Dinner was wonderful!

Our dinner was wonderful! The weather was great so that we could eat outside The peonies right off the patio were in bloom and smelling wonderful! The fire pit kept the skeeters at bay! Everything went smooth as silk! We grilled whole chickens (3 of them) which were so tasty, made a great potato casserole (Potato Casserole Link), Spring Layered Salad, grilled corn on the cob and this yummy desert that Jackie "Pugsli" sent me! The desert is definitely a keeper so I have made a recipe card. I am trying to make cards for all my favs and someday when my kids ever decide to get married, I will put together a recipe book for them! (If you would like the recipe card you should be able to right click and save it.)

My friend was so totally relaxed after a couple of wine coolers that she actually was dozing off! Mission accomplished! She talks to the radiologist on Monday, has another MRI on Thursday and then the surgeon will schedule a lumpectomy and lymph biopsy for the next week. If the margins are negative and the lymph is negative then all she will have to do is one week of radiation. Let's hope so! But, at least for one night, we talked about anything but all the troubles and laughed and just enjoyed being together! Even my daughter stayed outside with us until 10:30 just shooting the breeze! Wonderful evening!

But, I was exhausted! I think I was in bed and asleep before our friends even got home to their house! Woke up at 3AM got something to drink and found that my son had come home! It is unusual to find everyone asleep in our house before 2AM so when he got home at midnight and found everything dark, he went around and made sure everyone was still breathing! LOL! Said he missed the welcome he usually gets when ever he walks in the door! So we sat there and talked until 4 AM and then finally went to bed.

So, today is going to be a veg day...doing the bare minimum! Got a ton of emails to catch up on and freebies to post at the Freebie sites!

Oh, gee, speaking of freebies...let me see what I have in my stash.......nope, not that one (not done yet)....ummmm, no...not this one...AHA! Here is one!

Download no longer available...sorry!

Enjoy! Have a great weekend and yet again, thanks for being such super ladies!

I'll confess. I don't completely read every blog I visit. I just kind of skim through parts and look for things that interest me. But your blog is always interesting. You have a gift with words. I often find myself laughing, smiling or crying based on what you've written. Thank you for all the time you spend working on the blog and the wonderful gifts you share with us. There have been many days lately where you've literally made my day, and I wanted you to know how much I appreciate it.

Thank you. :)

Funny...you used Paula Deen's Potato Casserole recipe, but didn't realize you had her 'Not Yo' Mamas Banana Pudding' going on as well, lol...

So glad to hear that the dinner was a relaxing time for the both of you & your daughter. It is times like these when friends are an anchor & you have come through in the best manner possible. I am still praying & awaiting his words. I didn't get there in time to get my take-home-plate, but thanks for the dessert receipe. I definitely will use it. I stop by often, just to touch basis & to know that you are still spreading your special dose of sunshine & love. Leaving Luv!

I've enjoyed several of your scrap kits! I used to be a frequent visitor in Ct when I was younger. 4 Blocks from Pratt and Whitney talk about noise. Best wishes to you your family and friends!

Thank you for the start of another great-looking kit!!

I am glad you were able to help your friend relax and enjoy the evening. That was probably better medicine than a bottle of pills could ever be. Send my best wishes to your friend, and hopes for a quick and complete recovery!!
