Gifts for YOU!

Woo-Hoo! Yippee!

By now you all know that bows have been a thorn in my side. I have used some that I have scanned in but to make one from scratch! Very illusive! Well, yesterday I was working on some designs for our Christmas card and I had an idea but it needed the bow to match the ribbon so...that is about all I did yesterday! I was so excited with the way it came out and there was no one home to get excited with! Not that anyone here would understand what an accomplishment I thought it was but...! So, I am sharing them with you as a bonus today! Now, it isn't perfect but it is my first, so be kind!

The elements today are the ribbons and charm pack. The snowman charm: I included dated ones and then there is a plain one so you can date it yourself or leave it plain. I would love to see any LO's you do with this kit. So please if you use it, could you send me the link or let me know and I will post it here?

Worm Soup. Christi, I am so glad that someone else knows what I am talking about! Both you and the recipe I found on line mentioned making it for Easter...is that a traditional thing? Maybe my MIL makes it for Thanksgiving because Easter is traditionally all Polish food at her house. I use the meat grinder attachment also (I think Kitchen Aide also calls it the pasta attachment...in my house it is called the worm thingy!) I don't know what the ricer is that the recipe calls for and when I was posting, I could not remember what it was called and thought, well, maybe it is the ricer attachment... the only ricer that I know of is what my grandmother used to call the hand masher for making mashed potatoes. Does your uncle put the lemon zest in it? It is so interesting how recipes change when they are handed down through the generations and if you ask why, the answer is always "because that's the way my mother did it!"

You Southern gals: I may be coming sooner than you think. It is supposed to get down to the 20's this week. Pugsli (love that name) light the fire ..I am coming down!

Enough rambling here are the goodies!

Elements for Frosted Windows: CLICK HERE It is the file with #3 in it. Pick png or psp!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for being so kind!

Thank you for the great gifts! The bows are wonderful so I don't have to be kind just truthful-I love them!!!!! I'm glad you like my name, well, actually it's my dog's name. He is a Chinese Pug so Pugs+ Li(Chinese for Lee)= Pugsli. He is my constant companion(he thinks he is my baby and I guess he is). We tease the kids that he is their brother and the uncle to their kids. We all love him so much! When you get ready, come on down. DH is building a fire in the fireplace right now. I love a good fire and fireplace. When I lived with my parents, my Daddy built a big fireplace in our home and Mother would sometimes cook dried beans in the fireplace-Yum! Yum! We also popped popcorn in it. OMG, it was scrumptious!!!! Sorry I wrote so much but it's nice to have someone to "talk" to.

As far as I know it is a tradional thing. Every since I was very little I could remember worm soup on Easter.
My Mom says it's Marcajon which is the region of Italy where Pesaro, Cesara and Ancona are. It's on the east coast below Venice. Where's your
husbands family from?
I'm not sure of my uncles recipe. I do know he like a lot of pepper.
Have you heard of Cappelleti Soup? We have this tradionally for Christmas.

Great bow. I know what you've been going through. I was trying too and spent 2 days working on a bow. It didn't come out too bad but I like the shape of yours. I'll have to try one like that...or probably just use yours. lol Thanks for the great freebies and I love the Frosted Windows kit.

Thank You!!!!!Again you amaze me and everyone here with your talent. The bows are , I think, the best I have seen homemade! I am watching the worm soup saga (grins) and do agree, each family changes "traditional" recipies just a bit to suit their taste. In my family, it is the cookies that are a must. We come from Scandanavian stock, so Spritz cookies are required!
Oh if you are looking for a warm place, we don't get snow in California, and I do have a fireplace! central heat even, giggles.
Talk to you sooners,
Barb
