Quiet Sunday...

Not much to chat about today so I think maybe I will scroll through some of the comments and comment on your comments!

Lynn....yep, sometimes I do have to scroll through my files to find something to post! My hard drive is such a mess! It is true that a creative mind is not tidy! I have kits in various stages...and sometimes I forget about one of them until I take a stroll! Sometimes a kit comes together real quick..start to finish. Then, there are others that I get an idea and get one thing done and then hit that stonewall!

Maggie....Happy Birthday! And may you have many, many more! Hope you did something nice to celebrate!

Pooh! You make me laugh! I make you tired?!?!? Too funny because I really picture myself as one of those tree sloths that move so slowly that you can hardly tell if they have moved!! Oh, how I pine for the years gone by when I had a lot more energy and a lot less pain! If I had only known what the future was bringing, I would have gotten a lot more accomplished! LOL! I do have bursts of energy but you have to be paying close attention or you will miss them! How many times have we all said...someday when I have time, or am retired, or when the kids are grown...I am going to do this or I am going to do that? Well, now I have got the time...but now I either don't have the energy or I have forgotten what I wanted to do!!! LMAO!

Ruth...P+W in North Haven? That is about 1/2 hour from me! Or, I think they had a plant in Stratford that is even closer! Small world, eh? I have to go back through the comments and find my other CT based people...I meant to write down the email addies but...I forgot. Would be nice to get together someday!

To so many of you...There are some days that when I see the number of downloads and then the percentage of comments...it makes you think, why do I do this when so many just grab and never say anything but, especially with the past few kits, Guardian Angel, My Dad and now Grannie's Parlor, your comments have really touched my heart. The memories you share in your comments that these kits have evoked amazes me. AND, that is why I do what I do! I do not think that I have some extraordinary talent or gift. There are so many designers out there that I am in awe of and wish I could produce some of what they do. But, if I can bring even a small number of people some joy, I guess that is my "gift". And, your comments and your support, and especially the outpouring of love and prayers, my friends, are your special "gifts". As frustrating as it can be sometimes, this "scrapping" community has given me back so much more than I have given to it! I think of so many of you as friends and only wish we lived closer so that we could get together and share a cup of friendship in person!

And, all you Paula Deen fans! Don't you just love her! BIG fan here! My DH even watches her from time to time (in between the hunting shows!) She just makes down home comfort food for the most part and from ingredients that you probably have in your cupboards! I didn't realize that the recipe that Pugsli sent me was like her banana pudding recipe ( a few differences) but it was yummy! My friend called me last night for the recipe. I had sent home a plate of food for her youngest son that did not come for dinner and I thought that I had sent enough of the dessert so that they all could have some more but evidently he made short work of it! Told her to check her email since I had sent her the recipe card! Love, love, love her recipes! Did y'all see the cheesecakes she made with the reese's cups???? Oh, man...you know those will be on my list to try! And the hamburgers with blue cheese? I really do like to cook when I am doing something special...it is the day to day boring stuff that I cannot seem to get excited about! Nothing is better than sharing good food around a table with people that make your life special!

Some of the links....the link for the beads and buttons for Friendship Rose is active, please try again. And, part of Grandpa and Me...don't know what happened to it and the file is no longer on my computer. Have to try to find it and when I do, I will upload it again and let you know.

So, I think I have caught up with all the comments....even if I didn't mention you by name do not think that you have not been "read" and filed in my heart! All of you are so special and I thank you!

Here is the element pack for Grannie's Parlor...no separate preview so you get to look at the same preview again! Enjoy and remember, if you do any LO's, please send them to me! When I get my dead arse moving...I will add them to the slide show!

Download no longer available...sorry!

Oh Jan, this is such a neat kit! I am going to scan a picture of my Granny to scrap with this, it will be perfect! Thank you!

I love Paula's cooking too, but the fat content will kill you! So, I have to leave her recipes alone except for special occasions as I have enough fat to keep me alive and well for several years. :-)
Thanks for creating this kit and sharing it with us.
God Bless, Kathy M

Again, thank you so much. It is a shame that so many grab and run, but I'm sure they do not mean to be rude, they are just in a hurry. I always try to say something, even if it is a simple Thank You.

I totally understand how you feel about the number of comments. I had a kit a few weeks ago that had 1200+ downloads and still only have around 55 comments. It's sad but I can't not give to the people who do appreciate it. Oh well, thank you again for another great frebie and all of your hard work ;)

"...we lived closer so that we could get together and share a cup of friendship in person!"

Wouldn't that be a BLAST!!!
Our oldest DD belongs to a cairn terrier rescue group named
"Coronel Potter..." She recently went to a gathering of members from all over the US...drove 700 miles to New Orleans from north of Charlotte, NC. Before that she had only known them from their online forum...she had a super time!!! You will get a kick out of this...these parties are named after the rescue group...I'm not sure what the words are but the acronym is CRAP...;o) She is looking forward to the next one and is considering having a CRAP at her home...LOLOLOL!!!

I have wantd to comment on your slide show but couldn't see a placec to comment. So decided since I am cleaning my computer, reinstalling since Sony sent it back to use today. I Love the display of the beautiful handiwork from your fantastic & so beautiful kits. You fill a void in my life that encourages to try to make memory pages because of the time-limit of my life. Your kit has so many phases of life incorporated within your design that fit any specific spector of my life. Now I am a City born & raised, but love your quilted elements & can't wait to use them for family & friends. I am praying that at least by next month I will be able to put up a layout from your so pretty kits. The fun aspects is definitely high on my list. So, I enjoy just stopping by to feel the love & view your lovely layout slide. By the way, I also got the recipe for my children since I can't cook anymore because of weaknesses. Always know that our love for you reaches far beyond physical planes because of the spiritual love that is always in your heart. To your friend I give our continuous prayers. To you our Goddess, we give homage. HUGS!!!

Thanks for the elements. My Grandmothers favorite dress was red. This reminds me of her. She had 14 children in the 20's and 30's. She had one dress thenand had to wash and rewear it. Later in life when she got where she could a piece of fabric was always first on her list and she loved the bright colors.

Glad you had a good weekend.

Wow I didn't know you were a Paula Deen fan me too. I live in Georgia and have never been to her restaraunt but hope to one day. You have got to try her swiss steak recipe and her crockpot macaroni and cheese recipe they both are so good. To me you are just as talented as the other designers out there. Thanks so much for sharing. I really do appreciate it and try to comment to let you know. Teresa

I've been a Paula Deen fan since her days on public tv in Georgia (a long time ago). We've eaten at the Lady & Sons in Savannah many times and have actually met Paula several times. She is just as sweet in person as she appears on tv. She is my mentor!

Hi Jan, its me Elaine, the Elaine that you know and love. Remember me, I am the one who watched over your site when you were gone for a little while. I am the one who made sure no one was rowdy. Why am I saying this you ask? Because I saw in your comment section that there is another Elaine, Now what am I going to do? How will you know its me, your faithful follower? LOL, but seriously I am going to sign my user name that I use on other sites, which is rags2r, so you do know its me. Thanks so much for these elements. I love the tags, frame and ribbons. They are just great. You ARE so extremely talented!

Hi Jannidee

I'm afraid that I am one of those people who gobble up your sets and haven't left a message of thanks. I did try to leave a message after your neighbour was so brutally attacked, but I think it disappeared into cyberspace.

I think many women, (myself included) lead such busy lives that we forget the little courtesies which make people smile. So .... a belated THANK YOU from a happy South African digiscrapper.

I am not a great blog reader, but yours has touched me firstly because we're about the same age, (definitely NOT "Old Biddies", Jannidee), and secondly because of the warmth and sincerity of your writing.

So from a chilly but sunny South Africa, thank you again for your care.

Lots of love
Karen

I just love this kit and when i find time to scrap i will be using it. it reminds me of my great grandmother so will have to dig out some pictures of her to use. It also reminds me of my mom so it will definitely be used. I am new to downloading and i admit i have been trying to send thank you notes to everyone but i might forget to leave message with everydownload on a webpage. I am trying to get better at that. Hope that you have a great day.

It's really appreciated all the freebies in your blog, but the most appreciated thing in my opinion is the way your messages are written. They are so entertaining some days, and could be so sad others. Just like live is, as that's what you are writing about. That's the thing I like best and I appreciate most. :) It's what it makes you come back to the blog, to this blog and to others.
I do like and enjoy the freebies and I try to always leave a thank you note, but some days, for whatever reason, that's the only thing I actually manage to write. It has nothing to do with blog it's most usually linked to my own days. And I'm sure other people feel some days the same way.:)

I wanted to thank you not only for all your freebies but also for the blog and for making it. :)

Best wishes. :o)

These elements are stunning....love the colors and those tags are amazingly beautiful!! Thank you for sharing yet again such beautiful creations! I love Paula Deen..being born in GA and most of my relatives still there, I was raised on cooking just like that. I also have eaten at The Lady and Sons and it was delicious! Go the food networks website and you can find so many of her recipes there. Sorry to hear that so many people grab and run when you designers put so much time and effort into sharing your designs.
