Good Morning...

First an update on our neighbor. He is in a coma. He is scheduled for surgery today to help relieve some of the pressure to his brain. All of his injuries were to the face and head. The doctors say that there is very little bone that is not shattered. Needless to say, he is still in very critical condition. The family has been told that they have arrested the girl. Apparently, about an hour before this happened, she had thrown a brick at someone and hit them in the head. We are still all in shock but are banding together and have all agreed that we need to take some steps to reclaim our neighborhood. I think the police will get tired of getting phone calls from us but hopefully some good will come of it. If not, we will be camped out at the mayor's office and will start attending the alderman's meetings.

I was brought up to believe that there is good and bad in everything. My grandmother used to say, "God's flowers come in all colors but then, so does garbage so don't judge until you get close enough to tell how it smells." It is not smelling too good around here lately.

I do have a little something for you today. A MiniSampler for the boys, or men in your life or even those denim loving girls! You get the kit and a quickpage. The kit includes the denim background, a worn out piece of burlap, 2 leather tags, rawhide embellishments, a safety pin and shadowed photo edge.
Download no longer available...sorry!
I hope you enjoy. Please have a safe and enjoyable holiday and please continue to pray for Danny.

Your blog today brought tears to my eyes for your neighbor and I said a little prayer for him. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. I don't understand how people can be so callous.

I also wanted to thank you for the mini-kit. It is just beautiful.

Hugs,

I feel so bad about your neighbor. My prayers are with him and his family and all your good neighbors. It really scares me to think of what the world has become and what is in store for my 7 young grandchildren.

Oh my gosh, I miss a day and you go and have a birthday. Happy (belated) Birthday to you. Hope it was as special as you are! So sad to hear about your neighbor. How horrible. We will pray for both him and his family. What a sad situation. On a happier note, thanks again for another cute creation.

Thank you for the last pt of Friendship Rose and this awesome Rough & Tumble kit. Just read your posts about your neighbor - will add my prayers too! There are a lot of wonderful people in today's world but there are a few ....(shaking my head).

Jannidee! I didn't read your previous post until I saw this one today and went back to read it. I will pray for Danny to recover from such grave injuries and for strength and comfort for him and his family. I am horrified by the callousness of these people, too. I can't imagine feeling that uncaring of others, let alone acting that way! I hope that you and your other neighbors can change things in your neighborhood for the better. Keep safe!
Oh! Thank you for the very adorable quickpage and minikit. I love them!

What a dilemma those tenants have now caused to the neighbourhood.
If anyone wants to move due to the stress of them living there it is going to be difficult to sell with the stigma attached to the street. Evicting the tenants would be my top priority and I would give the owner a hard time until he did something.
It's a sad state of affairs that in today's society the young people are brought up with a total disregard to logical consequences of their actions.
Today’s judicial system even protects the young people from their parents as a result they grow up with the attitude that they can get away with doing anything, anywhere, anytime without any ratifications.
The female in mention was probably drunk and drugged at the time, with a bad attitude to start with.
~Thanks for the freebie~

I am so sorry about the trouble in your neighborhood! It is unfortunate that such undesirable had to move in! Hopefully something can be done - maybe someone should get in touch with the landlords, cuz you gotta figure those kinds of people are trashing the houses! I mean, if they have no respect for their neighbors, they probably have no respect for the house either. I pray your neighbor heals with no problems! Thanks for sharing your minikit amongs such troublesome goings-on!

I love the kit and will pray for your neighbor. I know what it's like to live with lousy neighbors my family did so for 17 years. Even had an order of protection at one point. We finally gave up and moved out of state. We're very lucky now in a lovely town with great neighbors.

My heart goes out to your young neighbor and his family. My prayers go out to you and the others on the street also. We have neighbors that we don't get along too well with, but we have never been afraid. I've always told my DH that at least they are quiet and don't have big parties.. Don't let up, don't let them win. I'd try to get everyone to call the police over and over again. Do they have people coming and going all day and night? If so, take license numbers and the time. (don't be seen) Give it to the police, could be selling drugs..
Just makes me so mad!!!

Oh Jan, how absolutely horrible! Brings back memories of my old high-school friend who tried to break up a fight outside his frat house and was hit in the head with a baseball bat for his efforts. He died soon afterwards. It's a sad, sad world we live in, with little respect for the sanctity of human life. I'll be praying for Danny and his family.

So very sorry to hear about your neighbor Danny. I just read your post to my husband and we were talking about how inconsiderate people are now a days. It makes one wonder what is going on in people's brains to do this to another human! I will pray for Danny and his family that he will have a full recovery. Please keep us informed.

This is great for my gson. Thank you. :)

Would it be possible to get the family's permission to share his email? We could all send him a get well LO or a kind word. Or perhaps we could send a LO each to you if you wouldnt mind passing the LOs on to the family. I dont know. I just feel so badly for them that I want to let them know that there are still good people out there that are thinking about them and keeping them in our prayers.

Jannidee, I am keeping your neighbor in my thoughts and prayers. What a tragic situation. These people have no values what-so-ever. No values for human life.... so sad.
Thank you for taking the time and energy to create under such horrible conditions.

Thanks so much for the cute kit! Also, prayers go out to your neighbor & his family. Todays society has gotten so warped. I know there's still good in this world, but when things like that happen, it just makes you heartsick. Cudos for ya'll for wanting to take your neighborhood back. So often nothing ever happens because of peoples fears of what might happen.

This is so horrible Jan. When I read your post I just got so upset. Poor Danny and he has 2 children? I will be praying for his complete recovery. Is it just so hard to believe that there are people like that out there. So so evil and to have them living in your own neighborhood is such a shame. I am so sorry.

Jan: Have not said thank you in a while, shame on me!! So I wanted to say a great big THANK YOU for all the lovely goodies you so graciously give away!!!!

I will pray for your neighbor, Danny. I hope he is doing OK and that they were able to relieve the pressure on his brain in time. I also hope they have caught all the idiots who did this to him. You are so right; what is happening to his world? I can't believe the cops didn't force the parties to break up when they first got there. And for the parties to keep going while all that was going on, well it's criminal! If the owners cared about more than just the money and did good background checks, and kicked bad tenants out when they did bad stuff, there wouldn't be these kind of problems.

I pray that your neighbor Danny is alright and will pull through. I pray that they find, if they haven't already, all the people responsible and throw the book at them. I also pray for your sake that these people clean up their acts. That the owners get wise and kick them out if they do.

Good for you all to get involved. You need to contact the owners of the houses too. Tell them you are not going to stand for it. Every time you call the police, call the owner (they have reverse phone directories).

If you don't know who the owners are you can get the information from the Assessor's office, it may be called something different in your state, but it is a matter of public record you just need to find the right department.

Well I accidentally sent this comment to "me" and I could only send 300 words at a time, it took 8 posts to get it all in. Then I went to close my email and found all the posts. I copied each one and pasted them back as a whole here. So now, it's 1:55am and I am going to bed.

Thanks again for your generosity and good luck, Anna-Marie

I'm shocked, sad. One minute in front of those monsters, one minute with my own bat, please. I hate the way the world is turning. Its why I prefer animals, people are getting rotten.
I'll pray for them, and for you too, to bring peace for your neighborhood.

Thank you for a wonderful kit! I feel for you and your neighbourhood going through such circumstances, and am delighted to read that you and your neighbours have decided to take a stand. My neighbour across the street ran into difficulties with a situtation and she took action to change it. Her words to me when she came over and asked me for help were 'you can be either a victim or the victor...which do you want to be'. It takes courage to stand up for community issues. All the best wishes and prayers for you all.

So beautiful with the blue denim & the multiple photo placements. Love the cute leather tag. TFS.

You have my family's prayers for your entire neighborhood & a special prayer for the family in deep sorrow. (Babies having babies, & Mothers & daughters being best friends.) I tell my children I am not their best friend, I am their Mother, Chief bottlewasher of the Kimb clan. He will make a way out of no way.
