Happy 4TH of July!

Hope you all have a wonderful, celebratory day today but please take more than a few minutes to say a prayer for all those that have given so much that our great country is independent and free. To all those brave soldiers and their families, past and present, my hat is off to you and my heart is full for allowing me to live in freedom!

The graphics used are from an absolutely amazing collab kit put together by our friends in Germany as a gift to us USA gals! If you haven't already collected this, I urge you to run and get it now! It is a blog hopper and I loved visiting blogs that I had never been to before! Wonderful gift to us! The "Blog Rally" starts HERE!

So, many kits are out there celebrating this day! It is wonderful to see the patriotism shining and I just wish that it stayed so evident throughout the year! My Dad was an Air Force man through and through! Retired as a Major and it was one of his proudest achievements and was a large part of the man that he was. I was brought up having a huge appreciation for those that served so that I could live free and it hurts me to see those in our country not appreciate and support our troops. I grew up in the Viet Nam era and had a brother that was serving in the Air Force. I remember one time when he came home on leave and he was not wearing his uniform. My Dad asked him why since in his day, you wore your uniform when traveling. My brother explained that too many times, people treated the military very unkindly and with a huge amount of disrespect, to the point that they were encouraged by their superiors NOT to wear their uniform when not on duty! I can vividly remember the hurt in my father's eyes! Whether or not you support whatever conflict should not matter, these are soldiers that are your neighbors, your brothers or sisters, fathers, mothers or family and they are serving your country. If you must, show your opinion of the wars that they are fighting to the politicians that have sent them in harm's way. But, support the troops and do all you can do to keep them safe!

DH, DD and I went to the fireworks last night and they were amazing! Two towns near us put their resources together to produce a huge display. It lasted well over 45 minutes and the sky was just covered non-stop! I guess you could call me a fireworks junkie cuz I just love them! In a couple of weeks there is a display sponsored by one of the Indian tribes that runs one of our casinos. It is said to have cost in the 7 figures and is being done by the Grucci family, and is "supposed to be bigger than the displays of New York City". I cannot wait and I hope I can find the information to get a good seat! My DD friend lives near there and hopefully will be able to give us some "insiders" scoop as to where to go to see them without actually going to the casino and being in all that traffic! After it taking us almost 2 hours to get home last night from the town right next to us, I don't think DH wants to sit in traffic again for awhile!

LOL! I have not forgotten where we left off and am resuming Camo, Lace and Bling! Took me a little while to find it again with all the party mess but I finally did! So, for all those with those camo-loving girls...here we go!

Download no longer available...sorry!

Wishing you all a Happy and Safe Holiday!

Thanks for this.
And multiple thanks to your family and all the wonderful people that have been or are willing to serve to keep our country free. It doesn't matter how unpoplular the war is - no war is poplular, our troops are the greatest and should always be honored. I honor my late husband who served as a Marine in WWII. He never wanted to talk about it, though I know he witnessed a lot of horror.

I couldn't agree with you more! My Dad was career military, my husband a career Naval officer and both our son and daughter are in the Army (they took after their Mom!), DS came home from Iraq a few months ago and my DD is now over there. So our prayers are with all that now or ever wore the uniform!! Happy 4th to you and your family!
PS-thanks for the new goodies!

I am resting & browsing as the rain falls. So glad you had a fun time last night. I was going down to the Harbor here in Baltimore, but the rain is definitely not the place for me with these ole achy bones. So hopefully they televise it.

This is indeed a surprise with the addition for the Bling kit. I should have known that you wouldn't take a resting period after all the excitement. So beautiful. I can use part of the kit for my granddaughter who loves pretty things.

I am the daughter of a veteran, the exwife of veteran, & Mother of a Navy Veteran. I definitely support our troops not only through words but by actions. I hold our government accountable for our men who have died & those that will die. I honor the uniform that a true serviceman wears when his heart is dedicated to this nation cause of liberty & the pursuit of happiness. I don't have anyone in this invasion, that they say is not a war, but I know of others & my heart just ache. I will end on these notes because I am definitely not a supporter of this war, but support the troops by questioning why they do not have the equipment nor vehicles to at least give some protection against these terrorist. I write to my Congressman & other Congressmen to ? why? I keep up with who voted for what. I also watch their sessions live on CSpan so when I write I know what I am talking about. So I implore you to write to your representatives to be sure that your servicemen & women are given their due in armor, food, & support. Everyone please take a moment to thank God for your blessings & then add a special blessing for our servicemen and women whereever they may be. Leavin my prayers & my love!!

Just getting back to be able to catch up on my DLs. I hope you had a wonderful 4th!! I was watching my niece & nephew while their parents (both vets) went to DC to be with my brother (Army major) who is stationed there now. They wanted to see the fireworks there. After all the storm & tornado warnings, evacuations of the mall, and just plain crappy weather~ they finally got to see the show!!
Thanks for your kind words about our vets & active duty soldiers. I think I have said before my whole family is military vets. My grandfather fought in WWII in the Navy, my dad (Marine vet), my step-father (Navy vet), my oldest brother & SIL (both Air Force vets), youngest brother & SIL (both Army vets), & the only active duty member~ my brother who is the Army major I previously mentioned. It is amazing how times have changed from the Vietnam days!! I am just so glad that my DBs don't have to put up with what your DB did! Hopefully we as a country continue to show our military the support & respect that they deserve!!
Thanks so much for sharing your story!! I hope I didn't bore you too much with mine!!
