Things that go bump in the night...

we have a mystery! Last night, we were woken up by this loud "th-thump"! We jumped out of bed to go investigate. (well, DH and I jumped out of bed...Miss Gimp just layed in bed and keep asking "what was that?" LOL!) Of course, our first thought was that Miss Gimp had fallen but her mouth assured us she had not so, our next thought was that Mrs. 911 had fallen upstairs!. So, again, for the second time in a week, with our hearts racing, we ran upstairs to find my Mom sound asleep and still in bed so we tiptoed out to investigate further. All the animals were accounted for and in various stages of waking up...oh, yeah, real watchful, alert animals! We checked in the basement, nothing...checked everywhere! Nothing! Now, this was loud enough to wake all of us (well, except for our still yawning animals!). Have no idea...we decided to blame our ghost although she has never made any noise before in the 23 years that we have lived here with her so I doubt it. Hmmmm....

Yes, we have a ghost. We live in her house. She has been her since the day we moved in and even before that. We have talked to other people who have lived in this house and even before we said anything to them, they asked us if anything "strange" had happened. Apparently, she must like us since we just see her but from what others have said, she doesn't like everybody that has lived here! We have all seen her and she appears to just check on the kids. So, we kind of consider her like a "guardian" of sorts. We see less of her now since the kids were away to college but when they come home, she appears again! I keep thinking that I should "send her into the light" but I kinda like having her around. Even when the kids were toddlers, they would ask why I was in their rooms when I was somewhere else in the house. They were sure they had seen someone in their doorway. A friend of mine had dated a guy that worked with the Warrens (a couple that pretty famous for their ghost-busting) and when he came in our house without any knowledge of our little lady, he commented that he felt a strong presence but that it was non-malicious. Most of the houses on our street are circa 1880's and several seemed to have non-rent paying guests! Sorta fun!

So our noise must have been something outside but what it was shall remain...a mystery!

Okay...so my butt is sore since I spent so much time on the computer this weekend! Finished up a couple of kits, did 2 new ones, worked on a couple of LO's (boy, I hate my LO's!) and tried, unsuccessfully to come up with a new banner for the blog to post as my linking banner. The one that I have now was one that I did in a couple of minutes because when I signed up on the ranking sites, they asked for a banner and I didn't have one. Just hit a wall trying to think of a design. Never have been good at tags, LO's and obviously, banners! I look at some peoples LO's and think, my gosh, how creative! Now, why can't I think of anything like that? I would love to be on a Creative Team for some of theses designers on some of the sites but, that would mean, I would have to be creative! Not happening! I can come up with ideas for kits but once they are made can't put them together for beans! Go figure!

Anywho...enough of my banter...and enough of making you suffer to get to today's FREEBIE...part 3! (Now, why didn't I think about just numbering them before...well, I guess I did once and then I stopped, don't have a clue why though! But, it does make it so much easier for you, doesn't it?)

Remember to let me know if you do any LO's and if you do one that you are particularly proud of and turn it into a QP, let me know!

Download no longer available...sorry! and remember to leave a little love or, even, a kick in the pants if you download! I so enjoy reading your comments. Some of you have become real "coffee-clutch" pals!

Have a great day and thank you all for the wonderful comments and, more importantly, your friendship!

Big super-sized HUGS!

Oh, do I get to be first? Love this kit. Thanks for sharing. Understand about your "bump" in the night. We have them here but outside. Day and night. I have come to the conclusion ours are either coal mine blasts or earth quakes. Some are big enough to bring the neighbors out in the yard. Very strange. Course there was the one one time that was a derailed train about 6 blocks away. DS was so excited. He saw it happen. Pretty neat for a 13 yo boy.

Thanks again.

Hi Jan,
Well I must say, you are a very brave lady. If I thought that I had a ghost, friendly or not, I don't know that I would stay living in my house. But I am curious, are the kids the only one who has seen it? Was it often? Anyway, thanks for this last piece. I really love this kit.

Wow that's neat that you have a friendly ghost watching over the kids!
I'm glad that I'm not the only one with weird noises! LOL
In Nov a week before Thanksgiving around 5am my dog started barking and than I went to the bathroom after yelling at him when all of a sudden I seen something scurring on the floor by the bathroom door and it took off when I turned on the light it went into the computer room.
I yelled for my son to get a net and catch it, the little stinker went into my printer but Jace caught him and put him outside and low and behold it was a flying squirrel! LOL
I never knew that we had them here!
Anyway Thank you so very much for part 3 of your beautiful kit!

Thank you for another part to this PRETTY.

I would think the same way you do about that ghost because if she was harmful I'm sure you would have left a long time ago. Just take heed to what she is trying to tell you (if anything).

darn it ....... it says you reached your download limit. I will have to remember to try again later. I was trying for 10 mins and I still got the same message. My brother has a ghost in his house. He finally asked her to leave because she was scaring him to much LOL
sissy boy :) She wasn't doing any thing just walking the hall but he didn't like that. She left.

Thank you for part 3!!
We had a huge bang in our house once. We finally figured out that the house had settled because we had put in a waterbed (hey.. it was the 70's). They are so heavy and the house wasn't new, that it just settled, no harm done.
We have little noises all the time now that we live in Alaska and have little quakes all the time. Most that you don't even notice. I know my cupboards so well that I've figured out a few times that a can or what have you, had fallen.
ha!

Thanks for the next part of the kit and thanks for the ghost story too! I love all things ghostly and would love to have an old haunted house to live in. Maybe you should get ahold of Ghosthunters. They are in Rhode Island. Not far from Connecticutt.

We have lived in a house with a ghost - a friendly one. Our two daughters had bedrooms up stairs and everyonce in a while they had to dodge an arm sticking out of the wall. Right! That's what I thought. But it happened more than once and it never did scare them. One night our dog went running out of our bed to the bottom of the stairs, the hackles on her neck standing straight up and she had a real throaty growl. She stopped when Hubby went over to her. The next morning the girls said the ghost was walking around again. Later we found out that in the 1920s a girl about the age of our youngest got really sick and died in that house. By the way, thank you for #3. I also picked up #'s 1 and 2, as I had missed them somehow.

K, now that you've scared the beejeeeeezzzus outta me I'm gonna leave ya a kick in the pants for the ghost stories...lol.
If I had one ramblin' round in my house, I'd prolly fall over dead from fright. Actually I dunno how I'd deal with it, but I think it would give me the creeps at first.
Thanks for part 3 Jannis, it's lovely. Spoooooooooky hugs..
