I'm Back!

I NEVER want to be this long without a computer ever again! Enjoy my time away, you ask? Hell NO! I felt like there was a part of me missing! Never realized just how boring daytime TV is! Still don't know what happened, DS ended up re-formatting. Thankfully, I had moved lots to my ED and burned a lot of PSP stuff (fonts, filters, etc) so now it is just reinstalling them. Don't think I lost anything that I can't live without!

Wish I could say that I did something really exciting with my "time off" but I was in such a funk that I just kinda moped...how pathetic am I! Let's see...while I was gone...my son got laid off and found a new job the next day and today the first place called him to ask him to come back. Crazy! On Friday, they were telling him to have his friend come in for an interview because they were looking for another guy and then on Monday morning they laid him off. His supervisor said he had no idea why but they were laying off two people. That morning he went and applied at another place and by that afternoon, he had the job. He is really happy with the way things worked out though since this new place does not mass produce anything. They are more developmental and it is always something new. And then today, with the call from the "old" place, he is really feeling pretty good about himself. My daughter is interviewing for a new position in her company. Not so much a promotion but more of a lateral move. She has only been with them for 3 months but she was recommended for it by her supervisor which makes her feel pretty good.

As for me, I went back to the pain clinic since they have totally revamped this stimulator program and I decided to give it another try before having it taken out. I am seeing a different doctor there so hopefully the results will be better. I was one of the 'failures' for the program and it caused a ton of weird symptoms that they could not explain and swore that it could not have anything to do with the stimulator. Seems funny that when it was turned off the symptoms went away! Anyway, they use much lower stimulation and think now that I was being over stimulated and for some reason, I am extremely sensitive to it. Trying to keep an open mind about it but so far, (only been since Wednesday) no improvement but sometimes it can take about a month before you notice improvement in the pain relief. And, of course, we have had so much rain since Wednesday...sure that hasn't helped!

Grambie....gentle hugs, my dear. Sorry that you are having to go through all of that. Having worked as an Oncology nurse, I more than understand what you are going through. I know that a port is not something you want but it really is the best solution. You are and have been in my prayers and in a special place in my heart!

So, let me go and try to get up and running...be back tomorrow with an upload if all goes well. Thanks so much for all your comments...I have missed you all! BIG HUGS!!!

Wow, a lot happened while you were away! Glad to hear you didn't lose anything significant on your 'puter! Good news on the kids jobs too! Sorry to hear your stimulator didn't do what you had expected, but maybe the new dr. can help! You were sorely missed by all and please, don't stay away this long again!!

Please tell Grambie that a port is definately the way to go. It's no big deal and is so much nicer than being stuck. I still have mine and I'm 4 1/2 years out from my cancer. Hey if it ain't broke, don't mess with it.

WELCOME BACK! Sure have missed you. I checked your blog several times a day hoping you could get your computer back up. I knew you'd be missing it something awful. I don't know what to do with myself when I can't get to a computer! I hope you will do well with your pain control. It's great that your son isn't out of a job! (((HUGS))) Linda

OMG, Woman, have missed you SO much...have checked every day I was on the computer for you. Between you and Anita, I'm feeling... kind of mopey myself!!!!

My mom bought me a 13 inch wide format printer!!!!! I can't wait to use it! I'm so excited. That ended up being my birthday present... she had sent me a 100 dollar check, then came two weeks later for a visit, and offered to buy me the printer, I had to give back the check, but that's quite all right with me! I actually managed to find an Epson R1800 refurbished for about 350 dollars, so was ecstatic about that! I haven't used it yet, it just arrived today, so probably my next "thing" to do (see? I checked you first!) is to see if my new printer works. Whee HAH!

Hello Jan! I hope they can figure out the stimulator so it will help to relieve your pain instead of causing more problems. I have a friend that has one and it hasn't helped her as much as she hoped it would.

I do understand about pain and sadly this is my last time to check in for awhile. I had my hip replaced a year ago and I leave tomorrow to travel to the city (3 hrs. away) where I will have surgery for a knee joint replacement Wed. AM, but I will be back as soon as I am able to check in and see what beautiful goodies you have shared.
Say a little prayer for me please.
Big Hugs,

Welcome back! Fancy missing someone you don't even know! I suffer from depression and cannot leave the house for weeks on end. Then I like to escape to this lovely little world inside my computer and I always know that your site and Anitas and all those lovely other people will be there all nice and kind and not telling us all we are ungrateful or pirates or other nonsense. No I am not ungrateful or a pirate but it's like seeing a police car when you are driving .. automatically you take your foot off the accelerator..just that unjustified feeling of guilt! A bit like that. LOL. Anyway, glad to have you back and hear your news

Glad to have you back again!! Sorry that the week was so hard without the computer, it really is much better than TV. LOL

It's good to know that you might finally get some relief for the pain, and that the latest try might be the answer. Best of luck with that. :)

And congratulations on your children's jobs. :)

Best wishes. :O)

Well, soooo good to have you back girl!! Glad things got worked out with the computer! I'm also glad to hear the good news about your DS & DD's jobs! How wonderful for both of them.
If I was Grambie, I'd go with the port too!! So much less hassle in the long run. Previously being an ICU nurse (before I blew out my back at work), I would recommend them any day!!
I have an interthecal pump because of my back problems. Workman's comp would not pay for a stimulator for my pain, but they would pay for the med pump. It works better than nothing, but I am still in pain.
I sure hope they get your stimulator figured out! I hear that when they do work, they work wonders!! Hopefully you will be on the right road this time with getting your pain under control!! Good Luck with that!!! Keep us posted!

So glad to know that you have your computer up and running. Also, I know what it is to reinstall all the goodies after being lost and alone for so long. I just went through the same thing and still do not have everything installed. So, I can imagine what your reinstallment is like since you have so many designing tools and kits on your hard drive. Your son and daughter are reflections of their parents. They are the silent ones who never make the news because they are doing the right things in life. See what happened after he was laid off. So glad he stayed with the new job that will hold more interest for him. The same applies to your daughter. They have work ethics instilled that is lost in many of our youth. They will make it because they are made of better stuff.
Thanks for the words of encouragement, I knew you had worked in the field and was up on the happenings. They still don't know what causes the blood disorder. Funny how it affects my nervous system by killing the nerve endings, thus losing senses. But, it could always be worse, and I thank him for every blessing.

I was concerned about you knowing that your designing is a major outlet for you. Not to mention that we all profit from your innate ability to help other through many mediums. So glad just to read your words. Leavin LUV! XOXOXO
