I am done rambling! On to the download....got pretties for you today!
Beads and Buttons and Trims, oh, my!

Download no longer available...sorry!

And, as always, have a great and sparkling day!

Good Morning!

Well, DH wanted to go hunting this morning so he set his alarm for 4:30AM...I will give you one guess who got up with the alarm and who is still sleeping!!! Good thing I am not depending on him to bring home the bacon for tonight's supper!

My friend hasn't had the biopsy yet, just the repeat mammo and ultrasound. She was to call yesterday to set up the biopsy. I will call her in a bit to REMIND her! Thank you for all the prayers for her. I am reluctant to send out her email addy but if you wish to send her a little "good thoughts" creation, you can send them to me (jand97sc at yahoo.com) and I will forward them to her. So nice of you to offer. See? I always say I have the nicest readers! HUGS!

I have to get outside today and uncover some plants that DH covered up with the mulch. He just dumped it in cuz he can't tell a weed from a petunia! He did do all the heavy work so I am not complaining. Yes...he is STILL trying to get on my good side! LOL! Never got so much work out of him and I AM keeping it going! Believe me, short of having an affair, his screw up was a whopper and he deserves to wallow in this for awhile! I am starting to soften though...gotta talk myself into staying tough for a bit longer, he still has quite a bit left to do on the Honey-do list!

Okay, so now Anita and I are Goddesses of Creation? LOL! So, that makes us, so far, "Lucy and Ethel, the 2 ol Biddies, Design Divas and Goddesses of Creation!"??? LMAO! Don't think that would all fit on a Title tag! You guys are just too much!

So, today, I have some embroidered, lacy, doily thingies! I tried folding them and I like how they came out but I couldn't decide which I liked the best so I am giving you all that I did.

Download no longer available...sorry!

This was originally going to be a mini sampler but as always these kits have a mind of their own, especially this one! Must be because it for FRIENDS!

Have a wonderful day!

Mopey Monday!

Trying to recover after yesterday...too much running around and time on my feet so today...just resting and putzing. Went this morning with a friend (the one with the son having problems and the fire at her house) for a repeat mammo and ultrasound. I sure wish the dark cloud would lift for her! She is already a humble person so I don't think she really needs all these trials! She is now scheduled for a biopsy so please, say a prayer for her that it comes back negative. She is a nurse on the OB/GYN unit and 6 of the staff on that floor have all just recently had positive breast biopsies so she is sure that she will be number 7! She called me late last night, in tears but claiming...no, no, I am all right just had a weepy moment but I told her that there was no way I was letting her go by herself today...come on, let's have some fun and do lunch! Which we did so at least for a few minutes, she got to think about my senseless ramblings and forget where we had been!

Are you ready for another part of YOUR kit? Today I have frames...
The quote on the one frame reads..."wherever you are it is your own friends that make your world" I also gave you a blank one in case you wanted to add your own message or personalization.

Download no longer available...sorry!

I do have another favor...Anita and I share "the Goddess of Creation". Well, I say share but she is holding her hostage and will not let her come to my house for a spell! Have you seen her latest kit???? I tell you, I don't know where she comes up with these ideas! Isn't she just the greatest Grandma making all those kits for her grandkid's pics! I love the word art in this kit though, so cute! So, please, ask her to release the Goddess and send her my way for a bit! Leave her a note!

Have a wonderful day and enjoy!

A Conspiracy????

Just what is going on? I come home and find cookie crumbs on my keyboard, my chair is adjusted to a different height...someone or something definitely has been at my computer! Then, I check and find No Name has enlisted the help of you, MY loyal readers in a conspiracy behind my back!! LOL!

WOW! I never dreamed there would be this much of a response I thought maybe 10, maybe 15 people would suggest a name but 110 comments?!?!?!? It would take me forever to type in all the email addies! And forget about trying to pick a name out of all those wonderful suggestions! But seeing as how so many of my friends stopped by even when nothing was here to download, I have decided to call this kit Friendship Rose and it is dedicated to all of you! So many wonderful names...I will make a list of them and keep them for further reference!

So, thank you for the perfect topper for a wonderful day! We had a big birthday bash for my cousin's husband's 60th today. About 50 friends and relatives came, family that we don't get to see very often. The weather cleared up and it was a beautiful day! Took about 110 pics because my gift will be an album to help remember the day! Better get cracking on LO's, eh?

I have decided that instead of just sending the QP to those that suggested a name to include it in the paper pack. Some did not leave their email so this way is easier! Thank you so much for having a little fun with me!

Pssst! Can You help me???

You may think it's easy being a kit in the making but let me tell you it is NOT! I am sitting in a folder called "No Name"! Is that any place for a self respecting kit to be? And, I have begged, I tell ya....if I had knees, I would have been down on them!

But, what did I hear? "Be thankful I stayed up late to work on you! I have 5 trays of brownies to make and a hall to decorate! Nothing seems to fit! I have a headache!" Excuses, excuses!

So I am appealing to you to name me and give me a new home! But don't tell HER! (she can be such a meanie sometimes!) Just leave me ("Poor Little No Name") a comment with what you would like to see me named. Leave your email addy too and I will make sure that you get this quickpage as a bonus for helping me out!

Don't worry, SHE will never know! SHE is busy this weekend...obviously too busy for little old, pathetic me!

Friday, May 18, 2007

Just chat

Couple of things....

Nancy...I sent you an email! Now don't go crazy looking for it, I sent it to the wrong Nancy! But, she was the only Nancy I had in my addy book so I took a chance...LOL! Basically, told you that if you did not follow the doc's orders I would have to ban you from downloading anything ever again! So you behave, young lady!

And, Lynn....that has got to be the funniest comment of all time! Then, I checked out you blog....rainbow freckles? I actually did that to my son when he was little! Washable markers of course. But let me address a few of your comments here:

"struggle & sweat profusely with the simple task of arranging the elements in my folders in an aesthetically pleasing manner"

Well, there's your problem right there! No, my dear, your hard drive has to be on the verge of chaos! No organization allowed! A creative mind is NEVER tidy! Well. that's my story anyway and I am sticking to it!

"seemingly little effort that makes it easy for one to imagine that you languish on your lounge in the shade, sipping a tall (exotically flavored, of course) iced tea, thinking nothing of the task ahead until at the very LAST nano second, you nonchallantly "twitch" your kits into existence."

Couple of things here....you obviously are not one of the spies that frequent my house...or else you would have witnessed me swearing and grabbing my monitor by the sides and shaking it when something just won't work, wishing not for an exotically flavored ice tea but a Long Island Ice Tea and wishing I could "twitch" my nose like Samantha and just make a kit!

"Seriously though, you ladies are wonderful......thank you!"

Thank you! Thank all of you, that are always there with a friendly comment and encouraging words. Personally, I have always thought that Miss Congeniality would have been the prize I would want to win since that meant you were the nicest person!

I stopped by your blog and must comment that your LO's are terrific! They truly show your personality coming through. Thanks for starting my day with a smile!

Now, being shamed into it...I have to go do some computer housekeeping today! Maybe I'll find something that sparks an inspiration!

And "Old Glory" passes by.....

Well, this is it...the end...now it is all up to you to scrap away! This has been fun. I loved doing this kit and I am so glad that you seemed to enjoy it too! The comments were not just comments, they were more than that. Loved hearing from so many about how you were going to use this kit. Both Anita and I were blown away by your response and your comments!

The storm has gone and there are still plenty without power. Some areas got hit pretty hard all around where I am and in other parts of the state. Now they are trying to decide were they tornadoes or micro bursts...not sure if the people who are without power or had their property damaged really care what the experts are calling them or not! Some schools were closed for today and will be closed tomorrow because of the power thing but it all seems like small potatoes compared to the destruction other parts of the country suffer when they get hit. Just that New England is not really known for tornadoes or earthquakes and now we are having both from time to time...nothing major but it doesn't take much to shake these stodgy New Englanders! LOL!

Okay...well...let's get to the end of Old Glory....I have some quickpages for you. And let me tell you it was hard stopping at just 5! And, it is a good thing that I didn't have Anita's part when I was doing them otherwise there would have been about 10 more! I have to agree...there are so many parts to this kit that it is hard to pick what to use! LOL! Well, there are worse things in life than facing THAT dilemma!

Download no longer available...sorry!

(Again, there is ONE folder with TWO files, make sure you grab them both!)

And, don't worry Anita and I will do another kit together again...you haven't seen the last of these "2 ol' Biddies" or of "Lucy and Ethel". Again, thanks for all your support!

More! More! We want more!

So, here you go ... Day 4!

I am posting a little early tonight since Anita is such a giving person and sent those storms she was having a couple of days ago to me! Ain't she sweet? They keep rolling through and I am afraid that I will lose my connection so I am typing as fast as I can and get this posted!

They just lifted the Tornado watch...excuse me this is New England...we do hurricanes NOT tornadoes! But they have reported that there were possible tornadoes about 10 miles from me. Nothing like out in the mid-west but still some damage. Got some hail and lots of wind here, along with the buckets of rain.

So, more elements! The bows that you were asking about (the ones shown in the previews) are in this file even though they are not shown in this preview.

Download no longer available...sorry!

Give Anita a little time since I am early then hop over to see what she has in store for you! Thanks to all of you that have already sent me LO's! I really have to get cracking on that slide show! Beautiful work ladies!!!!

Whoopie!!! Day 3!!!

I am typing this early and then hopefully will click publish at 9:59PM so I don't get yelled at by Diana again...she is one tough cookie! LOL!

Cindell...there are some plain star frames in that file...I sure don't want you to feel left out! (insert sad face here)

All the rest of you...wow! I am loving the comments. I really don't think you understand the fire it puts under me to design more when you get such wonderful comments! Grambie...both Anita and I are putting you on retainer for your descriptive comments! You are like a one woman PR Agency!

My daughter was looking at this kit and she thought it would be great to scrap her graduation photos since her school colors we red and white...hadn't thought of that! She said she was surprised we didn't set off fireworks when she graduated since it took her longer than 4 years!

Today was a blah day...felt like some one pulled the plug and I couldn't find the outlet to get myself going again! Did do a little work outside but it got too hot so I came in and just watched some shows that I had DVRed! Real couch potato day!

So, now we get to every one's favorite...the elements! I just loved the doodles from Anita! She did not show me all of them before we released so I loved being surprised just like you! I just love her doodles! Those fireworks are just too cute!!!

Today's download contains shoelace bows with tags, flat clips, journal blocks, lacing and more! And, I just could not do a kit like this without adding a yellow ribbon for our men and women in the military! A little something for those of you with family serving in Iraq or elsewhere!

Day 2 of Old Glory!

I see that some are not downloading both paper files and there is some confusion about them. The File Folder is named "Papers_Day 1". The file folder contains 2 files "papers1" and "papers2". When you click on papers2 it says the file name at the very top of the page, the name of the file folder it is in stays the same. I have checked this from 3 different computers and, trust me, they are 2 different files. (check the size of the files and you will see) Don't want you missing any of the papers!!!!

Also, these are rar files. Again, you will need WinRar to open them. It is the program I use. I do not even have WinZip loaded on my computer anymore so it will be the only way they will be offered. WinRar, in my opinion, is quicker, more user friendly and does both rar and zip files. To me it makes no sense to load up my harddrive with two programs when one does the work of both. I have used it for years with Windows 98 and XP, have never had a problem with it. Sorry for the inconvenience but a simple Google search will lead you to numerous sites to download this program. There are other program out there that will also decompress numerous types of compressed files. Just Google it.

Onto the business at hand. Did you all catch Anita's link to It's a Grand Old Flag? It will have you tapping your toes and you will be humming it for days!
So glad that even non-USA are liking this kit! It is a great kit for scrapping the guys in your life! And, those of you with family in the military...I would love to see some of your LO's using this.

Day 2 is the Alpha and the Frames. Again...huge..again 2 files (one folder) I tried to keep the files smaller for those on dial up.

Download no longer available...sorry!

Now, MARCH (hup 2-3-4!) on over to Anita's...she's got some great stuff for you to download!

Just some chit chat....

I will post again tonight to give you another part of "Old Glory" ... are you not loving it so far?? The response has been great and I love reading your comments! Anita was so sweet to say that she thinks I out did her on this but she is not telling you the truth! I am blown away by this whole kit! She has got some awesome elements for you and I have been asking her... howjudodat? on quite a few things! It is amazing that you can just keep learning and learning and learning!

"The Lucy and Ethel Show"! Ain't she a hoot! Well, Lucy was a red head and so does Anita. Lucy was thinner and so is Anita. Lucy was ditzier..okay 2 out of three ain't bad! We trade off who is the ditz of the day!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day, I had a great day! My daughter woke me in the morning since she couldn't wait until I decided to drag my dead butt out of bed with a card that had 2 tickets to the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill concert in Boston in it! So, she and I will be going to Boston for that on July 6th...I can hardly wait! My son called and said that he would not be able to make it home and although I was a little disappointed, I completely understood...it is a bit of a drive (almost 2 hours) and school is his priority and ours right now so I was just thrilled he remembered it was Mother's Day! Then, DH (who is in the proverbial dog house) called me outside to ask me where I wanted the landscaping lights (that I bought 4 years ago) put so I was out there supervising and putzing around in the gardens. And, before you take his side and say that that should get him out of the dog house, nay, nay! I am thoroughly enjoying all that he is doing to get back into my good graces! And, he has got a LLOONNGG way to go yet! I was about to yell at Bogie-Beagle because he was about to take off down the driveway and my son came around the corner of the house, asking "What's for supper?" He said that after talking to me, he and his roommate who lives in our area decided that they could not NOT see their Mom's on Mother's Day! How sweet are they!

Ended up cooking some steaks out on the grill then everyone else cleaned up! Great day!

Anita and I had decided to release at 10PM EST and with saying goodbye to my son, I almost missed it! Ran to my computer and it was 9:57 which explains the very brief post! Anita was already messaging me asking me if I was watching the clock!!! Mornings are not her or my strong point so we will be releasing in the evenings. Gives you non-north america residents a jump on it! Even though it is Red, White and Blue, I think you will all find lots to scrap with this kit! Then, she and I spent the next 2 hours chatting back and forth before calling it a night! She's a great gal and I am honored to call her "friend"!

Well... need to get somethings done so I can justify being on the computer again later! Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's day. I know it can be a somewhat bittersweet day...I am fortunate enough to still have my Mom with me but I spend a great deal of the day thinking about my grandmothers who were such strong and wonderful ladies. I found something on DigiDebz site this morning that I would love for you to check out. She had gotten it from Nikole Terry of Arms Wide Open and shared the link...I think it is the most touching tribute to Mothers that I have ever seen and it brought tears to my eyes. It is a must see. Go HERE

Have a great one and see you later with more "Old Glory"!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope you had a wonderful day today or will have tomorrow...trying to cover all the time zones! Or, that you had a wonderful Mother's Day in March! Whatever...please take the time on this day to realize how special and wonderful we are! Bless all the Mothers-to-be, the Mothers that are and the Mothers that have left us!

This is a card that I have made for my Mom...Looks much prettier in person.

My Garden..or a little of it anyway

You asked for pics of my flowers? I was outside yesterday playing frisbee with one of the dogs and decided to take some! Wish I had taken them earlier since my daffs have already peaked and are now looking ragged! So many did not come up or are going to late to bloom. I am surprised these poor flowers even know what season it is with the crazy winter we had!

Here are a FEW of the tulips..my fav...wish they lasted longer!

This lilac bush was thought to be dead but then all of a sudden it started to grow and every year is getting more and more blooms! My favorite scent!

Some of my irises...

And, one of the wisteria that I planted 2 years ago and is already blooming and starting to really fill in!

So, that is some of my garden...this is where I have my "Country Picnics!" Such a lead in for the rest of this kit, eh?

Going to finish this kit up today and take tomorrow off. Plus, for some reason, I have something else to post on Monday....hmmmm...oh, that's right! Old Glory!

All the elements are in one file...here are the previews...

Download no longer available...sorry!

And, the papers....

Download no longer available...sorry!

Well, I think Blogger is getting tired with all these pics so I will sign off...Have a wonderful day tomorrow! Enjoy your time with those who call you Mom and with who you call Mom either in person or in your hearts!

This is getting scarey....

Are you guys spying on me? Have you put a spy camera in my house? Are you somehow tapped into my computer?

First, I am working on a box and Sabrina asked for a moving kit. Okay, coincidence. Then, I was trying to figure out what to work on next and I had this kit that I have been playing with and opened it up to see about finishing it.... a picnic theme. Took a break and decided to check my email and there was a request from Pam asking for picnic related stuffies, hmmmm, okay. Then, I checked some of the comments and Shelly also asked for picnic stuff! Is nothing a secret?? All I can say is, if you are somehow sneaking in my house and spying, would you mind doing a little housework while you are here! Dust, load the dishwasher, vacuum, wash the kitchen floor...it all needs to be done!

I am having fits with my scanner/printer. Brand new and it was working but now it has decided not to! I have so much doodly kind of stuff on paper but that doesn't work too well when you want to use them in a kit. Thought about taking a marker and drawing on my monitor and wishing them onto a file but don't think it would work!

So, without further delay...here is "A Country Picnic" complete with frayed denim, huck toweling, gingham, food and ANTS!

First some quickpages.....

Download no longer available...sorry!

And, some Frames..well, a lot of frames...

Download no longer available...sorry!

The Food frame is NOT my art work but it is a freebie from Dover that I colored/painted. Don't want you to think I am more artistic than I am! Stick figures are a challenge! Some of the other elements you will get are MS Office clip art, and then some I did.

Download Old Glory....NOT! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Not yet!!!

And, I know NONE of you know what is in this kit because I have it in a secret place on my hard drive and I only work on it in the dark, while you are sleeping, I keep my mind completely blank (not too hard to do) so you can't read my thoughts and I know Anita isn't sharing secrets so....neener, neener! I will give you a hint...the colors are red, white, and blue!

Not really an OOPS but...

I didn't post the preview for the frames but they are in the elements download...here is the preview...

Rain, rain....go away

I have been spoiled by the beautiful weather we have been having and today I am just a little annoyed with the rain...it is a nice rain, as rain goes, and I know we need it but I do love the sunny days!

So glad so many like 'Moving Day'! I expect to see some LO's! I am giving you the entire kit today which is kind of cutting my nose off to spite my face since I don't have another kit ready to give you after this! Ha! Maybe I need to spend MORE time on the computer!

Grambie...are you available for writing descriptions for all my kits? I just love reading your comments! Thank you so much!

And, I think the FeedBlitz thingy is working since I am getting notification of who has signed up so you may want to add your name so you never miss a word of my senseless banter!

Have been trying to get the hang of this CS2 and finding some tuts, maybe I am just getting too old so I can't seem to pick it up as easily. Anywho...here is today's download...
The papers and overlay and torn paper...

The Elements... (I included a change of address card for a little twist on your journaling and one of the boxes is labeled "scrapbooking stuff", of course!)

And for Lupus...a To DO list! (it is in the elements file!)
