My daughter...

...can dance like an angel but walking gives her trouble! My daughter has been dancing since she was 5 and when she does ballet, she just floats and is so beautiful to watch. But, she takes "not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time" to an all time high!

I was just about to put the clean sheets on my bed and turn in for the night when we got a phone call from her at work, crying. She had caught her foot on a phone cord while getting up from her desk, lost her balance, fell and "I think I broke my ankle"! She said a lady that was 10 feet from her heard the pop and she couldn't put any weight on it and "Mom, there is this hard lump above my ankle bone. That's not good, is it?" Um, no! So, DH and I drive down and pick her and her car up and off to the Emergency Room we go. X-rays confirmed a fractured fibula and she is heartbroken because they still have one more day of inventory and she is the only one that really knows the program to download all the info and she feels like she is letting them down! So after spending 5 hours in the Emergency Room, they put a hard splint on it and we have to go to the orthopaedist tomorrow for the cast. She is actually thinking that after that, she is going into work! Um, no, again! She is in a lot of pain although the pain meds are starting to kick in and she is getting a little loopy and silly. Poor kid, she is so responsible to her job and I know she will be on the phone constantly tomorrow talking people through the computer part of it. At least it is workman's comp and she will still get something while she is out.

So, it is now 4:41am and I am trying to wind down, still have no sheets on my bed and am thinking maybe I could get my imaginary pool boy to do that for me! (oh, and by the way, he is my pool boy, I don't share so you will all have to get your imaginations going and dream up your own! Mine is 6'3", blonde hair, muscular, tanned and his name is Lars...very Scandinavian!) So, I thought I would post the Freebie since tomorrow (or, actually, later on today) might be hectic. Today is the "everyday" tags that go with the kit. They are not Valentine-y so you can use them with other LO's.

Sorry this download has been removed

Just had to edit and add this! Just checking my email and Jenny did another page of her beautiful grand nieces! So cute, Jenny! I am so glad you are enjoying this kit and thank you for sharing your LO's!

Hi Janni,
Thanks for the pretty tags! Sorry to hear about your daughter, but glad she's ok. :) I had to take my 16 month old granddaughter to an after hours medical clinic last week, because she took a chunk out of her forehead after losing her footing. She ended up getting three stitches that were pretty close to her eye the poor bugger. Kids will be kids no matter the age!

oh man, my heart goes out to your daughter! I fractured my fibula on July 17. I didn't know my meds have the side effect of sleepwalking, and I'd taken them for 3 years with NO sleepwalking. Until then. My son heard me fall 4 or 5 times, trying to get to the bathroom. He got me into there, and waited outside. He said he heard me wash my hands 7 times. Apparently I fell asleep after washing my hands, then woke up and figured I had to wash my hands, and just got into that loop. He finally got me out of the bathroom by saying he had to use it. I remember NONE of that.. but I do remember getting into bed and my leg hurting! Anyway.. she's going to be in some serious pain for about 2 weeks, then she'll get a regular cast, then a few weeks later, a walking "boot", then a brace. When she starts walking without the brace, the break won't hurt, but her foot will, where the ligaments and tendons haven't been used for 2 1/5 to 3 months. Believe it or not, my foot STILL hurts when I walk more than usual, say at a store or something. I had no IDEA what to expect, as I healed, so maybe this might help her a little bit.
by the way, thank you SO much for the tags!
hugs,
Lynne

So sorry about your daughter, I'll be praying for her! tell her not to worry too much about work, there is always a way the work can get done. Tell her she is more important than the work will ever be and to take care of herself so she can go back better than ever! I know how it is when your daughter is in pain-you hurt with her. Just know that we are all busy praying for her and you!
If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here for you!

I'm so sorry about your daughter. I hope ya'll got her all fixed.
I came in this morning before work and "caught" up on the pieces of the kit. I love those hearts, and the tags. I've been sick, stuck in the bed sick. I didn't work Monday or Tuesday morning, but had to go in Tuesday afternoon because I had to go..no choice. I'm still not well, but I'm on the mend.
Thank you for sharing your kit with us.
