PLEASE READ!!!

Thank you, Debbie for bringing all this to my attention...I think :(! I have read all of it and agree that something is going on at 4Shared and it is become risky. For those of you that do not know what I am talking about, please go read this. The problem becomes finding someplace that will keep the files for a long time and allow some to be password protected. If anyone has some suggestions, please let me know and I will check them out. Makes me wonder if that is what has been going on with my computer although nothing I run is finding anything. Someone suggested in that thread to go to 4Shared Premium that allows you to embed the download into your site but with all the problems with 4Shared lately and their lack of response, it makes me hesitate to spend that kind of money with them. So....until I figure out where to move the files to....download at your own risk!!! I completely understand if you do not want to download but be assured that as soon as I find some other site to use, the files will be transferred there and you will not miss anything! I do not want anyone to jeopardize their computers! I will keep you posted!

Important...most people, myself included, thinks you can only get a virus, etc from downloading. There is a new thing called 'drive-bys' that enter your PC just by opening a web page(window). I have the free AVG which I love but it is for viruses and not these drive by things (I need to get the bigger pkg that now covers that new stuff. I have gotten many of these lately...DO NOT OPEN or click the X or anything for they look like your anti-virus program.I figured out that as soon as I see it I use the CNTR+ALT+DELETE to get the menu where all open programs are and shut them all down including the bad one first. So far it has saved my PC by doing that. I don't know what the PC pros think about that but it works for me so far. I know nothing personally about BOX.Net but I have downloaded from it and there is no waiting. I heard many people mention it on the blog you sent us to about this virus issue so you might want to look into that. Anyway...thank you so much for the very nice kit...no QPs? or did I accidently delete them...LOL

Hi Janni, I have gone through all 15 pages and now I am scared, I mentioned to my DH a couple of weeks age that I kept getting casino ads popping up and this was coming from the digi-free site, which incidently is where I discovered your wonderful site. I know from yesterday that it took 2 hours to dl 1 small file. Keep us posted. Marilyn UK

I guess I am lucky, I have bothered to pay for 4Shared and I don't get the ads and I haven't had a problem with them. But, my problem is with Media Fire. I get the ads and I have gotten 5 Trojans and 20 Bloodhound Ex from there. 1 Trojan caused me to have to reformat my C drive and start over. My virus protection program did some updates and it has now quarantined 4 more Trojans and 20 Bloodhound Ex's. But then, 2 times a program embedded itself on to my C drive. The 1st I couldn't get out and and to reformat again. The next one I was able to get out of the computer. There is a site that helps you to handle this type of problem. It is called Major Geeks.com Forum.

Get the whole thing and follow what they tell you to do. Kathy

Another site to look into is http://www.box.net/ free and no ads that I have seen.

Janni - check out www.MalwareBytes.org. It works well to find things the antivirus programs miss and they have a trial version that is free. I checked out Box.net and they don't allow free uploads for files larger than 25 MB. You have to pay if you want to upload files larger than that. There are some suggestions for other sites in this forum here: http://www.hummiesworld.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=2658. Good luck!
