I do not like having tag sales!

Well, it is on! Now, I remember why I dislike having tag sales so much...you mark it $5, they offer you 50 cents and then get ticked off when you say no! And, this was for a top of the line iron, new, never opened in a box! Tell me where you are going to get a brand new iron for $5!?!? The thing retails at around $90!

Anyway, I am exhausted and my feet are screaming so I thought I would post the kit tonight with all it's parts to carry you through the weekend! Aren't I nice? (the lady with the iron didn't think so!)

So here ya go...it is 4 parts and it is all mixed so make sure you grab all the parts!

Sorry...no longer available

Oh, what the heck...here is the add-on, too! The scissors are from the tag sale. I thought the were so pretty althought the don't cut worth a darn so I scanned them in and thought I would add them!

Sorry, no longer available.
Have a great weekend!

Great kit, thanks for sharing!

I understand the tag sale frustration - I can come up with all sorts of reasons *not* to have one, largely because of people like that!

Anonymous said...

This is awesome! Thanks so much for both parts.

thanks so much

Ahh-I remember that about tag sales! Thats why it is just easier to donate the stuff to Good Will or Rescue Mission----less hassle!

Sorry about the tag sale, it's the kind of thing that happens, everyone wants a bargain. :)

The new kit is fantastic, very beautiful and with a vintage touch. :)

Thanks so much for sharing it with us and best wishes. :O)

Oh man! You are just too popular, can't download because the limit has been reached... I don't want to wait until later.. waaaa.... ok, I"m over that now. I'll wait.

Don't worry about the stupid lady. What she is doing is shopping at your place so that she can sell it at her place at a higher price. I know a guy that does that. Talk people down, then sell it in the next GS he has....

Beautiful kit, thank you so much for sharing.

I'll take the iron for $5. lol I need a good iron. And somebody to use it. I hate tag sales too. Here we call them yard sales. I am selling a car right now and the people are just as bad. Whine, whine, whine.

Thanks for the new kit. Love it. Take it easy and recover from the sale.

This is another fantastic kit! I always enjoy sewing, although I haven't don it in a few years now. I have material for curtains that I bought over 6 years ago, but never have made yet! LOL One of these days though... Anyhoo, thanks a bunch and for the addon too. I don't envy you on that tag sale. I love getting the money, but hate the getting ready, sitting and haggling!

I like this kit, it reminds me of my grandma, as she sewed my sister and I our cloth's alooong time ago.
Good luck with the tag sale.
Thank you for sharing.

What a beautiful kit!! Thank you so much for all that you always do for us here, no matter what is going on in your life!! THANK YOU!!
I too, remember 'garage sales' as we call them here~ people can be so rude at them!! Everyone wants you to give them something for free, even if it is brand new~ I just don't understand it. So many people here in NE Ohio make a living off of garage sales by buying stuff & reselling it at their own sales or on eBay. They just see everything as money in their pocket I guess. So... good luck for as long as your sale goes on, and thanks again for your incredible generosity here! We appreciate you & know what a wonderful & giving person you are even if the iron lady didn't think so!!!

Oh I love this kit...heck I love everything you create and are kind enough to share with us. Your style is so me. Thanks you so so so much.

Here or tag sales are called yard sales or garage sales....and I love to go to them..but oh I hate having them..as you are right some people can just be plain rude....some just tickle me to the bone and others have become close friends. I wish you well with your sale..and dont let anyone get ya down..cause you have lots and lots of people..that think you are the cream of the crop..and we appreciate ya.

Hope it isnt hot where you are...too hot here to host a sale right now...but you can bet I will be hitting them early in the am.

Again thanks so very much for all you do. Many Blessings
Sheri

hugs re: the sale! i will never have a garage sale at our place cos a friend told me once they were having a garage sale after a family member passed away and ppl were just offering ridiculous amounts like 50c for a whole lounge that was only a few months old! the nerve!

i hate to be picky but was the set of scissors included in the DL file for the add-on??? i didnt see it when i unzipped

I agree it is a pain and people want everything basically for free! I normally just donate it now! Thanks so much for the great freebies! :)

A wonderful kit. Thank you. And after such a hassle at the tag sale, I think you did great just forgetting one thing, LOL. I would have forgotten half of it.

ida macken said...

Awesome new kit !

I understand about the tag sale...lol, the worst thing is that same woman who wanted the iron for cheap would want $10 at her own sale for it and wouldn't take a dime less....lol, guess it takes all kinds ! Hang in there and remember we all love you !
;-))

ROFL...now I remember why I don't have garage sales!!! Thanks so much for the wonderful kit!! Perfect for scrapping those pictures of my grandmother & aunt doing their quilting!!!

Carol said...

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! As a quilter and a scrapper, I adore this!! Thank you so much, it's just brilliant.

Where do you come up with all the ideas for your kits. Your mind must be working all the time, because as soon as one great kit ends another great one starts. Thanks for sharing with us. I LOVE your work!

Kathy said...

Super cute. Love the colors.

Gayle said...

The kit is beautiful. What a wonderful talent you have! Thanks for sharing it with us. :) Hopefully your tag sale at least cleared out some clutter in your home. I always find satisfaction in knowing I got some things weeded out! It's so easy to accumulate too much.

Anonymous said...

Wonderful, marvelous, extraordinary! What more can I say - your mega-kit is totally awesome. Thank you for sharing your talent.

About tag sales - or yard sales here - people DO seem to want to haggle and get something for nothing don't they? Guess that may just be human nature... but it is SO frustrating when you are the one doing all the work of selling!

mom2triplets04 said...

Love all the embellishments and colors. thanks for posting them early. I too hate tag sales. It's amazing how people offer you 50 cents for an item that you want $5 for. Might as well throw them in the garbage and let the garbage man have first dibs. That's what I feel about yard sales. Hope you made something at your sale though. thanks again for the kits.

Senati said...

Thanks so much for the lovely kit! I love quilting and crafting type kits. And this one is absolutely beautiful! :)

Anonymous said...

People figure if you're getting rid of it at a tag sale, you're willing to give it to them for $0! That's why I'll ebay the more expensive stuff and freecycle the rest!
Love the kit and add-on! Thanks!

Monique said...

This is a great kit and I already have a layout in mind. Thank you.

HeatherB said...

This is an amazing kit. Really love love love the add-ons especially! Thank you!

I agree about tag sales (garage sales here). Instead, when we moved, we sent everything to auction to avoid all that unpleasantness, probably ended up with pretty much the same money and didn't have to do a thing!

Kimberly said...

HAHA, dont worry about it Jannidee. Even without the scissors, the kit is awesome! I still want the beautiful scissors though! :) Thanks girl! You are the greatest!

Anonymous said...

What a great kit, thank you! I was doing some cleaning yesterday and came across some vintage needle packets. I was going to scan and upload them in case anyone was interested in them. I cannot design for the life of me! If you would like to use them as an add-on to this kit just give me a holler on your blog.

Dee in Oklahoma said...

I absolutely love this set...thanks so much. I love the down home look it has, it will be so much fun to make layouts with it. I love the scissors..antique looking. You sold those??? I would have bought those with no haggling.
I don't like to have garage sales or tag sales because of folks haggling over prices with me...wanting it cheaper...when you are already selling at rock bottom. Some people..even if it was free, they would try to haggle you down more! Thanks for a wonderful kit..I love it all! Hugs, Dee 8^)

Thank you SO very much for this sewing add on, I love it! :D And you're right, the scissors are Gorgeous! :D

Sorry to hear about the tag sale, it never hurts to ask for a lower price, but to get angry about it is just plain rude!!! Eish, not like you were asking two hundred or something.

Well thanks for part 1 and the add-on. Can't seem to get through to get parts 2, 3 and 4. It keeps telling me to try back later - user overload. Was offline for 2 hours and still the same message. Guess that I will try again tomorrow since it is such a great kit and do not want to miss it.

Fantastic kit, as usual! Thank you so much - I'm a sewer and quilter so I know I will be using this one quite a bit - the elements are so outstanding.

Anonymous said...

What a wonderful kit! I don't like tag sales either, for the same reason. You have the stuff priced at a good price and people try to take advantage , just because it is a tag sale!

Anonymous said...

thank you, thank you, thank you, this is a marvelous and unique kit. Everytime that I think you have reached your peak with a super terrific kit, you come up with another one. You are so generous and very much appreciated. Have a great weekend.

Neverland Scraps said...

WOW, that's so generous of you!! Im sorry that you got grief over the iron. It is horrible that people try haggling you down in prices even though they are already LOW to start!! I hope you were able to make some spending cash and get rid of some of your things in the process. Thank you so much for this awesome, did I say AWESOME, kit and add on!

Sharon-shutterbug said...

Love the add-on kit - thanks so much for offering it! And I can commiserate with you on the tag sale. All that time, and work, and we hardly make enough (or get rid of enough!) to make it worthwhile.
We're pretty much at the "never again" stage.

So now your tag sale has pass and you can now take a deep breath. Jannis do you still have that iron. I plan to get a new one. My Rowenta Professional is over 20 yrs old and still going. But, it is starting to give me problems with the steam part, which is essential. I am serious and will pay you a fair price which is beyond your asking price along with the shipping cost. I cannot find your email, so if you still have it, here is my yahoo email. sckimbrough at yahoo dot com. Once you contact me, I can give you my private email address. Since I have been unable to do any work or be downstairs, my darlings started using my iron. I can't complain because it has lasted a long time. As far as your to be customer at the tag sale, she is the type that feels she has to control a situation. That was an insult and I resent it extremely. Don't worry, the bees got her before she arrived home for being so impolite. If you sold that iron to anyone under $30, a minimum, I am going to choke you. "LOL." You are an extremely nice person, but that doesn't mean you are supposed to let evil people walk all over you. " Here's a giant HUG!!

I am definitely having a ball downloading this Mega Kit and enjoying all the fun elements and papers within Grammie's Sewing Scraps. My father was the sewer and artist in my family and I was blessed to be his sewing recipient after his death. I was 6 at that time. So this kit has dual meaning to me. He also taught us how to crochet and knit. He definitely believed in keeping little hands and minds busy. I used that same method with my children and 1st set of grands. Now it is in use with my 2nd set of grands. I can't wait to open this kit as soon as I sign off. Then I will go to bed.. It is now 3:33 a.m. est.

Tag sale? Oh my gosh, whatever were you thinking??? I used tolove to have them and to go to them, but now most of what I see is overpriced junk like I have already...LOL There will always be the creep that wants it for nothing, so don't let her spoil the fun for you.

I'm a sewer so I love this kit! I like the colors and all the elements in this kit. Thanks so much.

I've had just one garage sale. It was so much work for what we got for the items I decided "never again". I just donate to the Good Will and take a deduction on my taxes. We lived in our house 40 years before we moved and it was loaded. We took many pickup loads to the Good Will. What was I thinking to hoard like that? To some people it is a game to haggle.
