I thought I had made 9 pages!

The mind is definitely going! I thought I had made 9 pages but you all were saying you got 8! I went back and checked and sure enough, there it was! So, it is kinda like getting a present that your Mom had hidden so well that she forgot to give it to so you got it after Christmas! Did that ever happen to anyone? Did to me! And, the bad part was, I had snooped and knew about it, really wanted it, didn't get it and couldn't say anything about it because then she would know I was snooping!

Couple of things first...don't you just love the tag Patty made for me! It is Bea-u-tiful! And to the gal that doesn't post because she usually has a baby on her lap....been there, done that..and you are excused! When my kids were babes, most days getting showered and dressed in the same day was a challenge!

My DH is all excited about my Christmas present this year and to tell you the truth, it has me a little worried! Although, my daughter is involved so I really shouldn't be. He is the type that usually goes shopping on Christmas Eve and since he hates crowds, it is usually to someplace like CVS or the Quickie Mart! He has been walking around here for about a week with this Cheshire cat grin on his face, chanting "You're gonna love me! I got you a present!" There was one other time that he was very proud of himself about my present. That year he said, come on, let's go Christmas shopping. Already thinking that my real DH had been abducted since I know he is shopping challenged, I really was shocked when he pulled into Ethan Allen and told me to pick out a dining room set! Well, I have all the furniture I need ( a new bedroom set would be nice but I haven't been talking about it, so I doubt it's that), I wear the same jewelry most of the time because they are pieces he gave me, so I really don't have a clue. But, he has bragged to both the kids and they agree that I am going to not just LIKE it but L-O-O-V-E it! I have been good and not asked for any clues but it is driving me nuts!

Now, I'm worried that what I got him isn't going to be enough! Oh, the pressure at the Holidays, huh? I have always asked him for suggestions for the presents for the kids and he can never think of anything so, I go and buy, not only comparable in price, but the same number of presents for each. Then, 1 or 2 days before Christmas, he will come home with something (usually for our son) and throw off the whole balance. Then, I have to go to the store and get another for my daughter. Then, he will come home with something for her because now he feels bad that he threw things off which means I had to go out and get something else for my son! He drives me nuts! But, the kids always made out better than was planned so they thought it was great!

He did come home the other day and told me that he quit his job...should be upset but I am not. He has had his own painting/contracting business for years. But, then when I got so I couldn't work, we needed the benefits. He went to work for this HUGE corporation, which shall remain nameless, doing maintenance and he has been miserable for 5 years. He has kept painting on the side but even still, we were bringing in less money than when he was on his own. So, he is going back to it and is already much happier! Everyone has called me up saying, "OMG, I hear he quit! What are you going to do?" And, I tell them, "live better and happier than we have been!" He says one of the reasons he quit was because he knew I was missing him since he went back to work! Okay...which one of you told him?!?!?!?

Well, need to get out and do a little shopping. Went to make cookies yesterday and didn't have half the stuff I needed! Have a great weekend! Chat with you on Monday!

Thanks for this last piece. I really wasn't expecting it. I know what you are going through. This is the first year my 15 year old daughter has her own money to buy me a gift. She has a little part time job dressing up in a costume (like frosty the snowman) in a resturant. So she already bought my Christmas present and tells me every day how much I am going to love it. I am dying to know what it is but love the suprise on Christmas day. Thanks again.
