Christmas is for Children

We have the two cutest kids that live next door. Two little boys, Jessie and Justin. I just love watching them play together, riding their bikes pretending to be cops, or motorcycle racers, playing tag, just boys being boys but they play so well together. I have never seen them fight with one another. I have never seen them disobey when they are called inside, Their parents have told them not to come into our yard without permission and they won't. Even if their ball comes into our yard, they will not come in to get it until one of us comes outside and then they ask. They came over when Joe was working in our garden and asked a million questions about growing things and what veggies he was growing, helping him pull weeds. And when it came time to harvest, they were so excited when Joe gave them some to take home. They would always come back and tell us how good it was and how they ate it "all up" as they were rubbing their tummies. I am sure they are not as perfect as they seem to me...I am sure their Mom would tell me that they are not the perfect little boys that I think they are. But they just tickle me. Their Dad just lost his job and has been picking up some part time work with my husband so I am afraid that (like all too many families) Christmas may be a little sparse. We always donate to Toys for Tots but this year I told Joe that I wanted to get these two little guys the toys we normally donate.

I have always enjoyed making Christmas and Santa magical for my kids and I miss that now that they are older. We did Santa's footprints, magic dust at the Fireplace, a piece of velvet left where Santa caught it on the chimney, a sleigh bell left on the porch roof anything we could think of to keep the magic alive. So, of course, I couldn't just give these two the presents from Joe and I. It had to be "magical". I decided that the presents would come from Santa's elves. So I found a cute coloring book image at www.PheeMcFarland.com, colored him in and named him Fribble, the Executive Head Elf. The elves get together every year and put all the good little boy's and girl's names in a hat and they pick two names out and give them an extra present. Kind of like a "Good Kid Lottery". Here's what I came up with:

Cute? I thought this way, they would not expect it every year and, of course, hopefully, it will make them feel special.

Then I was thinking about how big "Elf on the Shelf " is and this could work with that. If you have an Elf on the Shelf, you could use this with that and make the presents from your Elf.

I didn't create any of this so I cannot take any credit for them except for the coloring. Since it not my design I would suggest PU only. I have put together a little "kit" for you to use if you would like...

No, unfortunately, I have not heard from Anita. I did send her a few emails but...I miss her as well.

I have already made a memory locket for my daughter's bouquet as suggested by Val with her grandfather's pictures in them and a horseshoe dangling from it. (An Irish custom for good luck) I am making her a brooch bouquet, I think I already told you that and so far it is coming out beautifully. Still need more brooches and it is a lot of work but fairly easy to do. I now understand why they cost so much on Etsy!

No, I do not have any plans to open up memberships again. I just don't think I could keep up with the demands of that. So many have emailed me about the old kits and could they get them so I have been toying with the idea of opening up on Etsy and posting some of the old kits there as well as new ones. I just don't think I could design on a time line for now but I missed designing. Not sure how it will work out since there are so many great designers out there and styles have changed quite a bit. Maybe my designs are too "dated'? I don't know just yet what I will do.

And, NO! I am not ready for Christmas yet! I am so far behind...just can't seem to get moving. the only thing saving me is that with the kids being older, money is an appropriate gift! My son wants to build a computer and needs money to buy the parts he wants and we bought my daughter and her fiance two new doors for their house after they were broken into that were more secure then the ones they had. So I am just picking up a few little things so there will be something to open. Have no idea what to get Joe or my Mom, the tree (OMG..the tree saga continues!) is still not up and so far I have a centerpiece on the dining room table and the wreath on the door...that's it for decorations! I have my daughter coming down this weekend for her birthday dinner so maybe I can enlist their help in getting some things done!!

I think that is about it. Think I should finish up my cup of coffee and get my day started.

Getting ready for Christmas?

I guess it is that time of year again...let the hectic race to the finish begin! I do love Christmas but it is too much for me to keep up with what I have done in the past... 2 Christmas trees, decorations in every room, candles in every window (our house has over 30 windows between mine and my Mom's floors), the baking, making presents, the shopping...I'm exhausted before I begin! So despite my desire to do it all, I have decided to eliminate some of it and try to enjoy what the season really means instead of being too tired to appreciate it.

My first decision was to put up only 1 1/2 trees. Okay, you really cannot put up half a tree but instead of the big family tree, I thought I would put up a 4 1/2 foot tree and give the 7 1/2 foot Martha Stewart tree that I bought new last year to my daughter. I had bought it last year because it was pre-lit and supposedly easy to put up and take down. It was gorgeous but it was still a lot of work to put up and take down and my back was shot by the time I was finished. So..sent it up to my daughter so that she would not have to buy a tree. She was thrilled... I ,mean a good tree is not cheap and since they are trying to save for their wedding, and the added expense of having to theft proof their house since they were robbed last month, every dollar helps. I am such a good Mom, right? Well, maybe not...last weekend they decide to start decorating. Put up the tree and realize that they have a 7 1/2 foot tree and their ceilings are 7 1/2 feet! But. I guess the tree is not quite the height it says it is and there would have been just enough room to put on a tree topper. Then, they plug it in................

They tried EVERYTHING including going to Home Depot and looking at Martha's tree but they have changed the design of the lighting set-up in this year's models. I had read last year that some people had trouble getting all the lights to work and if they weren't plugged in just right, they wouldn't all light. The parts that are out will not even light when plugged directly into the outlet. They spent 2 days working on it before they finally gave up and took it down. She is going to call them and see what they can do since it does have a 2 year warranty and, maybe with all the other complaints about the lighting, they will make good on it. Geez, a $300+ tree, used once and now it is not good for anything! They went out and bought a live tree for $40 but then had to buy lights so my attempt to save them money was a bust!

So, Jess is not too thrilled with Martha. She had bought a patio set of her brand from Home Depot and after having it about 2 weeks, they came home one day to find the glass top shattered. Nothing had fallen on it, it wasn't in the direct sun, just shattered for no apparent reason. They contacted the company and Home Depot and were told that this sometimes happens?!? The store did not have any more in stock so the did reimburse them for it. Hopefully, they will be as helpful with the tree! Come on, Martha! I love you but a little quality control, please!

I will be going up to her house on Saturday for a jewelry party along with my Mom, Jeff's Mom and one of the bridesmaids. When their house was broken into, they stole every bit of jewelry she owned except for what she was wearing. She was heart broken since 2 of the pieces were gifts from her grandfathers, who are no longer with us, and she had planned on wearing them for her wedding so she would have their presence with her on her big day. I thought with our home being broken into twice would have been enough but I guess she has inherited our bad luck. So she is having a party to try and restock some accessories.

And, to top it all off. they day they were leaving for Florida to visit Jeff's grandparents for Thanksgiving, they discovered that someone had hacked into their bank account! Poor kid! She works so hard...they both do and they are NICE people. they don't deserve this run of bad luck.

Enough with the downer stuff! We are getting into this wedding big time now. Two weekends ago, we went gown shopping! You Mom's will understand what a big moment this was for me! To see your baby girl in a wedding gown... a day you started dreaming about from the moment you knew you had a daughter! She was beautiful in almost every gown she tried on but not quite ready to make a decision. The 2 that she really liked were 3 sizes too small so she really couldn't tell which would be the best so she is going to try another salon to see if they have a size closer to hers. She wants a vintage/rustic theme and either gown would be great. She wants to carry a brooch bouquet so I told her that I would make one for her so I am now on the hunt for rhinestone and pearl brooches. I have quite a few already and have started to play around with putting the bouquet together and I think it is going to be spectacular. She thinks, and I have to agree with her, that flowers for the bouquets are a waste of money. This bouquet she will be able to save since it will have a base of silks. She is thinking of her having bridesmaids carry an embellished clutch purse which I think is great. She does have a good head on her shoulders when it comes to money and her venue and food were the two items that she splurged on and the rest she wants to do as much DIY and DIM (do it Mom) as possible. I designed their Save the Dates and we are now working on their invitations. So much fun! I will keep you posted on her wedding plans...wish I could invite you!

I do have a kit for you! In the Christmas spirit so it is a Christmas kit. Kinda funky and fun, relaxed and casual. It will only be available for 2 weeks so get it while it's hot! I have decided not to keep the downloads up forever because I may be going the Etsy route. But for those of you that have kept me on their updates and feeds...you get first crack!

Back from the dead?

Not sure how many of you will be reading this since I have been gone for so long! I recently received a few emails from some "old" members asking how I was, saying that they continue to check my blog to see if I have updated or even just to say "hi" and it really made me feel good to think that I was missed! So, I thought that I would pop in, say hi and let you know how I was doing and to say thank you to all of you that have kept me in your thoughts and prayers!

Really not much has changed. Still in pain although it does seem to be a little better in some areas and worse in others. I did not have the surgery on my back since they could not guarantee me that it would really help so I thought, "Why put myself through all that and not receive any benefit or, even be worse off than I already am?" Most days I just plug along and to be honest, the pain is far out-weighed by the lack of energy. My family has gotten quite used to having to wake me up to tell me to go to bed because it seems like if I sit down, the eyes close! There must be a direct link between my butt and my eyelids!

The family is doing well now. We did go through a very rough patch with my son and I would like to say that he learned from it but I am afraid that he did not. He is back living here at home and although I love him dearly I am not sure that out weighs the mess that it has caused!! I had gotten the house pretty much all in order and had the cleaning down to a manageable routine and now that is all shot to hell. I am sure that he will be moving out somewhere in the not too distant future so for now...I will deal with it and try to focus on the blessings of having him here.

My daughter has moved to Massachusetts (because of her fiance's relocation) and it about broke my heart. Although she is only 2 1/2 hours away it is too far for me to drive by myself so I can't just hop in the car and see her as often as I would like. Even driving up there with Joe does a number on me with the vibrations of the car/truck. Last Christmas started a whirlwind of activity here with my son moving home, her moving to Massachusetts and her getting engaged! It all happened in one month and all around Christmas so hectic became a lifestyle for about 2 months until everyone was settled! She and Jeff found a great house and although they moved in in January, unfortunately her job was still down here. The company allowed her to telecommute for part of the week and then she would stay here when she actually had to be in the office. She finally got transferred up there last month, thankfully because the amount of driving she was doing and the confusion it was causing her with her schooling was really taking its toll on her...can we say "_itchy"? She was exhausted and frustrated and just wanted not to be living out of a suitcase and be able to actually enjoy her first home. Now they are busy doing some redecorating and is much more calm and, yes, pleasant! We are starting to plan in earnest for the wedding which will be in September and I am so excited but we can talk more about that later!!

Joe and I are fine except he is working too hard and that makes for long lonely days for me but I really should not complain since with this economy we are very lucky that his business is still doing well. Being a self employed painter/contractor for the most part has not been too profitable for most people but he has managed to keep busy and find new jobs. My Mom is still kicking and, really, does better than me most of the time!

As for designing...I started to play around again but really haven't done too much. I lost quite a lot of my own design resources so it means designing from scratch every time I want to do something. I had so much that I had scanned and extracted, lace and bows and such that it seems overwhelming to have to do it all over again especially with the set up that I have.
But, we are in the middle of turning my daughter's room into MY craft room with a big desk so that hopefully it will be more convenient to do stuff. I think you guys would be surprised if you could have seen how I had to work before...in a little corner desk set up with a broken keyboard shelf! I might as well kept my keyboard on my lap! And the angles of everything really would do a number on my neck! Hopefully, with the new set-up I can be more comfortable. have my printer/scanner right at arm's length away and finally get organized!

But, I have done something and I thought I would share it with you all. It is small... an alpha. I got the idea from something I saw on Pinterest. Oh, have you been bitten by that little addiction yet? What a great idea but oh, so addicting! My daughter and I signed up so we could exchange ideas that we saw for the wedding and now I have a list of "when I have the time" projects that would take me until I am 160!

Just an update

So many of you have sent emails asking how I am doing and offering prayers for me and it means so much to me even if I don't get everyone answered. I thought I would give you an update..well at least as much of an update as I can since I still don't know what the hell is going on!! LOL!

I saw the neurosurgeon on the 15th. I have known this man for almost 20 years since working with him in the OR and again as my surgeon when he did the fusion in my neck, and I think the world of him. Apparently, others also have the same opinion since he is rated one of the top neurosurgeons in the country...lucky me! Anyway, he had told me after doing my neck, that he really did not want to do anything to my lower back since it was in such bad shape. My spine has been deteriorating since I was in my 20's , maybe even before but that was when we discovered it after herniating a disc lifting a patient. What I needed then was a fusion in the lumbar area but there were no good vertebrae to fuse to and if he did do a fusion, it would severely jeopardize the thoracic area which was not much better. Fast forward to now, the pain and the numbness in my legs has gotten to the point that something HAS to be done before I lose the feeling in my left leg. Now, since I have this stimulator thingy in me, I cannot have an MRI and the cat scan does not show a clear enough picture for him to decide what he can risk doing so I have to have a myelogram which I am now waiting for my insurance company to approve. DH went with me for the appointment and to say that he was floored when he was going over the films was an understatement. When a lay person can see a film and see that it isn't normal......! Even I was really prepared for how bad it would look...the stenosis in some areas is really severe where it is really impeaching the spinal cord, almost every disc is in some degree of herniation due to the deterioration of my spine and the scoliosis, and probably 80% of the vertebrae have bone spurs, some of which are larger than the vertebrae themselves. To say that it was depressing looking at that mess, minimizes how I felt. I left the office in tears. (It did get me a nice breakfast though since DH felt bad!) He really doesn't know yet what he can do, have to wait until after the myelogram for that but it will mean surgery of some sort.

So, I go from having my own little pity party to a false happy face to trying to get things done that I know I won't be able to do after...the holidays are coming up, who's going to cook dinner and get everything done....I mean really!!! Can we say neurotic!!! LOL! DH has been wonderful even if he doesn't quite know what to say but he just keeps saying that it will all work out...has even sworn that he will fore go his hunting season this year! Awwwwww!

So, that is where I am at...still no real definitive answers, still in pain, still pissed off that this body is letting me down and still trying not to take the pain meds so I can stay awake if I sit down! Most of the time, I do pretty well and can put it on the back burner but there are times that it gets to me and I am a dripping puddle of tears. Not so much because this is such a terrible dreadful disease..believe me I know that there could be worse things, but because it prevents me from doing the things that I enjoy. DH surprised me with tickets to the Paul McCartney concert in Boston and it was so hard to get excited about going since I knew that I was going to be limited on getting around and that it would take me days to recover even from the drive to Boston. We did go and the concert was just absolutely awesome but I just felt bad for DH! THAT is what gets me down....Damn it! This is the time that the two of us should be off doing things we enjoy!

Okay, enough of my pity party! Really, I am okay just sometimes need to vent about it. Like I said...things could be much worse.

On an up side! DS has a girlfriend! And, WE (meaning DH and I) like her ALOT! I am just so thrilled for him. It seems like for the past couple of years his luck has been terrible and he has really had no fun! He is walking around grinning from ear to ear and I could not be happier for him and the fact that we also like her, is such a big plus! DD has started her Master's courses after getting accepted into the school she wanted so at least for the younger generation in our home, things are good!

So, there you have it. So many of you have asked when I will be doing memberships again and I really do not know what to tell you. I do not want to open them up and then not be able to fulfill my commitments to you. Right now, even when I try to sit and design, either the pain gets to me or I find myself nodding off at the computer! LOL! My snoring wakes me up so I just shut it down and go lay down before I fall out of my chair! These Golden Years ain't what MaMa promised!!!

Thank you all for being so patient. Things have not gotten much better around here although we (MDs and I) have gotten one of the problems worked out. The new medication that they started me on for the fibro (which by the way REALLY worked on the fibro pain) caused a lot of side effects for me, hot flashes, hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating ...and I do mean excessive!), night sweats, insomnia, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, depression and I had them all! Kind of rare but after stopping the medication about a month ago, I am starting to feel some better as far as that is concerned. As far as the pain, the CAT scan showed major changes from the last MRI I had and none of it for the good. A couple of new herniations, the old herniations have gotten much worse and the spinal stenosis is at the point of causing much more pain and numbness in both my legs and, get this....the hiccups! The pain responds to nothing and it seems that everything aggravates it. I am scheduled to see the neurosurgeon on the 1st but he is the same guy that told me that until we were at the last resort, he would not operate on my lower back since there was so much deterioration that there was really nothing he could do and that was 6 years ago. So, I am not real hopeful of a good outcome no matter what is done.

Trying to keep a positive outlook but it gets harder everyday when there are things that I need or want to do and this old body will not cooperate! And, to top it off the rotator cuff in my left arm is now joining the other side of those things that need repair. I swore after I had the rotator cuff in my right arm done that I would never go through that again but....

So, that is where I am right now...not a real good place and not knowing what the future is going to bring. I don't know when I will be back to business or even back to normal!?!?!

Really, I haven't!! Everyday I think things will be better but physically...I am just falling apart. The pain and fatigue have really taken over and most days it is a struggle just to do the basics. I have been bounced from one doctor to another and have been scanned and poked and still no answers as to why I feel like crap. After living with chronic pain for so long, the pain I could deal with but this fatigue is really starting to get me down. Finally got someone to listen to me about checking hormones both female and thyroid and will get the results back in a few days. Hopefully, they will show something but in the meantime I have about as much energy as a limp dishrag.

I do have a couple of kits for you for MAY and hopefully will get some more finished up soon. Since you have all been so patient, I want to at least give you 4 per month so after today that will be 6 more kits and then that will finish up June. Then, I think I will be taking a break from memberships for a bit until I start to feel better. I will continue to put some more in my shoppe since that is a bit easier than creating from new. So within the next few days I will be taking down the links for memberships. I just can't find it in me to spend much time on the computer and until I do, creating is the last thing I want to do! I will keep you updated!

Yesterday, I added the button for the 3 month membership that would cover April/May/June so anyone that wishes to get those kits may now join. I also added some of the kits that have been requested to the shoppe...Nautica, Sweet Baby Rosebud, Celebrate Life, E-I-E-I-OH and hopefully will get to more this week.

I again apologize for the confusion of late as I think I have done at least a dozen times before and I feel MOST of you have been very understanding and patient.

For those of you that purchased a 3 month membership in the past week, you clicked on a button under a picture that clearly read Jan/Feb/March, when you got to PayPal it read Jan/Feb/March and the receipt you received from PayPal clearly reads Jan/Feb/March and so since I get the same notification that you do, that is the password I sent. Some of you have NICELY asked about it and then there are others that have ripped me apart about it. For those of you that asked like ladies about it, I will get the password for April/May/June to you today.

To answer one person...yes, I do understand that "$6.00 is an amount that some people do not have to throw away". That is why I offer the memberships where you generally pay .50 to .80 per kit. I challenge you to tell me another site that sells you kits for that price except for another blog membership site.

No, I am not a "thief or a scam artist". I am just one person that through no control of my own has only two hands and does the best that I can with what I have. Do I make mistakes? Of course I do and I will be the first to admit it. But, I do not feel that I deserve to be called names because of your inability to read.

I should be "turned over to the authorities"? Be my guest if that is what you feel that you should do. Since I sent the password for what you purchased, I do not think I have committed any crime.

I thought I had been very up front with everyone but of course, that assumed that people actually read what I have written. Apparently, it is ALL my fault that some do not have the time or the intelligence to read and just come and grab and expect me to be able to read their minds.

Please do not respond to this. I know most of you understand and feel "how can people be this way". I am NOT looking for sympathy for this or even understanding. So don't leave me comments about it or emails. I am just venting and, yes, am wondering why I continue doing this. Between having to deal with not being able to sit here for that long and all the computer problems lately and feeling so much under the gun to get caught up so that I DON'T cheat anyone out of what they paid for, it is very disheartening to get called such vile names! For those that feel that I am a cheat, be my guest...go elsewhere and get your kits!

Just a bad day here in Janni-land! For the most part I think I am generally nice and overlook quite a bit and try to go the extra step to help people but sometimes it just becomes too much. A keyboard can be a powerful tool. It provides you anonymity and may let you be someone that you would not be in person but please remember that there is a live, breathing, feeling person on the other end of that email you send so thoughtlessly. It amazes me that there is time to write emails like these but somehow there is no time to leave comments about kits.

Major computer problems so I apologize for the delay in answering your emails and getting your passwords to you. I have spent most of the time trying to save what I can to my EHD and hopefully soon I will get this poor baby reformatted and see if that solves my problems. Also, I am leaving this morning for Kansas to bury my aunt so I will be gone until Tuesday. I am so sorry for all the problems this year but I do have all the kits for April uploaded for you and as soon as I can access a computer that lets me do something I will get them posted and get your passwords out to those of you that have joined or have lost your passwords. Today I am posting several kits that will finish up the kits that should have been given out in March. That means you will need to use your March password to access these files. This also means that these will be the last kits you receive if you are a 3 month membership holder. I will be opening up memberships for April/May/June so that those of you who wish can re-subscribe and get the kits for those months. I know that this is all so confusing but I really wanted to make sure that everyone got the number of kits that they were entitled to.

Things are going pretty well...still plenty of computer problems and I am wondering if those will ever be cleared up or I will forever find things that are "missing". I am getting somewhat better...at least I have been able to sit long enough to get a kit finished up and uploaded!! Thank you all for being so patient! You have gone above and beyond!! Still going to therapy and some days are better than others. I have numerous herniated discs but I'll tell you, this was the worst one yet. Nothing seemed to ease the pain and I spent quite a bit of time just in tears. From dealing with chronic pain, I have a pretty high pain tolerance but this really knocked me on my ass! DH was just wonderful and took care of ALL the cooking and laundry and, bless him, he tried his best at cleaning although we slightly different standards in that department! LOL! I didn't complain though since I think that is one of the worst things about being laid up...when you start to feel better, you have a ton of catch-up to deal with. And during all of it, he painted 2 rooms and laid a new floor in my DS's old room. And remembered to get me flowers for our anniversary! Still wondering when that lightening bolt hit him...must have been doing to many pain pills and muscle relaxers to remember!

Anyway, I have a small something for you that I was working on before all this happened. A little something for Mother's Day. Hope you enjoy and I should have another kit for you in the next couple of days. For this kit, use the password you would use for MARCH. And my apologies for not having a sampler...things will get back to normal soon...I hope!!

Just taking a few minutes to answer a few emails and do a quick post. Started therapy yesterday and for something that is supposed to get you back on your feet, or in my case...even sitting on my butt, I am in more pain today than before I went! LOL! Have to go again tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it. Would much rather be going to a spa for a nice massage! At any rate, it is getting some better and a little less pain. Well so far 2009 has been the pits. I am so sorry that this is happening but please know that everyone will get the kits they are entitled to. About a week and a half ago, I herniated another disc and have been on bedrest and heavy duty meds that really knock me out. They want to do therapy once the spasms stop but so far they are still really bad. Other than getting up and going to the bathroom, I have been in bed but thought that since I had just taken my meds I would take advantage of the small window of less pain to check my emails. I have just sent out the passwords. Please accept my apologies. I know that I should be opening up the memberships for the next term but right now there is no way I could sit at the computer to send out the passwords. Hopefully, I will be able to do that soon and get caught up on everything. I am sosorry about this, I understand your concern about getting what you paid for and please know when I am able to sit here for longer that 5-10 minutes, that will happen. LOL! I might be giving out March kits in May but you WILL get them!

ARGHHHHHHHHHH! I am so sorry that I have not been posting but this computer situation is just going from bad to worse! I did find a program to try to restore some of the files that I lost and I cannot believe how much I had lost! Over 60% of my harddrive was missing and a lot of that is corrupted and cannot be restored. It is not just files but programs also so my computer keeps locking up, shutting down when I try to get on line...just a mess! I cannot get it reformatted until I recover as much as I can and it is slow going.

But, not to worry, I will make up the kits for you when I get it all straightened out so please do not think you will be short changed on your memberships!! Hopefully, this explains the delays about answering emails, the lack of kits, etc. Technology is grand until some jerk sends viruses out there and screws it all up!!

Before I get to today's kit, I have a question. Has anyone updated from PSPX to PSPX2? As I told you I bought the new version and I did install it and now I am missing kits! The file folders are there but there is nothing in them! These were kits that I was working on and the working files are there (psp images) but the ones that I saved as final pngs and jpg are not. I have looked EVERY WHERE! LOL! Actually, I am not really laughing since now I have to start from scratch and it is so hard to duplicate......arghh! Just wondering if anyone else had something like this happen to them.

The bedroom I worked so hard on while DH was not here is a total mess! We had to repair the ceiling...LOL...I can hear him saying what's this WE sh-t...got a mouse in your pocket? And he has redone the electrical, moving outlets and putting in a ceiling fan, put in a new sink and lighting in the half bath and, with this old house, NOTHING is a small job! So, I have plaster dust all over the place, holes in the walls that are patched...a mess! I could just cry but I keep telling myself it will be finished soon. We have found out, though, that we are definitely NOT a one bathroom family!! This little 1/2 bath is about 4'x5' and it is amazing how much stuff it holds since the rest on my house is a mess with the stuff from it. We are talking about doing the kitchen next and considering the mess this little bath has caused, gee, I can hardly wait!!

Can you believe this weather?? Frigid and we got hit with a storm that seemed to come out of nowhere! Now this weekend they are saying it could get up into the 60's! Weird but I am so looking forward to some warmer temps so I can throw open the windows for a bit. Seems like everything is off kilter...the weather, the economy, people (now, come on....calling 911 because Mickey D's was out of chicken nuggets?)! What is going on?

Okay, so enough of my lamenting...I am now uploading to box.net and it seems to be okay for everyone. I did purchase the upgrade for one month to try it out but am still looking around. Some people have no problem with 4Shared and some do, but I can understand people's concern about getting viruses. I haven't moved everything over to box and will hold off on that until I make a final decision.

Now, onto today's kit....Having Fun! Leaving out the flower elements, you can use this kit for both girls and boys and I think there are some fun elements to play with! I try to make kits that would look like what you might scrap with if you were scrapping the "old way"! I hope you like it!!

Thank you, Debbie for bringing all this to my attention...I think :(! I have read all of it and agree that something is going on at 4Shared and it is become risky. For those of you that do not know what I am talking about, please go read this. The problem becomes finding someplace that will keep the files for a long time and allow some to be password protected. If anyone has some suggestions, please let me know and I will check them out. Makes me wonder if that is what has been going on with my computer although nothing I run is finding anything. Someone suggested in that thread to go to 4Shared Premium that allows you to embed the download into your site but with all the problems with 4Shared lately and their lack of response, it makes me hesitate to spend that kind of money with them. So....until I figure out where to move the files to....download at your own risk!!! I completely understand if you do not want to download but be assured that as soon as I find some other site to use, the files will be transferred there and you will not miss anything! I do not want anyone to jeopardize their computers! I will keep you posted!

Well, so far I cannot say that 2009 has been so hot! We have all had some type of stomach bug and then we all had either killer colds or sinus infections! And since we were all sick around the same times...it got a little grumpy here! Hopefully we have all had all that we are going to have for awhile and now can get on with feeling better!

I did go for the injection but did not get very good news. The space where he usually injects is no longer there...seems like another disc has bitten the dust and he was not very optimistic that the injection would do much since he had to give it so low in my spine and he was right. Some relief but not what I was hoping for. The old body is just giving out faster than I would like! It is so frustrating to want to do so much and not be able to. And, so many of you are in the same boat. You would think that since they can do so many joint replacements that they would have something that they could do! Ah, well, such is life I suppose...should have stayed walking on all fours like we were meant to! LOL!

Computer is still giving me fits! Am saving my pennies since I really think I need a new one! It just takes so long to get anything done and everyday it seems like something else doesn't work and then it is re-booting and hoping that corrects the problem.

DH has been doing lots of stuff that needed to get done...putting in a ceiling fan, changing outlets, some plumbing...all stuff that needed to get done but that means making a mess. Our house is OLD so there doesn't seem to be any job that is small. A friend of ours that is an electrician was here for most of yesterday since even changing an outlet leads to problems. And, then there are the wonderful plaster walls....such a mess! Love old houses for their character but I would love to have a new house where things were much simpler! Oh, maybe in my next life!!

I have a new kit for you! This kit has been in the making for quite some time and I finally finished it up. So glad that you all liked Stampin' My Love...your comments were wonderful! So I hope you all like Cherry Nougat as much! My thanks to Storeide for her rolled edge templates!!!

Thank Goodness I go for my back injection tomorrow because I have just about had it with a bum back! The last one I had lasted for quite awhile but when it starts wearing of, it wears off in a hurry and with a vengeance. So, I really haven't been on the computer very much lately because that just sends me into spasms and have been spending quality bonding time with my heating pad. LOL!

DD was home for a couple of days with "bubble guts" that really put her to bed and at the same time across town DS was sick with a sinus infection and trying to get moved in! Thankfully, DH kept everything going and wasn't too fussy about what we called supper!

But, I did get a kit finished up and packaged so what do you say we start off February with a little Sweet Whimsy? Can you tell that I am really ready for Spring? I really think we have had enough of cold and snow for this year!

Slowly but surely I got a kit packaged!! Thank you all for your suggestions about getting me moving faster but so far nothing seems to be working! LOL! Hopefully after DS gets all moved in a couple of weeks he will have time to come over and hopefully work some magic! Till then...I will slowly plug along!

Not much to chat about...still trying to free up some space for hubby to move back in! Lordy, I really spread my wings so to speak and somehow seemed to collect a lot more "stuff"! But, then I am also going through things to weed out the excess. I spent most of last night going through the filing cabinet and now I have quite a bit for the shredder! Went through my closet and really did some "condensing". What do they say? If you haven't worn it in 6 months, throw it out? Now, I have to make a trip to the consignment shoppe and the rest will go to the thrift store! Somehow I think I am making more work for myself but I am getting some sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from it all. Let's get zen about it and call it a "cleansing"!!

DD and her guy are in the thick of their classes for their master's and, for the life of me, when I hear them discussing their homework, I can't figure out how they will ever use the stuff they have to learn! Certainly passed my knowledge of things. I guess those days of helping them with their homework is gone! (thank goodness!)

Well, it's late. I'm tired and have a full day tomorrow of errands so I will just get this posted and call it a night......

Bad, Bad Blogger!

No, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth although some days it feels like I have! Things have just been so hectic and unproductive...ya know, take 2 steps forward and fall back 20!

My computer is just crawling. So trying to get a kit finished takes forever. I swear, I am drinking more coffee just waiting for it to do what I want it to do. There is less on it now than when I got it so I am baffled why it is moving so dreadfully slow! At this point I could probably draw it by hand, go to the copier store and make copies then hand deliver it all to you quicker!!

DH is moving back in at the end of the month so I have to un-claim all the closet and bureau space and I really don't know where to put things! He has stayed in his apartment longer since DS will be taking it over and with the leases and stuff it has just seemed to take forever for this to happen! I am thrilled even though it is going to be quite an adjustment for both of us! LOL! There is something to be said about the single life! No more bowls of popcorn for supper and coming and going as I please!

And, then there is the weather!!! We cannot have anymore snow until some of this has melted since we have no more space to shovel it to! Our drive way runs right next to our neighbor's fence and on the other side is a flower bed and then the house. Not a lot of space! Whoever planned this house didn't have snow in mind...the yard on the other side of the house has all the room. AND...can we at least get over 32 degrees???? Pugsli...the south is starting to sound VERY appealing!!! Still have the hotel open??

I have several kits in the making but damn if I can get them to come together. My tube tool shuts my program down and I never realized how often i use it! I broke down and bought PSPX2 and am waiting for it to be delivered and hopefully that will help get things moving again. I still think that the version I have is part of the problem since the slowness and the tube problem happened at the same time. As soon as that upgrade gets here, I am deleting this one.

Then I decided to get with the program and update the look of the blog....took me ALLLLLL day! and I am still not happy with it. Blogger was being a real butt with all the error messages and shutting down. Of course it had to be blogger and not the HTML-challenged individual trying to figure it out! I tried reloading the slide shows and finally gave up. Those will have to wait until another day!

But, I did get a mini kit put together for you and with a very appropriate name for how I have been feeling......Winter Blues......and it is only January! LOL!

Okay, it is time to listen to me rant and rave about the weather! Seems like only a week ago that I was complaining about being cold LAST year and it seems like only yesterday that I was complaining about the heat! LOL! Never happy! ): I really need to find someplace that is a balmy 75 degrees year round, no humidity and only rains at night!

I have been trying to get my computer to run a little faster. Seems like in the past couple of months it has been slowing to a crawl and I have done everything I can think of to get it moving. Tons of free space, no viruses, defragged, no errors, etc.....DS says just buy a new one that is bigger and better! Don't you love these kids that think stuff like that is a priority? But he is right, I think I do need a new baby but until I get caught in a money landslide, it will have to wait. I am busily moving everything I don't want to lose onto my EHD cuz I have a BAD feeling...! Who knows, I may be asking some of my "old" members to be sending me my own kits!!!

Well, some of you know about the Christmas Pickle! LOL! It is just a little extra bit of fun for Christmas. If you Google it you will find out more about it and can find places to buy an ornament. I had made some years ago when I was into crafting and fairs...made out of Fimo and about the size of a gherkin. I do like the blown glass ones but I think they would be way too easy to find! Speaking of ornaments, I stopped into a Craft Store that I hadn't been to in years that has a Christmas Shop attached to it. Oh, I was in ornament heaven! None of them were super expensive but still if I bought all the ones I liked it would have run up quite a bill! I asked if they ever went on sale and she said that in July, they take down all the trees and clean and restock with the new ornaments and have a clearance sale of the old stock. You know where I will be in July!!! I realized that when they kids take their ornaments, my tree will be a little bare.

Any New Year's Resolutions out there? Mine is to take better care of myself...nothing too specific but am going to try to make myself a priority more often than I have in the past. Not that anyone in my family keeps me from doing it, I am my own worst enemy in that department! But, I figure since it such an "umbrella" resolution, I have more of a chance to feel like I have been keeping it...no sense in setting myself up for failure!

I do have a new kit today...Calling All Boys. I tried to make it so that you can use it for the younger and the older so if you are doing an album, it would all co-ordinate. Hope you like!

I came home a day early since the weather is supposed to turn bad again and I didn't want to get snowed in at the cabin. It was beautiful up there...we had lots of snow and everything looked amazing!

I hope you all had as wonderful a Christmas as I did! I always enjoy Christmas (well, last year wasn't so good) but this Christmas was just spectacular for our family. It just felt like what Christmas was supposed to be...warm, loving, relaxing and a time for being thankful for the love that surrounds you. We started Christmas Eve with our pierogi's and fish dinner and then did our presents. DD's boyfriend was here and got to experience out lunacy for the first time. He really has become such a wonderful addition to our family. The "kids" did the Christmas Pickle which he had never heard of and my kids showed him no mercy. WE never did find it and I thought I had remembered exactly where I had hidden it but they got their 'pickle presents' anyway!

Then on Christmas Day we had all our family for our traditional prime rib dinner although this year I plum forgot the yorkshire pudding along with the rolls! But, no one really missed them as we had so much else to eat. Then it was just relaxing and gabbing, reminiscing and remembering those that were no longer physically around our table. It was the first Christmas in a long time that I was sad to call it a night and see everyone leave. Truly a wonderful holiday!

For New Years we are making our way to the cabin and will be leaving tomorrow and DH wants to extend it to a week instead of a few days. Going to try to get a good dose of relaxation in before kicking into high gear after the festivities become a memory and we have to get back to reality! I have sent out all the passwords for those that have joined so far. Memberships are slowing down a bit but if you do join between now and January 4th, I will not be answering you until I get back, okay?

We don't really do much for New Year's Eve...just make dinner and usually play cards. Someone usually has to remind us when it is midnight! Such party animals! It is on my Bucket List to go to New York City some year for New Years but I want to be in a hotel room overlooking Time's Square and NOT in that chaos below!

Since I will not be here for the 1st, I am posting the first January Kit tonight. Now this is a January Kit even though it is posted in December and only the Jan/Feb/March password will work. It is another snow kit but it has a neat marker to remember how much snow you had! I hope you enjoy!

7 days and it's coming FAST!!!

The hurrier I go, the behinder I get!! How many of you are feeling the same way???

First, let me take care of business and get that out of the way. Memberships are going well but with Christmas coming it is getting hard to find time to jump on here and get things done. Fear not, I will get to you and since the memberships start in January, you won't be missing anything! So many of you write such sweet notes when you send me your confirmations and I really wish that I could respond with a little note but please know that your comments are so appreciated! Many of you have been members from the start and the fact that you keep returning makes me fell all warm and fuzzy!!

So, please if you do not hear from me right away, be patient...I will get to you even if it is after the Holiday!!

Well, we got out the lights for the tree last night and only 4 strands work! I know that I bought new lights last year and it seems like every year I am buying more. I sat there for 3 hours checking them, changing fuses and bulbs (which I really think is a crock!) and am throwing out 12 strings of lights this morning! We put up 2 full size trees and I love tons of lights on them so I am off to Target to buy some more YET AGAIN! Remember when a light went out, you simply unscrewed it and put a new one in? I really wish that I had kept all those old lights and not threw them out when these new and improved ones came out. I swear, 'new and improved' really means :we found a way to make you have to spend more money'!

I finished making my cards...a very simple design (using the kit you are getting today) but at least they are homemade which was one of my goals this year! All my presents are wrapped, that is until DH brings over his that he has picked up without me knowing about it. Every year, I carefully make sure that I have spent the same amount on each of the kids and they have about the same amount of gifts under the tree and then DH decides on his own to shopping and throws it all off and I end up going out and buying more to make it even again. Every year we have this discussion and every year we need to have it again! LOL! All he says is "well, when you ask me if I have any ideas, I don't but then I think of something and just get it before I forget!" Needless to say, the kids always get more than the original budget was set for!

I am not sure how many will be around the table, so far 13 but that may increase by 2. I really don't mind since I have always told my kids that we can always find another chair and sit closer together so that no one is spending the day alone. It really amazes me how some of their friends have no place to go. I can't imagine NOT spending the day with my kids! I made little candy boxes for each place setting (also using today's kit) and I made 15 just in case! If any more show up I might be making some more at the last minute.

I found the greatest 'ornament' at Target!!!! They are little metal tubes (about 8") that say 'Letters to Santa' on them. I have saved all the kid's letters to and from Santa and just had them in a box. So, now I am going to put them in these and give them to them. I was so thrilled to find them! Every year, they get a new ornament so when they move out and set up their own tree, they will have enough to decorate it with ornaments that have memories. With them both being in their 20's they have so many now that our family tree is mostly their ornaments and very few of mine. But the second tree we put up is just the gold ornaments that DH has given me over the years from Danbury Mint so I really don't feel left out. Family tree in the living room and the gold tree in the dining room. We used to do a tree in each of the kid's rooms and in the dinette and the rest of my family thought I was nuts but, heh, Christmas only comes once a year! Then, there were the Santa footprints, the magic dust, the scraps of red velvet, the reindeer bells on the porch roof....geez my kid's were believers long past their times!!

First, I want to thank all of you that sent your condolences and prayers for my aunt. I appreciated them so much and my heart and prayers go out to those of you who have also lost loved ones recently...so many of you, like me, will be missing someone this Holiday and that makes it hard when it is so fresh in your minds.

My aunt was a great lady and so much fun! She never had any children so she really enjoyed her nieces and nephews! And, since she really didn't have to suffer the aftermath...she let us get away with and helped us get into so much mischief! She would just have her fun with us and then she would go home and let our parents deal with it! Never anything real bad just kid stuff since I don't think she ever wanted to admit she had grown up! Until about 8 years ago, she was living in Colorado and we convinced her to move here with us so she would be around family since she was all alone out there so we really got to know her on a more "adult" level and I am so thankful for that. It is some comfort to know that if she had survived this head injury, she would not have had the quality of life she would have been able to enjoy so, I think, this was God's blessing to take her so fast and peacefully. The day she passed, we went to the hospital after we got the call and I was standing out in the hallway and this cute little "angel" came over to me and asked if I was okay and could she get anything for me. She told me that she was my aunt's nurse's aide that day and wanted to let me know that she was with my aunt when she passed. She told me how she was so peaceful and how she held her hand, and how, when she knew she was gone, made the sign of the cross over her and recited the 23rd psalm. She hoped that I wasn't upset with her for doing that not knowing if we were religious or not. This girl touched my heart so much with those simple little acts of kindness and that is what I will carry with me when I think about that day. My aunt was not alone...she had an angel by her side!

So, thank you all for your love and support, and your understanding that I needed some time away.

Sometimes Real Life just isn't nice...

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was very quiet and nice although there was a dark cloud hanging over us.

My aunt fell on Monday and sustained a very bad head injury. This was the second time in 4 years that she had a severe brain injury and that along with her age and failing heart was just too much for her to overcome and she passed away today. I am not sure what the next week or so will bring since she is to be buried in Kansas. Although I would like to be there, I am not sure that a trip right now is something that is possible. In any event between this and still not feeling well with my back. I think I am going to take a break for a bit. Not too long, I will be back in December but for right now with all that is going on and trying to help my Mom through this and my kids who are taking it hard, my priorities are my family. I am sure that you will all understand and I thank you for that.

I am posting the last November kit tonight and I really hope you all like it. We have only had one little snow flurry here but I am sure more are coming! So here is Flurries and Flakes...enjoy!

Thank you all for the get well wishes! It is feeling some better and I am moving around a little but am still taking it real easy since Swanson HungryMan dinners are NOT what I am looking forward to on Thursday! Only 5 for dinner and my friend is going to be helping with the cooking as well as DH and DS so I think we will not have to resort to microwave. OMG, can you imagine even having to do that??? Of course, clean up would be a snap!

DD is going to be in New Jersey for the Holiday with her boyfriend visiting his sister and brother-in-law. This is the first time that one of my little chickens will fly the coop on a holiday and I am sure that on that day it will be a little hard but gotta let them go, I guess. One of those perks of getting older....right! I am more worried about the traffic and their safety on that day than I am upset about them not being here.

I will keep memberships for this term open until the the end of November and then will open them up for the term starting in January. It get so hectic at the end of the year and hopefully this will help dodge that. So If you want to join and get the kits that have been posted previously (well, at least since July) you still have some time. I also need to get some more kits in the shoppe since so many of you have asked for ones that are not there. What's the saying? A woman's work is NEVER done? Amen, sister!

I did get a kit uploaded for you though and I do have another to post after Thanksgiving that I think you will really like. Trying very hard to get in the Holiday spirit! I have been trying to come up with some different ideas for the Holidays, not the same old, same old, ya know?

Just to let you know...I hurt my back last week and have been restricted to bedrest since. Well, okay, after a couple of days I thought I was feeling better and did get up and try to do a few things and soon found out that it wasn't the smartest move I ever made! But, now I have seen the light and am doing what the doctor says and laying low except for the all too frequent trip to the bathroom! I did get a few emails answered tonight and am getting this posted and then it is back to bed and the heating pad ( and a few more pain pills, I'm afraid) Hopefully, the next couple of days will be better and I can get the kits uploaded for you. I may be posting 2 at a time to get caught up! Now...back to la-la land which is where the pills send me!

This week has flown by! I have been painting my bedroom and since I move at the speed of a snail, it just seems to take me forever to get things done! Almost finished...just a little trim to finish up and then it is on to the fun things like putting on the new comforter, changing the curtains, etc. I am also thinking about painting the bedroom set....so tired of it but there is no possible way that I can justify buying a new one since it is still in very good shape except for some wear and tear and, more importantly, can't afford it. It really took some doing to keep the ADHD in control and work only in the bedroom! LOL! As always, you paint one room and the next starts to look shabby! So far, the living room has been done and now the bedroom...that only leaves 5 other rooms!!

Before I go any further, I need to get a message out to Angie aka Surferchick....I have sent you about 5 emails with your passwords and sent you another one last night. Are you sure you have added me to your address book? Do you have a spam blocker on? Do you possibly have another email addy that I can try? I hate that I cannot get the passwords to you and I totally understand your frustration so let me know, okay?

Also, about the problems with 4Shared that everyone seems to have trouble with from time to time. I am not sure why one file gives you trouble when another one does not. IF you have trouble downloading a certain kit, please contact 4Shared directly. They have been asking me for information that I don't have when I complain such as what ISP you have, what OS you are using. Don't understand why they need so much of that info since I am not a computer nerd but they apparently do. I have check their forum also and find that they seem to be getting more complaints about this. If you do contact them, I would appreciate it if you would let me know that you did and what they did about it.

Okay.....so you liked Olive Juice, eh? LOL!! A little off the wall but a cute idea! I would love to see any pages that you make with it! My daughter was so eager to get the kit made but as yet hasn't done anything with it. She is very limited on time and I really don't know when she is going to actually get this done! With her "burning the candle at both ends" is an understatement! Between working and her social calendar she needs many more hours and days in a week...I am so jealous!!

I haven't done a kit for the guys in quite awhile so I thought I would post one that I had. Remember, Christmas is right around the corner and we all have men in our lives that might like an album for a gift. Don't know about you, but I am tightening the purse strings this Christmas and "home made" gifts might be a bit more plentiful this year!

As promised, I do have a new kit for you today! Remember I mentioned that my daughter wanted me to design her a kit for a present she was giving her guy? Well, this is the kit! It started from a quote from the movie "The Other Sister" where she is told that if she mouthed the words 'Olive Juice' it would look like she was saying 'I love you', something that DD picked up on and says to Mr. Special! Cute, right? Well, that was the inspiration for this kit. She told me I could share it with all of you so you could use it for the 'sweetie' in your life!! Now, there are personalized olives that I did just for her that I cannot share since I grabbed some clip art off the net that I cannot share in this kit but you can do that too as long as it is for personal use only. Things I grabbed were things like a saxophone, music notes, wine bottles and such since those are things they like to do! Not everything in this kit is shown in the previews and not everything has olives on it so you can still use for other things!

I have been a very bad blogger!!!!

I know, I know....bad, bad blogger! Things have just gotten so away from me that I just realized this morning that tomorrow is Halloween! Where did this month go??? Real life has been hectic...nothing bad, really, just the same old poop and I have gotten so that I when I am designing, I get another idea and then go off and start another kit without finishing the first so I don't forget what my "brilliant" idea was and consequently...lots of pots on the stove and still nothing to eat!! I promised to at least one of them finished up and packaged so that I can post it tomorrow!

I did promise you pictures of the new dog and I just downloaded them off my camera that I finally got back from my son and then I finally got the right cable from him so I could actually download them....yep...that's about how things have been going...hurry up and wait for someone else to do what they are supposed to do. Not a particularly stress-less way of life for a control freak like me!

My Mom, I guess is feeling better physically but mentally she has been so depressed and just seems angry and negative ALL the time. After years of working with geriatrics, you would think I would deal with this better but when it is one of your own...not so much. Plus with everything else that is going on that is positive, I am having a real hard time being around someone that is so negative about everything that I am happy about. My brothers are absolutely useless and clueless so there is quite a bit of family drama. MEN!!!

But, here are the pics of Pepe (with Bonnie peaking out from her covers!) and then another page of what my DD is putting these poor dogs through for Halloween!

Well, I am back and getting ready to leave again! We had such a great weekend but it was just too short! We didn't get up to the cabin until supper time on Saturday and although we stayed until Monday afternoon...just too short! The leaves were absolutely breathtaking, quite possibly the prettiest I have seen in a very long time. Still quite a bit of green so I am hoping that this weekend will be just as pretty. Of all the things to forget to bring with me....my camera!

So, I will be leaving again tomorrow and will probably be home on Monday evening. If I had my way...I would live up there and come home here occasionally!

Just to let you all know, I will be gone until Monday evening. I have just sent out the most current membership emails and I think you all should be all set for a bit.

As for 4Shared....I have no idea why most of you can download the kits and then 2 or three others cannot get to it at all. I am not doubting you, just saying I have no idea why. And, when I ask 4Shared about it, they always answer that they need more information, what OS you are using, what exactly it says on your screen, etc. SO, if you would please contact them when you really have this kind of problem, I would appreciate it and then let me know what they are saying. There forum is full of people complaining so obviously, they are having a problem. Sometimes they are just overwhelmed and if you try again later, you can get through. But some of you have been getting really weird messages.

As far as Nautica and Misfits, I did re-upload them to another account last night so if you did have trouble, please try again.

New Month, New Kit, Memberships....

I just can't believe that it is October already! Wasn't it just yesterday that I was complaining about the heat wave??? Time is sure moving much faster than I am!! LOL!!

Memberships are now open...the 3 Months that are included in this membership are October/November/December. My DD and her boyfriend are hosting their party, "Beer, Brats and Broads" this Saturday and they are so excited about it. Worrying about the food, will they have enough, who is going to show up...I hope they will relax and just enjoy being with their friends and family and not stress too much about if everyone is having a good time. Poor BF has not been feeling well... he caught the cold that DD had and I think it has gone into a sinus infection. Hopefully, by Saturday, he will be feeling better. I am really looking forward to it even though they have advised me that I will be playing beer pong! I don't drink beer!! Can we call it Dr. Pepper Pong???

I found a great blog....everyone else probably knows about it already but I have just recently started to get out and do a little blog surfing...Gunhilde Storeide! She has tons of Commercial Use Freebies that are just great! Some are scans and she does a great job...there is an art to great scanning and tubing! I used her frayed cloth in today's kit although I did play with it a bit! Check her out if you haven't already...you will be downloading for awhile!!

All else is going well...Mom is feeling a bit better each day and I am looking forward to the day she feels up to taking her dog back! Three dogs and 2 cats are just a bit too much for this old lady! Seem like my whole day is spent letting them out, then back in, feeding them, letting them out, then back in... you get the picture!

DH is doing great and it is so wonderful to actually look forward to seeing him. Sound weird? I think we all get into that rut when we don't show the excitement we feel when someone you love walks into the room. I know I certainly did and it is nice to feel that again. We are thinking of heading to the cabin after the party on Saturday just for a short respite. I thought the leaves would be peaking this weekend but they seemed to have stalled a bit which is nice since once they peak, they fall and then things just look so bleak.

Onto the first October Kit...Nautica! I was scanning a bunch of pics that we took on one of our vacations to Cape Cod and it got me in a nautical mood!! Thank you all for all the prayers and good thoughts for my Mom. She is home but she is still not feeling 100%. Very weak, tires easily, no real appetite. Took her to get her hair done today which did make her feel so much better though. I think she thought that as soon as she came home she would be back to normal and she is running a bit short of patience about letting this virus work out of her system! I thought patience was supposed to be a virtue of the elderly???? LOL!

I have a 'Freebie-For-All' for you! I know I am a bit early for this since Breast Cancer Awareness is next month but I thought if any of you were involved in any activities, you might appreciate it a bit early. I am giving this kit away since it is something that is very close to my heart since 2 of my most favorite people are BC Survivors.

So, this is free for you to celebrate a survivor or to tribute someone you may have lost to this horrendous disease. I only ask that instead of payment, you make sure that you are up to date on your mammograms, that you go to The Breast Cancer site and click to help get mammograms to those that cannot afford it and, if you are one of those that do need help to get a mammogram that you go to the American Cancer Society site to find out where you can go in your own community to get yourself checked. Please make the Breast Cancer site a daily visit. Contrary to what the emails about this site say, each click does not get a mammogram. It actually takes about 45,000 clicks but the site averages about 54,000 clicks per day...that comes out to 1.3 mammograms daily. If we all make it a daily stop, we can raise the number of mammograms that are given out so please, take a few minutes to do a little good for those in need!

Mom is still in the hospital...they won't let her out until she is eating and keeping it down and can get up and about without help. She told them that if they expect her to eat, they had better improve the hospital food so she is back to feeling a bit like herself! I am bringing her up supper so hopefully she will eat something! She was only 99 lbs. prior to this so God only knows what she is down to now! (I should have that problem...I could give her PLENTY!) Thanks for all the prayers...just a stomach virus but at her age (84) even that can be serious. Hugs and thank-you's to you all!

Real Life!!!

It will be kind of hit or miss for a while. My Mom was admitted to the hospital on Thursday and is still there. Doesn't look to be too serious since all her tests have come back negative...just a real nasty stomach virus that really shook her up and knocked the stuffings out of her. They have just started her on a solid diet today and hopefully she will be able to keep it down and be discharged tomorrow. I will jump on when I can to deal with emails and memberships (I know there have been quite a few...hopefully later tonight I will get your passwords out) but please have patience for a bit, okay???? Thanks, I know you will!!!

Didn't get to the cabin this past weekend...DH had too much to do to get ready for hunting season! LOL! Actually, he made dinner for my DS and myself which was so nice since with all the overtime my DS is working, we don't get to see him much. I'll give up my retreat to spend time with my family!! Don't know what is in store for this weekend but we are keeping a close eye on the foliage! It is getting to be that time of year when the northeast is about to burst into color! Had coffee with a friend today that just moved back here from Kansas and we got to talking about taking a ride to see the foliage and to the Yankee Candle factory...I hope we actually do it!

My DD and her guy are planning to have a Beer, Brats and Broads Bash on October 4th. (their name for it...not mine!) Actually more of a fall picnic than a beer fest but whatever...should be fun! I hope the weather holds out for them as they are so excited about it! Then before you know it...it will be time for Thanksgiving, then Christmas....AND I have already started my Christmas shopping!! Hopefully, THIS Holiday season will be much merrier than last!

Just a fun little kit for you! I haven't finished Rustic Retreat, yes, I changed the name...thanks for all the suggestions! And, my DD asked me to design a kit for her for a present she is giving to her boyfriend. She said that she would let me post it so you will be getting that one also...and it is CUTE!

Rainy weather here and my joints are sure letting me know about it! But compared to the devastation that some of the other parts of the country are going through...I will take the rain! DH and I will probably head for the cabin tomorrow even if it is just for overnight. I don't know if the rain is supposed to continue or not but even if it does...light the wood stove and snuggle in some afghans and watch some movies!! Heh! Beats staying home and doing laundry!

About Selena...I don't know why she closed her blog but since she is a new Mommy and had so many other things that she was involved with, it is no wonder that she just probably ran out of time and had to cut down. Hopefully, we will hear from her again!

You would think that when I wanted to do a LO or something that I would have something to work with since my hard drive is bursting but somehow that is never the case! Last weekend when we went to the cabin, my friend who has been living the year from hell came up with her youngest son for a much needed respite. Things have not been going well for her and Friday night she had just gotten another load dumped on her so I was thrilled when she took me up on my offer of a weekend in the mountains! To see her SO relaxed was such a thrill for me! Anyway, she had found this quote that she liked and last night asked if I could print it up 'nice' for her. LOL! She should know me well enough that I just don't type some words on a page and print that out! Got to embellish!! But, when I thought about it, all I could picture was her sitting in the lounge chair reading and smelling the pig roasting and, quite frankly, relaxing in what we call God's country and giving her troubles over to Him for a few days. I just couldn't find anything that seemed to fit so a new kit is being born. This just reminds me of the rustic nature of the cabin and the warm comfort that I feel knowing that she is my friend. Back from the Mountain!!!!

We all had a wonderful time! Well, that is, except for the pig! Couldn't have asked for better weather and certainly could not ask for better friends and family to be around. My DS couldn't make it which is the only thing that I wish were different but he had the chance to work over time on the holiday and that meant it was triple time so work won out. We were really dragging our feet getting ready to come home and I really think that if we did not have things to do today and last night...we would still be there! But, summer is really coming to an end...saw lots of trees that were beginning to turn already which means in a couple of weeks the beauty of the cabin will take on a whole new look! There really isn't a season that is not beautiful up there though even in winter, the snow seems prettier up there!

So, as promised here is Pink Lemonade! Now, it really isn't a quilting theme, that quilt came about when I was doing the preview of the papers and once I had all the papers together...thought, gee, wouldn't that make a pretty quilt! Sorry that I scared so many of you! Rest assured that I will never take up quilting...ever since they started to make the eyes of the sewing needles so much smaller, sewing is not something I enjoy! (I know...but I choose to see it that way rather than my eyes have gotten so bad that I can't see the eye of the needle anymore!)

Sorry....I just couldn't resist! Actually, I will be gone for a long weekend. Guess where...oh, come on! Guess! Oh, all right, you know me too well! Yes, to the cabin...where else! We are going to do a pig roast for Labor Day and we will probably stretch it out for a couple of days so I might not be home until Tuesday evening.

I spent the entire day finishing up kits! This was the first time in a long time that the design bug bit my slumpy butt and it actually felt good! But, now it is time to call it quits so I am going to tuck the little bug in for the night, sing him a lullaby and hope he sticks around for a bit. I could go for an over dose of creativity for a change!

I won't be leaving until Saturday so I will be checking emails until then but if you send me one over the weekend...it won't get answered until Wednesday.

This month has just seemed to fly by and time has really gotten away from me! My apologies for being MIA...I really didn't think it had been so long!

I guess the break-in did more of a number on me than I thought since I have been going through a Fibro Flare for the past couple of weeks and it really knocked me on my ass! Now, don't go getting the obscenity police onto me for that...I am usually very good about bleeping myself but that is exactly where this flare sent me! LOL!

So. let's catch you up on Life with Jannidee....

The break-in....DD was cleaning up her room and came out and said..."I know this is a stupid question but did you take my IPod Shuffle?" "Excuse me? You are talking to a woman that had a hard time walking and listening to a walkman!" So we called the police and added it to the missing items. They called her yesterday and thought that they had found it at a pawn shop but it wasn't hers. They said that the kid's girlfriend had pawned it so that sounds like they know who did it although we don't know for sure. Things don't really happen like on TV where they keep you informed! Sleeping is becoming better since DD is home from vacation. The windows have gone back to being open during the day but at night they are still in the locked position. Thank goodness we have the windows that can be locked and still be open about 3 inches or I might have died from heat stroke!

DD had a great time in Bar Harbor with her boyfriend's family and they are all hinting about...when is the wedding? I have been wondering the same thing but have learned to keep my mouth shut! They are both starting to go back for their Master's and trying to save for a house so I think it will still be awhile before I will be trying to find something borrowed, something blue!

DS has been going through a very bad time with his ears. He has always had problems with them since birth and for awhile he was doing good but a couple of weeks ago he got an ear infection and even though he has been on antibiotics, it just doesn't want to clear up. He is in a panic since the last time this happened, the doctor started to talk about doing a mastoidectomy and that has him scared to death. His hearing has already been compromised from all the ear infections and scarring and I just wish I could make it better for him. Then he twisted his bad knee and couldn't put any weight on it and since that is the knee that is involved in the lawsuit, he has been going to the doctor for that to make sure that this is not going to be a long term concern.

Kids may grow up but we are still and will always be Moms and worry about them, right?

The Furbabies.....Help!!! I feel like I am running a kennel!!! Pepe IS a handful! As an un-neutered male he was making my Beagle's life miserable! I don't know why since Bogie is also a male (neutered) but it seems like every un-neutered male that meets him wants to hump him! And, the moosh just stands there and lets them and all the time he is looking at me like he is saying...Mom, make them stop! We did find out that one of our neighbors moved and just left this little guy to fend for himself so if they are the kind of person to do that, you know that they did not train him very well or pay too much attention to him. The poor little guy seems to have no clue as to what toys are or how to play. So, he has all this energy and no way to get rid of it! My Mom was exhausted trying to take care of him so I would give her a break and keep him with me but then that meant, I had to deal with him! He is so cute but considering his background and lack of training, I am not sure that she is going to be up to the task. Luckily, one of our neighbors has told us that if it doesn't work out, he knows several people that would love to have him and since this guy is a rescue-er, I would trust him to make sure he had a good home.

But, yesterday was "Let's all go to the Vet" day and Pepe was neutered and hopefully will calm down quite a bit now. My 2 dogs were due for their shots... let's just say, I made the vet's mortgage payment this month!! Lordy! Bogie ended up having a ruptured cyst on his butt that I hadn't noticed so now he is on antibiotics....and I thought my nursing career was behind me! And, apparently, his teeth need to be cleaned...wonder how much THAT is going to run? What happened to the days when you had a dog and all you had to do was get them a license and feed them????

Everything else is about the same so I guess that about catches you all up on my life!

NOW....many of you have asked about Anita and I guess things are getting a little heated with the comments on her blog. I don't know what to tell you because, I can't seem to get in touch with her either and I am getting VERY concerned. So, I do not have any answers for you and I will not make any judgements about my friend. She has been going through something that I would not wish on anyone and I for one, will give her all the time that she needs and keep her in my prayers.

So...........................................now that you have suffered through all my ramblings and you have been so patient in waiting for a new kit....how about I give you TWO to try to finish off this month?

Okay, this not being able to sleep is getting real old! It's kind of like sleeping in a new place where very sound makes you wonder what it is! This is an old house and has lots of noises which I guess I had gotten used to but now they just set my imagination going! Argh!

Heh...what's up with the number of comments? Am I talking to myself here? The number of comments has fallen way off especially with the samplers. If it wasn't for the the few regulars that ALWAYS leave a comment on the freebies, I would stop giving them out at all. Beginning to feel a little left out here...other than Maria, I am never mentioned in any of the freebie lists that I find, very few comments, not asked to go in on any collab kits...have I been black listed and not know it? Oh, well, I guess we will just have my own little gang here but it sure would be nice to be as interactive with the comments like it was before!!! HINT! HINT!

DH invited me for dinner tonight...he really is a great cook and I told him if and when we get back together he can HAVE the kitchen! LOL! He is really doing very well in getting his sh-t together and this "dating" is actually fun! We have been watching the Olympics, especially the swimming and diving since he was on the swim and diving team in high school and was the state champion in his senior year. So it is fun getting his input on it...he certainly sees a lot more wrong with the dives than I do! So far, I think the whole things has been great especially the opening ceremony....WOW! I was just awe struck at the precision of it all. About the only event I really haven't watched is the water polo. Just can't seem to get into that although I have to admit that it just baffles me the strength it must take to do all that swimming back and forth and back and forth and back and forth!

Mom gets her new puppy in the morning. The dog warden will drop him off to us (how's that for service???) after she goes to the kennels to feed and exercise all the dogs. We have a great dog warden who really cares for the dogs and takes very good care of them which is so nice because some of them around here are just so terrible that it is sad. Good thing she is dropping him off here because I am a sucker for rescue dogs and cats and would probably come home with more than the one for my Mom! As soon as I get my camera back from my son I will definitely post a pic of him....he is sooo cute!! I think she has decided to call him Pepe leBarque! It really is hysterical because she never really was a dog person. She loves my dogs and we had dogs all the time when we were growing up but she never really had too much to do with them. But she really fell head over heels for this little guy! She has already gone puppy shopping and bought him a collar, leash, toys, brush matching food and water bowl....think this little guy will be spoiled much??

DD is on vacation and is upset that she will not get to see him until next week! It is going to be very hard to keep reminding ourselves that this is my Mom's dog and not another one in "our" family! She went to Maine with her boyfriend's family for the week and is staying in Bar Harbor which is one of my favorite places. It is just so beautiful up there! I am so jealous....I have been checking into some places thinking that maybe it is time for a little vacation myself!

Well, I guess it is time for another kit...what do you think? I love pansies, well, I love all flowers but pansies are one of my favorites! So here ya go.....Perfectly Pansy!

Back up and running...

I just sent out the memberships and links for those of you that joined or purchased from the shoppe this week.

My computer with all my scrap files was not taken..thank goodness...since it was a desktop, I guess and since my bedroom is right off the room that it is in and probably would have made too much noise to disassemble. The computers that were taken were in my daughter's room which is in the back of the house (she was away for the weekend...yes, I was home alone!) Whoever took a few other things but it is more the feeling of violation more than financial loss. They were able to lift some prints and hopefully can match them up to some of the other break-ins in the neighborhood. According to the detective, they do have a couple of suspects.

Our Jack Russell is in a crate at night and she won't bark when she is in there but why the Beagle didn't bark is beyond me! Of course, part of me is glad he didn't since I might have gotten up and come face to face with the scumbag! It is just so unnerving to think that someone was walking around in here and I didn't know about it! So sleeping has become a problem but I am sure that time will take care of that eventually. I worry since my Mom is very hard of hearing and if I am not home she really doesn't hear anything! But, as fate would have it...on Friday of last week, we had a stray dog come into our yard and she just fell in love with it! We called the dog warden and she did come get it but we told her that if no one claimed it, we wanted it back! She called this morning to let us know that unless someone should call tomorrow, the dog is ours! Or, I should say, my mom's! Going to be hard not to take this little guy over! He got along with my dogs and cats, was great in the house, comes when you call him...so cute! A little Pomeranian and unlike some, not yippy or snappy. When I had him in the house, I went to the cookie jar to get the dogs a treat and he immediately started to do some tricks so someone spent some time with him. I am so surprised that no one has claimed him but as the dog warden said, they are finding more and more dogs just dropped off since people cannot afford to take care of them anymore. She will drop him off on Monday so Mom is very excited! Hopefully, this will fill the void in her life a little and give her something to take care of and keep her company which, hopefully, will make my life a bit easier!

So inside the gray cloud is some sunshine...at least that is how I am choosing to look at it! Although my windows are down and locked and the doors are kept locked all the time now which is a bi---h in this heat but....I will just have to suck up the electric bill to keep cool! DH has spent the past couple of night's here and that has helped some. The whole thing baffles me! Why didn't the dog bark, why break into a house where someone is home that has dogs to steal so little? My daughter had 2 diamond necklaces right next to a jar of change that they took but they left the necklaces! Well, I guess if you are dumb enough to be robbing houses then you are not the sharpest tool in the shed!

There was a break in across the street that the police made the arrest for. (Of course, the kid is out on bail) and hopefully, the rest of the break ins can be tied to him so there will be some sort of closure to this. So glad they got some prints! Thank you all for your patience and for your prayers! Very sad commentary on our society that people are doing this. I know that there has always been crime but the up swing lately is so frightening.

I have gotten notification that there are some new memberships and purchases from my shoppe but as of right now, I cannot access the information from PayPal. Our house was broken into and some computers stolen so all the access codes and passwords have to be changed for everything for all of us. Between that, trying to remember everything that needs to be changed and taken care of and dealing with the police...things are a little hectic in addition to all of us being a nervous wreck since it happened while we were sleeping. I will get the passwords to you for your memberships and for the purchased kits but it may take a few days to get things settled down. Thank you for your patience.

The thunderstorms moved in about 12:30 and I don't ever remember being so glad to see rain before!! I love going to Tag Sales and although I will sometimes try to round down my TOTAL purchase, I don't stand there and barter each and every 50 cent item!!! Plus the ad and the signs said 9AM......not 6:30AM! We had people ringing the doorbell at that hour! My Mom and I planned on being outside at 7Am to finish setting up and pulling things out of the garage but these people were REALLY annoying...grabbing stuff that wasn't for sale, getting in your way.......My back door is right by the garage and I went inside to let the dogs out for their morning "business" and some lady had piled up all her stuff on my stairs so I couldn't even get back out my door and wasn't going to move it! Not being a morning person anyway, I told her she either moved her stuff or the dogs would pee on it! She actually stood there and told me that some people were afraid of dogs and I shouldn't have them out! To which I told her, if she had come at 9AM like the sign said, she wouldn't have to deal with the dogs but since she obviously couldn't read, she would have to deal with it! I understand there will be early birds even when you specifically say no but to be ringing the bell when you are 2 and a half hours early...lucky they didn't get me peeing on them!!! AND, the day just went downhill from there...so glad it rained and even though it was thundering and lightening, after we had covered everything, brought stuff back into the garage and closed the door...we had 2 groups ringing the bell asking where the tag sale was!!!! It was pouring!!!! Oh, joy!!! Get to do this all over again tomorrow morning!! And, we had also decided to just leave the stuff in the garage, add to it if we could and have another in September....Someone just shoot me now!

Wendy...I just joined Freecycle.com and will be sending out that message after the tag sale in September...I got this stuff out of my house and there is no way, I want it back in or have to deal with packing it all up and bringing it somewhere! Thanks for the tip though!

So, I came inside to do something I enjoy and got this kit all packed up and uploaded....I love hot air balloons and would love to take a ride in one but my fear of heights is kinda getting in the way of that. Don't think a panicking old broad would be a real safety plus once we were up in the air! Thought about drugging myself first but I would have to take so much that I probably wouldn't remember the ride! LOL!

I REALLY hate having a Tag Sale!

Sorry that I have been a little MIA of late...getting ready for a tag sale and I seem to have a lot more 'stuff' than I thought I had! Every time we have one, we always say "never again". But, then you start cleaning and say, well...we'll just donate these things and then you realize how much you have and think, well, I could make a few dollars! But, I am not entirely sure that the effort to get it all out and ready is worth the little you make! Plus, the cost of running the ad...$41 in one of the newspapers!!

I did really clean out my 'craft room'...lots of little wood pieces, flowers, and assorted craft stuff that I will never use again! So much easier and space conserving to create on the computer! Could not force myself to get rid of all my painting stuff though but I haven't done any decorative painting in so long that I am not sure how good I would be at it anymore.

So, I am going to get all the memberships done tonight and then it will probably be Monday before I do them again. Have a great weekend all and pray that it doesn't rain in Connecticut, okay??

Pondering Lady Bugs

I love lady bugs! I think most people do...why is it that most bugs make us "creepy" but a lady bug, we will let crawl all over our hands and if you are like me, if I find one in the house, I make sure that it gets safely outside instead of stepping on it or whacking it with a news paper? Still a bug, still has the same number of legs, still has an ugly bug face if you use a magnifying glass...guess it pays to be a lady! And, where are the gentleman bugs? Obviously, there must be some or we wouldn't have all the lady bugs! Do they get upset that they have been labeled as feminine? Do they have little activist groups fighting for their rights? Support groups to help them compensate for their lack of self esteem? What do they tell their sons? And, how do they cope with their teenage daughters growing up with a sense of entitlement and superiority?

Anyway....here is Lucky Buggy Lady....a bright summery kit to celebrate those little 'women' that have taken equal rights to an all time high!

Phew!!! I am kinda glad this weekend is over! It was a busy one with family and friends (not the part that I am glad is over) but it was HOT AND HUMID! I don't do so well in this weather and this change of medication seems to make it worse! Yuck! But, I am alive and even though I feel like a soppy wet dishrag with not one ounce of energy, I am thankful!

Our best friends' parents have been visiting them from New Mexico and will be leaving tomorrow so before they left we wanted to all get together and have one last "sit down"! So my friend and I put out a great dinner of steak, stuffed shrimp and all the trimmings! We had 11 around the table with her kids and mine and assorted others and had a great time. Of course, her parents LOVE this weather and later on in the evening when things were starting to cool down a bit and we were sitting outside, they went in and got sweat shirts! LOL! I think the temperature had dropped to about 90!

DS and DH finally got the lights on DS's car finished after another 6 hours of working on them. Personally, I don't see that big of a difference but they do! I guess I am just not the car nut that they are. To me a car should look 'okay' and get you from point A to point B without breaking down! But, this car is his baby and he wants to trick it all out and go to rallies and such. I am thankful that that is what he is into instead of what so many kids his age are into!

Then yesterday DH and I had to go to court. We had filed for a continuance for reconciliation and we had to make an appearance. For the amount of time we were there actually in front of the judge, it really did seem like a waste of getting dressed and make-up! So we made a date of it and went for breakfast after. Things in that department are going fairly well...lot's of talking being done, guidelines being set and, just in general, getting to know one another again without all the BS! I am still cautious and will probably always be but...more optimistic than before. Thank you all for all the private emails with your kind words and support...they do mean so much!

And, speaking of being at court! OMG! I was just floored how some, nay, most of the people came dressed! Especially to the criminal court! I mean...if I was arrested and had to go to court to plead my case, I think I might at least change out of my grubby clothes or pajamas, take a shower and try to look less guilty! I saw more baggy butts and boxers, tank tops and bare midriffs, short shorts and filth than I cared to! And, the language! I am NO prude but I think truckers would have been blushing! It really was like being at a very low class circus. Lordy!

My living room....the room being painted is still in upheaval and is really starting to get to me! But, I start to do something and poop out so it is taking some time to put it all back together. Painting is done but now hanging the curtains, cleaning the furniture, polishing the hardwood floor...ummmm....not so much! Today is not so bad so hopefully, I will get most of it done today. Then, of course, I went and bought the paint for the bedroom...what am I thinking? Somebody knock some sense into my head!

Hmmmm...the awards some of you have nominated me for...I do so appreciate them. But, lately, I really have not been blog hopping the way I once did. Time is so tight with all that is going on. So as much as I appreciate them, I really do not know how to nominate other blogs since I don't "get out" that much! Most of the blogs that I would nominate have already been nominated. I can't remember the last time I downloaded something or checked a site...not being uppity or anything like that but between personal life and memberships and getting back into designing...I just haven't been 'surfing'. I do appreciate that you think enough of me to give me awards but I hesitate to post them on my blog since I can't comply with nominating others they way I should. I hope you understand.

I sent all the passwords for the memberships that came in over the weekend and the links for those that purchased from the shoppe so check your emails. Jeannine...sent you an email about the trouble you were having with the May and June kits. If you are still having trouble, make sure you let me know.

Anyone going to the beach?

Hello on this beautiful day!! Now if I could just get my butt going and get out and enjoy it...I would be happy! But, alas, I have no car! My DS and DH were putting in new and fancy headlights in my son's car and after working on them for about 6 hours and almost finished...a piece broke and they couldn't finish it so I lent my DS my car and probably won't get it back for a week! Why is it that if your car is out in the driveway, you can go for days without going anywhere but as soon as you can't use it, you can think of a million things you need it for!!

We did have a nice day in Rhode Island although the meeting with the lawyer was not at all what we expected. Still more questions but he did say that it will be finalized, one way or the other, in a couple of months. We checked out some clamming and fishing sites and it was such a pretty day to be driving along the shore.

DD still does not have her new car but she did get her braces! This is the second time around for them and she is really hurting with them. Her wisdom teeth really caused havoc with her teeth shifting and the last orthodontist was such a jerk about it when it started to happen like with all his experience, he didn't know this was going to happen. He was the one that told us they were growing in sideways and would crowd her teeth and to make sure we came back when it started to happen! So she is going to the guy that USED to be this guys partner but gee....for some reason, he left the practice! You can fill in the blanks on that one! He did give her a discount since he knew the story but still is a hefty chunk of change for her to pay.

I got my lecture from the doctor as expected but he is so nice that I really didn't mind. I guess if he didn't give me a lecture, I would think he didn't care. Medication change so hopefully it will help. Golden Years, my patootey!

We have quite a few new members and there is some confusion about what kits are available with the membership. The membership is for July/August/September. The password you were sent will only give you access to those kits given out in those months not the kits given out previous to July. Some of the older kits are available in the shoppe and the others will be available in the future as kit packages. I am sorry if there is confusion about this but I have read and re-read the information on the membership page and I really do not how much clearer I can make it.

Also, if you have trouble getting your password to work and you are sure you are not trying to download an older kit, make sure you are typing it in correctly. Passwords are case sensitive and sometimes "copy and paste" does not work. Also, some other members have problems if they use their ISP but have no problem going through IE(InternetExplorer). As always, if you have tried everything...let me know.

putergrl1...sent you another email. I did leave you a message her on the 9th when your mail came back undeliverable because of a full mail box. Hopefully you have taken care of that and got your password.

Some of you have asked about my daughter's car...not so affectionately known in our family as The Sour Lemon! She will be getting a new one hopefully this weekend since they still cannot figure out what is wrong with it. Their head mechanic took it home with him after they thought they had it fixed and ended up having to be towed to work the next morning! I hope that this is finalized soon so this little sage in her life can be put to rest!

Tomorrow, DH, DS and I are headed to Rhode Island to meet with my son's lawyer. He feel at the apartment that he was living at about 4 years ago and injured his knee. The landlord's insurance company has dragged their feet for this whole time...we lost the paperwork, the agent that was handling the case was fired, etc....so we finally had to get a lawyer involved after talking to the insurance commissioner. Our insurance covered all his medical so all we were really looking for was reimbursement of the co-pays, travel expenses since he had to drive back home 3 times a week for therapy, etc...not all that much really. But, since they choose to ignore the whole thing, the lawyer is going for much more. They fooled around for so long that the statute of limitations was running out and then tried to tell us since we let it go, they wouldn't have to pay! Gotta love insurance companies, right? Hopefully, we will have good news tomorrow. He still has problems with his knee and it will never be 100%...gotta wonder what their logic is...pay a little or get sued for a lot!

Me...I am headed for the doctor this afternoon since my BP is not behaving and I guess it is time to have it checked out. BP high, pulse really low and my feet and ankles are about twice the size they should be. Now, I don't have the most shapely legs going but lately they go straight down from the hips and even flip flops are tight! So attractive!!! I am preparing myself for the lecture that I am sure to get! My doctor is younger than me (LOL! most people are younger than me at my age!) and he has no trouble yelling....somehow that seems more intimidating!

Well...gonna go answer some more emails. I do want to thank you all for the nice comments. I wish that I could answer all of you instead of just sending out the passwords but time is an issue. Just know that I do read each one and your prayers and compliments are so appreciated. LOVE YOU ALL!

Andrea wrote to me and asked if it was possible to get the hatboxes separately. In the past, I cleaned out my "working" files when I was done with a kit but just recently I started to save them. This kit was started quite some time ago and I was afraid that I didn't have them anymore but, thankfully, I did! Ummm, and Andrea....I had better get an email showing me what your idea was!! LOL!!

Okay...so a member didn't get the first email with her password from me and I sent her another that, fortunately, she did get. Why? Who knows...technology is great when it works and baffling when it doesn't and it got me wondering, and I sent her this reply.....

Thank you all for your kind comments. I think it is all too easy to forget that there is a real person at the other end of an email and all too easy to be rude and critical when it is done by typing, a certain security in being a faceless person. Today, with all the spam blockers, firewalls, etc., it is so hard to get all the ISP's to play nice together and so difficult to understand how to get them to do so! Easier to blame someone, I guess, especially when you don't understand how to fix the problem or even know that there is one.

Some other "problems".....

putergrl1....mail returned...mailbox full. Please email me when the problem is fixed.

There have been a couple of others (I think you will know who you are) that have "VERY NICELY" asked that I check because they have not received their passwords. I did send them and sent them again today. Please check your spam blockers since you say that you did add me to your address book. Maybe sending me a different email to try might help.

Also, check the email that you used for PayPal. Unless you have told me differently, that is where I send the passwords.

The cabin was great as always even though the weather was not. Lots of rain and cloudy days but still enough clear to make it nice. DH was there, DS was there for a couple of days and DD stopped in with her 'favorite guy' for a visit. Lots of personal fireworks which made the dogs crazy but because of the weather not much else. Even still, was not real thrilled to come home to reality! LOL!

I do have a new kit for you....The Hatbox. I started this kit with the papers and it reminded me of those pretty boxes you can get for storage and decided to go that route. Hope you enjoy!!

I am back home and have started to answer the emails that came during my ANNOUNCED ABSENCE.

All memberships, unless you have already been contacted to the contrary, ended June 30th. I have NEVER offered yearly memberships and I only offer 6 month memberships twice a year...January to June and July to December.

I answer each email myself. There is no automated system. I announce if I am going to be away for an extended time. I also do not live on my computer; I eat, sleep and have a real life just like all of you. I also, most likely, live in a different time zone than you. I don't feel like 24 hours to reply is asking too much.

I repeat...READ the membership info carefully and follow the instructions. ADD my name to your address book, turn off your spam blocker until after you get the passwords, check your spam/trash/bulk folders.

Liz Cheetham...I have answered EVERY SINGLE EMAIL YOU SENT. Please download this (link has been removed since if you haven't downloaded it by now ...well, not much else I can do!) and then let me know if you want to be a member or not. A refund will gladly be issued.

Believe me, what would I benefit from keeping some one's membership fees and NOT issuing the passwords? It is not like each membership is a huge amount of money, it certainly would not encourage members to join if you didn't get passwords so I would be hurting myself by not doing so. I am VERY liberal in my terms of use instead of charging a huge commercial fee, and I also "gift" numerous memberships. I really resent being called a fraud and a thief and if that is how you feel, your $6, $12 or whatever will be gladly refunded.

Well, here it is July 1st and I suppose you are all planning your big 4th of July bashes! I will be going up the cabin on Thursday for the long weekend. Lots of fireworks, picnics, tag sales, craft fairs going on so I am REALLY looking forward to it! I did not do a kit for this Holiday because, quite frankly, I could not come up with anything better than one that Anita and I did together, Old Glory, or the one that Amy W. got everyone to collaborate on, Liberty Everlasting! Kind of like, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! But, I couldn't let such an important holiday for us Yanks go by without something so...it is time for an Oldie But Goodie! It has been a lon-n-n-n-g week! Monday and Tuesday were the wake and funeral for my friend's father. A very tough time for everyone and, of course, now that all the activity has calmed down it is even harder for her and her family. I pray that this is the end of all the bad times for her family and they can start having some good times. Her son did come up from his rehab and he looks wonderful and seems to be doing so good. We spent quite a bit of time with him and I am sure it wasn't all an act so that is such great news. He is a different person to talk to!

Wednesday, I filled in for another good friend as "Mom" for her daughter's Freshman Orientation to college since they already had their vacation planned. Got everything done...schedule, id, parking permit, etc...and had a good time with it all! I think I enjoyed hers better that the ones for my kids...probably because I knew I wasn't financially responsible! LOL!

Then, yesterday, my daughter called at 7AM to tell me that her NEW car broke down yet again! She had just gotten it back on Monday after the dealer had had it for almost a month! This is the 3rd time it has broken down. The last time it broke down on the railroad tracks, she was crossing them and it just stalled out, and this time it dies in the middle of the worst intersection in our town! So, it meant going to wait with her for the tow and then get her to work! The dealer is now looking into getting her a new car and will get back to her on Monday about how they will proceed. The problem is that she has a 2008 Wolfsberg edition and there are no more available. And, they have to replace it with the same or better. I feel bad for her, not only the safety issue but, she was so thrilled about buying her first NEW car and this has really burst her balloon.

Today, so far is quiet although I should be painting! Should be...but my get up and go, got up and went! All my living room furniture is in the middle of the room right now and I am so impatient to get it all finished but the body says differently!

I have gotten caught up on all the memberships that came in this week so check you emails! The ones that come in today, I will get to later tonight. Thank you all for the continued support! And, newcomers...your membership starts in July so that is why your passwords do not work on the kits already posted. Please read the membership information carefully.

Some sad news

I just learned from Candy of Scraps of Candy that the scrapping community has lost a good friend. Ruth Singer of Sugarshack Scraps lost her battle to cancer on June 15th after only receiving the diagnosis a short time ago. I did not know Ruthie very well. When she started her Members Club, we exchanged a few emails about getting her started but I did admire her drive and her talent. She will be missed. Please stop by her blog and leave a message for her family and friends who are going through such a difficult time right now... SugarShack Scraps

And, there might be some delays getting the password info to those of you who join in the next few days. My friend's father passed away yesterday after having a heart attack and, helping her, in anyway I can, is my priority. His services will be (tentatively) on Monday and Tuesday so please be patient with getting your information around that time.

I am starting to send out the new membership info so make sure that you keep an eye out for it. Thank you all for your continued support....some days it is all of you that keep my world on it's course!

It is a beautiful day here in New England and, hopefully, our first day without thunder and lightening! We have had some pretty bad storms and they knocked out my internet connection for a couple of days! It is pretty interesting around here when we have a storm...Bogie, the Beagle, sleeps through them but I swear he snores louder (maybe to drown out the noise), Bonnie, the Jack, hides in the computer cabinet and trembles, Lily runs from window to window chasing the lightening and Lola, ever the aristo'cat', just seems bored by the whole show!

I will be ending the April/May/June memberships today since I have posted links for NEW memberships in the Membership Information page. Yep, it is that time! 6 month memberships are being offered again (and will not be offered again until the end of December) and of course, the 3 month membership. Please make sure you read thoroughly and follow the steps I have outlined to make my life and your life easier! I hope you have all enjoyed your memberships and will consider resubscribing!

The WEDDING CONTEST winner is Carole N. for her son's wedding! The colors are pink/blue/lavender which should be very pretty. I have started the kit and hope to have many of the elements in gray tone also so that you can re-color to suit your needs! So hold on to those wedding pics for awhile longer...hopefully, I will have the kit ready in a couple of weeks and then we will set up for the quickpage exchange! Congrats, Carole! Things here are going pretty well. Much happier and optimistic (although still cautious). Did get some bad news the other day for my friend that has been having that horrendous run of bad luck with her sons...her Dad had a heart attack and is not doing very well. He is 84 and has a bad heart to begin with. So, once again, I am asking for prayers to be sent her way. This poor gal...she just can't seem to catch a break. Although her son is now in a rehab in Florida and does seem to be doing very well. She had sent her hubby down there for Father's Day to spend some time with him and although he cannot find a job, he is still clean and seems to have his head on straight. He would like to stay down there which, although I know she will miss him, might be good to get him away from his "friends" up here.

Still am in the middle of painting. Haven't really made any progress!!! LOL! That ADHD is rearing it's annoying head again! I have to patch a couple of holes where we took out some heating pipes from the old radiators and not quite sure how to do it so I keep putting it off. Plus, it has been so nice during the day that it seems the gardens keep calling me outside to "putz". Unfortunately, the rain makes the grass grow too fast but it has been good for the flowers! Except for the peonies! Why is it that as soon as they bloom, we get hit with rain and wind so that it beats the blooms to bits? Seems like it happens every year. Such a shame since, IMHO they are the most beautiful flower! Everything though seems loaded with bloom this year and it is so pretty!

Guess that is about it....oh, wait! Would you like a kit? Let me twist your arm a bit and see if you answer yes....LOL! Happy Father's Day!

Hope you are all treating all the Dads in your lives to a special day! The kids and I will be bringing supper over to DH's house later on and spending a relaxing evening there. We had thought about taking him out to eat but pizza from his favorite place and playing cards is much more his style!

Yesterday we went to a graduation party for the last of our "babies". My best friend's daughter is graduating high school on Thursday. Seems like only yesterday that we were fighting with her to wear earrings so everyone would know she was a girl and now she couldn't be more girlie if she tried!! She recently lost close to 100 pounds and to say that she is enjoying her new self would be an understatement. She feels great and has so much more confidence but is still the sweet, level headed girl she was. Lots of her friends were there and I must say, I don't remember looking like that when I was that age!

Played my first game of beer pong! Honestly, don't see the thrill of it especially since I do not like beer! But some of the older kids were playing it and so the geriatric crowd had to get into the fun of it. A great day until the skies opened up and chased everyone inside!

WE (meaning all of you) have a NEW Family Member. I received an email from Annelize announcing the arrival of "Blob"! So glad that they decided not to really call this sweet little baby that and actually named him Jonathan Dirk! Congratulations Annie and Matthew! And, Happy Father's Day!

Bad, Bad Blogger!

No, I didn't drop off the face of the earth although lately there have been some days when I wished I had! Just seems like I couldn't get into the swing of things lately and got into a real funk!

We just finished with a HEAT WAVE here in the Northeast and it was a killer! Too early to have had temps that high (our thermometer peaked at 104.7) and the humidity was so high that just sitting quietly was uncomfortable! Everyone was caught off guard with no air conditioners in their windows and plus with the electricity as high as it is, I for one was very reluctant to put them in! Plus, it would have meant me trying to get them up out of the cellar and in the windows! So, tried to make due with the fans but by the 4th day, I relented and put the one in my bedroom in and then the animals and I hung out in there all day! But, it was miserable! That much heat and humidity just zaps you of all energy especially when sleeping in that heat is next to impossible!

The first day of the heat wave, this brainiac got the idea to take the living room carpet up and get rid of it since it needs to be replaced and DH and DS said they would be over that day to make a "dump run". So DD and I got it out of the house which wasn't too bad since it was still early in the morning and not yet the real heat wave. Then with the living room all torn apart, it was abundantly clear that the room needed some attention so I decided to get it ready to paint! Some one call me an idiot! So, armed with spackle and sandpaper, I took down the curtains and shades, patched and sanded and got one window primed before I was a dripping sweatball with not one ounce of energy left! LOL! It is still in the same state now as it was Saturday night! Hopefully, tomorrow I will start back in! Of course when I get that room done, the dining room will look dingy and then the next room and the next. DH is a painter so this is both comical and infuriating that now I am getting the "Let's Paint" bug!

Then, we have the meltdowns! After the weekend at the cabin, it really hit home that the end was coming fast and the closer it got the more I was unsure that this is what was supposed to be happening. There definitely is something in that mountain air that makes life more pleasant because when we are up there, life is nicer and so is DH! Although a little uncomfortable, we really had fun together. Then we get back home and the same old sh-t! BUT, the eternal optimist in me starts thinking, if it CAN be nice than that must mean we should be able to work it out somehow. BUT, my family has made it very clear that they do not support my thinking and I felt caught in the middle and felt like no matter what I did, I was betraying some one. The best way to put it was it was like being on an endless roller coaster ride inside of a pressure cooker and I was physically and emotionally falling apart. Not eating (okay, maybe that isn't such a bad thing as my spreading hips will attest to), not sleeping, throwing up, my hands shaking so bad I dropped everything, my BP sky high, pain tolerance at an all time low, irritable beyond belief...you get the picture! Finally, a family member did something that just crossed the line and got the lawyers involved and I got my Irish up and just blew! As I was talking to my lawyer, he said, "It sounds like you are wavering. And from the way you sound, I really don't think that you are in any state to make any final decisions. Take a couple of days, calm down and call me as to whether you want me to proceed or ask for a continuance."

Now, I am normally very much the people pleaser putting what I want on the back burner while I make sure EVERYONE else is happy. Been that way my entire life which is too damn long! I sat down with the "family" and told them that this is not what I wanted, that I wanted to see if DH and I could work some things out. Not looking for an immediate solution here but I want that option without everyone putting their two cents in and they could either support me in my decision or not, I really didn't care but that I was going to follow my heart and do what I wanted for maybe the first time in my life. Would love to tell you that my "stand" was applauded by everyone but I can't BUT I think I got my point across and it has been "calmer" and "less intrusive" and much quieter without all the unsolicited opinions been thrown at me.

Then it was time to take the same stand with DH! He was feeling the same as I was...not wanting the divorce but he also realizes that he needs to get his life in order before we can have a life together. We talked for about 5 hours and it was a good talk or maybe I should say a good 'listen' for both of us. So we are going to take baby steps and see where it leads. He is still in his own place and will stay there until we both agree that we have cleaned out our closets of all the BS and dysfunctional behavior, mine and, of course (LOL), mostly his!

My lawyer is now convinced that I am certifiable but, God bless him, he is supporting me and still counseling me as to protecting myself if things should not work out. He really is like the anti-lawyer and not at all like the lawyer jokes!

The kids are happy and I feel like a weight has been lifted. Not giddy like a school girl but cautiously optimistic. So, say a prayer for us and if you see my DH, give him a little kick in the butt to get going! He really is a great guy with a huge heart...just a little more baggage that is so very hard for him to deal with.

So that is it in a nutshell...sorry to have bent your ears for so long but I thought I owed you some explanation. I really have not had designing in my heart lately and hopefully, now things will be better. Gotta tell you that I really don't know what I was thinking when I decided to do a wedding kit with all this going on! LOL! Of all things....just pour salt in the wounds!

I am not even sure what I have on my computer for kits right now because I just almost didn't care. Tomorrow I will go through and see what is ready and get something posted, pick the wedding winner and, generally get back to business!

I am back...

to reality.....damn!!! Got home late last night and was tuckered out so I just answered a few emails and went to bed.

Good time although a bit strained since hubby decided to go to the cabin for the holiday weekend also! So my plan for getting away so that I didn't have to think about anything went down the tubes but it was still nice. I thought he was just going up for one day to do some fishing....didn't know he was going up for the whole weekend! LOL!

Hit a few tag sales and went to our favorite plant lady and bought some new plants. But the best part??? I was eaten alive by the gnats! Forgot completely to start taking my Vitamin B1 so I wouldn't get bit since I have a terrible reaction to them and mosquitoes so I blew up like a balloon and ended up being "stoned" on Benadryl for most of the weekend! Since it has been colder than usual, I didn't even think about them. I usually start taking B1 when the weather gets warmer and the gnats and skeeters start getting active. I don't know why it works but it does so if any of you have a bad reaction to those bites, give it a try. Must make you smell nasty to them!

So glad the weather was nice! Did ya'll have a good weekend? Thank you so much for all the Birthday Wishes and Happy Birthday to all of you other Gemini babies! We are a wonderful lot, aren't we? No matter which twin you are talking to!

This month has just flown by! I wish I could say that I have accomplished a whole lot but, alas, nope! The days have just gone by!

Before I get into the business at hand...

I realize that this is not the same blog that it was month's ago. I am not as chatty and upbeat, sometimes it seems longer between kits. I just want to say that I really do appreciate the overwhelming majority of you that have been understanding and patient. This divorce, the closer it gets to being final, has taken more out of me than I thought it would and there are some days that melt downs come without any notice and then other days that I wouldn't dare blog what I was thinking since every other word would have to be censored! The private emails that you have sent with just a "heh...you okay?" mean so much even if I don't get them answered. There are some days that I cannot even force myself to dress before noon and get on this computer at all! Some days, I think, I am okay, I will be strong and get through this! Then some little bas---d comes and pulls that rug out from underneath my feet and I am flat on my face again. The next month should be "interesting" and I am thanking you in advance for your continued patience!

Okay! Weddings!!! There have been about 7 of you that have entered and I will give you until after the Holiday weekend to see if anymore come in and then I'll pick. This should be fun!

Okay! Birthdays!!! MINE! LOL! My birthday is on Memorial Day and to celebrate I am going to the cabin for a l-o-n-g weekend! I will be leaving Saturday and coming home sometime Tuesday or Wednesday. ...so I have been trying to think of something to get a collective flow of creative juices going!

Remember the quickpage exchange we did awhile back? So many of you submitted so many wonderful pages and it was so much fun! So I was thinking, May is almost over and that brings us to June, and that is the month of brides and weddings. It was suggested by a few of you that you would like to see a wedding kit so here's the scoop...if there are any brides to be out there that are getting married this year, send me an email. In the email include your colors, the date of the happy event and, also, please include a copy of your invitation or at the very least, your full name and your fiance's name....not that the whole kit will be personalized but I would like to include something special for you! Now, this can be a member getting married or a daughter, or granddaughter....sound like fun? I hope we have some "brides-to-be" out there! This would be a great way to get lots of pages to do a nice wedding scrap! I am sure that even if you don't have a wedding to scrap, members will be sure to find some nice pages that they can use! All eligible brides will have their names put in a hat and the name will be drawn randomly and that will determine the colors used in the kit.

So, come on! Anyone tying the knot? Taking the plunge? Let me know! Gotta do something to liven it up around here!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! My kids took me out to dinner and we had a great time. With their schedules, we don't very ofter get the time to sit down together and spend any real time catching up with each other.

Started the therapy for my shoulder.....since it isn't hurting after getting the shot of cortisone, it seems a little tedious to have to go for therapy but I will behave and do what the doctor orders! Nurses (and retired nurses) make the worst patients! LOL!

So, I won't be around much tomorrow since I have therapy and then am taking my mother and aunt out for a belated Mother's Day!

OH! and there have been some comments about some of you waiting for me to open up memberships again???? They are open....just click Membership Information up there at the top and you can still join for April/May/June. I will open up the 6 month memberships sometime in June!

This has been an up and down week...mentally and physically! Decided to do some exercising...and my body said, "oh, no, she didn't!" with a z-snap of it's fingers and decided to teach me a lesson by making every muscle and joint hurt like hell! Okay...so I don't do anything slow...I decided to be like Denise Austin and go for the burn! And, I thought I was doing pretty good until the next day when I looked more like Granny Clampett walking around! So for a couple of days...breathing hurt! LOL!

Mentally...more of the same...one day up, the next day down! Or sometimes minute by minute! Same old, same old! Ugh!

But, I was cleaning out a closet and came across the kids baby's books and such. And, with Mother's Day approaching, it just got me thinking about the day my kid's were born, especially my daughter since she was my first. Who knew that amount of love could instantly overflow from my heart? And, all those doubts about being a mother could vanish so quickly and I just knew that, although I might make mistakes, I would do everything in my power to protect this little life in my arms. And, when my son came along, it amazed me that a heart could hold that much love all over again! And, even though just seconds old, the love was equal to the love I had for his sister. That love did not have to grow...it just WAS. Like it had always been there.

My kids are adults now and don't need me much for protection and their lives are too busy for me to be hugging at them like when they were little but every once in awhile, sometimes just for a brief moment, that flood of love comes over me the same as the day they were born. Sometimes when they have been disappointed or hurt, that urge to protect and make it better is almost overwhelming. And, then there are those times when they have accomplished a goal and I find myself bursting with pride. But mostly, when I see them being kind and caring and I think, I did okay...despite the mistakes along the way, I must have done some things right! Yes, I miss those days when I could hold them on my lap, when they "needed" me, when they thought I was the smartest person in the world because I could make a "boo-boo" better but then I look at the adults they have become and I am proud! Proud of the people they have become...loving, kind, thoughtful, honest...everything I could and did hope for for them. THEY are my presents on Mother's Day...these two wonderful people who call me MOM!

I have had this little kit done for some time and had forgotten about it. It was inspired by my daughter's 'coming home' outfit...I hope you enjoy!

The Weekend Update....

Well, another moving day! That's what they get for being such pack rats! Too much to move in one weekend! LOL!

Thank you all that responded about the Lyrica! It is good to know that this "drowsiness" wears off! Now if my insurance pays for it, I'll be golden, I hope! $236.00! Are they out of their minds??? I about dropped my teeth when they told me how much it was. Hopefully since I have tried almost every other med known to man, they will agree that maybe this should be covered!

Well, May is a busy month for me! My Mom's birthday, my birthday, my sister-in-law's birthday, Mother's Day, one of my good friend's birthday, Memorial Day.... My brother is arranging a dinner for the 6th and he says it is to cover everything!! Smart boy! So there will be 10 of us going out to dinner which should be a good time.

I finally went and got my arm checked out. Yippee!!!! He doesn't think I will need surgery! He shot it full of cortisone and I have to go for therapy for a month to get the socket back in alignment. He thinks I must have jammed it by either falling or catching myself from falling, which may be true. I am NOT the most graceful person in the world! I am just so happy not to have to go through a rotator cuff repair again! Yep! Shoulda taken better care of myself when I was younger!

My DD has a new exercise routine! Hula Hooping! Her friend saw on TV that it was a great exercise even if you can't do it very well since the bending down to pick it up is like doing squats. Of course, the amount of laughing that you do also burns calories! I never could do it when I was a kid and still can't do it! I'll tell you...it is quite a work out if you do it for 30 minutes! She is sweating and huffing and puffing when she is done!

She actually got her boyfriend to try it last night and then was mad since he could do it (although I have to admit he looked like Forrest Gump while he was! Jenny, Jenny...I AM hula-ing!!!)

I am so glad that you all liked Mother's Keepsakes! That was one of those kits where I liked it but didn't know if it would be something you all liked. Wish I was more talented to add more "keepsakes"! Oh, how I loved to look in the drawer! That and watching my mother get ready to go out with my father! Watching her put on her make-up, do her nails...and the smell of her perfume! It all seemed so magical and I just couldn't wait until I was old enough for make-up! LOL! Now it seems like such a chore to get all gussied up!!!

I may go up to the cabin tomorrow for Sunday and Monday. Depends on the weather..if it is not going to be nice out, I might as well stay home. But, I am going through "paradise" withdrawals! So nice to have someplace to hide out that isn't a long way away and don't have to go through too much to get there! Just snatch your toothbrush and go since I have clothes and stuff up there already!

I will let you know if I go so if you email me and don't get a response right away you will know why!

I have been busy...really! I posted a few more things to the Shoppe ....the January Kit package is now available (it includes It's a Snow Day, Emily, Working 9-5, Sweet Thing and Winter's Softer Side) and I also posted Skool Dayz, Blue Latte, and Twinkle, Twinkle. No easy feat since I was started on a new medication for the fibro (Lyrica) and I know it says that drowsiness is one of the side effects but, lordy, this is ridiculous! If I sit, I fall asleep! LOL! I was in bed by 8:30 last night and I am a night owl!! And, I actually got in a little snooze waiting in the doctor's office today! I am hoping that this is one of those side effects that you get used to because if not, this med is not going to last long! So far, no pain relief but he said you have to build it up in your system for about a month before seeing any benefit....if I can only stay awake for that long!

And, what is up with this weather???? I turned the heat off weeks ago but had to break down and turn it back on today! I just could not get warm! I was about ready to get back in my car and drive around some more with that heater but my brain got tired thinking about which would cost less, the gas for the car or the gas for the furnace!

Since tomorrow looks like another "out of the house running here and there day" I thought I would post May's first kit tonight.

I remember when I was a little girl, my Mom had a drawer that I loved to sneak into. She had such neat stuff there...she called them her Keepsakes. At that age, everything there seemed almost "secret" and I remember how I felt when I found something of mine in that drawer! So for Mother's Day...here is Mother's Keepsakes. I hope you enjoy!

Cleaning up some emails today....

Grandmajak sent an update on Daxton along with LO's of this little "chunk o' love"! She also made QP's of these Lo's which I have uploaded to the Members QP section so make sure you grab them! (link is over there>>>>) What a cutie! He is doing well but may still have a rough time of it as he grows. Continued prayers for him!

We have a NEW Member and I think she must be our youngest at age 15! Angel sent me these tags as a way of saying thank you! She has only been using PSP for 6 months! Watch out! I think we have a real budding designer in out midst! Great work, Angel! And, I will say again...your emails bring a smile to my old puss! So sweet!! Thank you for sharing and I think we will be seeing more of her shares in the future!!

Well, as for me, today is moving day for my son. Although, at the moment he is still asleep since he worked until 3AM! Thank you all for the emails and comments, his moving out is difficult but as they say 'the greatest gift you can give your kids is wings!" He is just such a funny kid and makes me laugh. But, I am sure with the way he loves to eat, he will not be a stranger! He is taking his cat, Lola, with him and I will miss her. Somehow I think she knows since she has been more affectionate the past couple of days which is really not her nature. Some of you know but some of the newer readers didn't understand when I said both "my men" were moving out. DH is also moved out since I had filed for divorce and that is the biggest source of the emotional roller coaster. I am sure that some of you understand...not a great situation for any one to be going through. But, we are parting as friendly as possible..probably friendlier than we have been in a long time! Which adds more bumps in the roller coaster! LOL! We even went out for dinner on our anniversary on Wednesday....my daughter and I planned to go out and then I thought he was probably not having the best day either so we invited him to join us. I know, I know...my lawyer thinks I am nuts also! I guess he is not used to "pleasant" clients but I feel life is too short to be nasty about this, no one will be better off if it is nasty and I rather remember the good times and part friends. Just hope the lawyers don't screw that up!

Ah, well, this to shall pass and brighter days are coming! Maybe I will take Officer Goodbody out of storage, dust him off and live in my fantasy world for a bit! It is nice there and everyone there thinks I am wonderful!! LMAO!

I am sorry about not being on much lately. Things here are very tough with both 'men' moving out. I go from being a blubbering fool to angry to numb and then, it all starts again. I haven't had migraines in years and now they are back! I would love for Calgon to take me away but, seriously, I don't think there is a box big enough!

When I get upset, I clean! Well, somethings you can't get clean enough so then I think about painting and then you paint and the next section looks dirty so you keep painting but being slightly ADHD I can't seem to get one project finished before I am thinking about something else. So, that is what I have been doing...cleaning, painting, crying, throwing out, trying to hold it together and not doing well at any of it! LOL! Think I am going to put all my prized possessions in a bandanna, tie it in a knot to a stick, sling in over my shoulder and run away! Can't think of any place I can afford to run away to though! LOL! Well, if you see an old lady walking on the side of the road that looks lost...pick her up, it might be me!

Since it is the men in my life that are causing all this upheaval, here is a kit for them!

New Kit

Be careful what you ask for! I have been asking for some piece and quiet and to not have to cook and today NO ONE is home and I am starting to talk to the walls! OF course, that doesn't mean that they won't all descend later and ask "What's to eat?" LOL! But, I did get a few flower beds cleaned out before it started to rain so I feel good about that. (well, until tomorrow when I will be remembering all too well those muscles in my legs and butt!) Got lots of daffodils already in bloom and lots of tulips about ready to pop. Love this time of year!

DS is apartment hunting....not quite sure how I feel about that. Lord knows, I will not miss the mess but I do love cooking for that kid! With him working 2nd shift, I really don't see much of him since he is still working so much overtime that he is sleeping most of the time he isn't working. Miss him...he can always make you smile even when you want to kill him! DD's social calendar is just crammed so she isn't around very much either.....think I need a hobby!

I do have a new kit for you. Last we had Tango d'Mango and now we have Funky al Fresco....aren't we getting so international?!?!? I don't know why but these colors just reminded me of dining al fresco...no explaining how my mind works sometimes. LOL! At any rate, since I made my new header from it, I thought I would make it the next kit!

To answer some questions...yes, it was the same person that hit Anita. She WAS a member and she has been removed. Personally, I don't think she is the only one that is doing this so I suspect I will still find Members kits been redistributed. But, designers are banding together and keeping their eyes open not just for their own kits but for other designer's. It is wrong, it is theft and if you want to have proof that it is just click on the Stop Piracy button on the side bar and read. Jen has compiled lots of information about piracy and it is punishable.

A couple of you have suggested shortening the time kits are available, changing passwords more often and I suppose that would cut down on link sharing but what most are doing is downloading the kits and re-uploading to RapidShare. I hate the thought of creating more confusion for members since we all lead such busy lifes. So, we will continue as we have and deal with each day as it comes.

As far as putting her name up...boy, do I ever want to put up the whole list of everyone I have reported! But, I am a little afraid of the repercussions. I do not want to be hit with tons of spam or whatever. I know other blogs have started to do this but I guess I am a little softy. I will however, give her name and any email addresses I have to any designers who are having a piracy issue if you email me.

Thank you all for your support, notes and patience. As I have told many of you 99.9% of you are honest. I will not waste anymore time verbalizing what I think of these people as I think I have made it abundantly clear that they are not worth the time or the effort to try to make them into moral people. Their day will come and I will be standing on the 'good' side of the pearly gates laughing my butt off! Do I hear an AMEN?

Kicking the garbage to the side.....I have done some housecleaning at 4Shared also....just a cleaning fool! I have put all the quickpages that members have sent in in one file. One of our members is going through a very difficult time and I am asking you to add her to your prayer lists. Jeni lost her niece, Brianna on April 4th from a train accident and she and her whole family are devastated. From Jeni, "Brianna was an angel. She was 2 weeks away from high school graduation and planning a career working with animals. She was bright and so very beautiful. She would light up a room when she entered. I will miss her so very much. I'm not sure how we can go on without her." I have blocked the last name for privacy but, please, take a moment to say a prayer for this beautiful young lady and her family.

Yep! AGAIN! But, this time the culprit was caught! The same person did the same to Anita and another designer.I am waiting to hear their response and then I will decide whether or not to post their name. Please be patient but the password for April/May/June will have to be reset. I will begin to start emailing them out today but it will take a few days to get it to everyone. I apologize for the inconvenience and confusion...I am certainly not looking forward to the emails from readers that are confused or for the unneccesary hours that it will take to clear up this mess! That is time taken away from me, my life, my family, and designing! These thieves steal so much more than just the files!

Time for some clean-up! December Kits will be taken down tomorrow so any members from that time, if you need them download them! Also, time to try to clean up some files and get them into the shoppe so I will be working on that! And, trying to finish up and package some of the linger-ers on my hard drive and get them packed up and ready to go...in general, all the things I dislike doing! Anyone want to volunteer to come to my house and do some computer spring cleaning? LOL!

IMPORTANT....if you are joining and you want the password sent to a different address than the one you used through PayPal, you MUST send me an email....how else am I going to know???? Please read the information on the Membership page carefully...eliminates so many headaches for both you and me. And, again, 6 Month Members were sent their passwords in the original email so if you saved it, you already have it but if you don't let me know. Thanks!

With that said, I thought since I might get so wrapped up with tidying up the place that I would post the next kit for you so you don't go through withdrawals! Can you tell I am stretching for names???? Lordy, I do not know how some designers seem to come up with some great names for kits??? I can stare at it for hours and still not come up with anything! I think I am going to start calling them Kit #1, Kit#2, etc! But, this did remind me of a Mango and it is kind of fiesta-like and somehow that lead to Tango and I thought Mango Tango but then I wanted to get fancy so, finally Tango d'Mango! April 1st! That means nice weather, right? Well, it is rainy and damp so I guess Mother Nature is playing her own April Fools joke on us!

DD picked up her new car last night! She got a new Jetta which is so nice! Of course she has some nice payments to go along with it but she is thrilled! All the bells and whistles.

She threw her boyfriend a surprise party on Sunday and he was totally surprised! I was quite proud of her since she did a real nice job at organizing it. We had a nice dinner of grilled salmon and all the trimmings for 8 people and although she didn't do much of the cooking, but she did play a great hostess!

DS has a birthday coming up next weekend and I am not sure what we are doing! Guess I am not as organized as my daughter! He had mentioned going to Rhode Island so everything is up in the air. I guess at their age, having birthday cake and candles is not the biggie!

I have a new kit for you to kick off the new month and I promised you something pretty...Here is Blueberries and Cream! Soft and creamy with blueberries or not!

I will be closing the 3 Month membership for JAN/FEB/MAR tomorrow as well as the 6 Month Membership. You will still be able to join if you are not already a member but your membership will cover APRIL/MAY/JUNE.

6 Month Memberships will be available again in July. Many of you are re-subbing (yippee!) and it is just getting confusing so guess it is time to turn the page! This year does seem to be speeding by, doesn't it? Good thing is that warmer weather is right around the corner...well, at least I hope so! Our yard is like a mud slide with all the rain we have had and maybe this year the bulbs will know what season it is and bloom at the right time! Ha! Funny how when you can't get out there and do yard work you miss it and then when it is warm enough to do it, it seems like work!

I have to go get my 'bionics' reprogrammed today...I have been on these programs for too long, I think, and they are not working on the pain the way that they should. I have to admit that I have been remiss about taking care of it with all that has been going on so I have no one to blame but myself. Missed my last appointment so you can be sure I will be there today!

Now, I do have a new kit for you. Seems like we are a car buying family lately with my son and daughter (she is in the throes of looking and buying now before her car poops out) so that was the inspiration for this. Mostly for your teen buys or your older men that still consider their cars 'their babies'! This is CONCRETE JUNGLE...

I am home! Had a great weekend but came home thoroughly exhausted last night and did no more than what I absolutely had to do and went to bed! At one point we had 11 people and 8 dogs in the cabin and although it sounds crowded, it was fun! All the dogs got along, for the most part, great even though some of them were meeting for the first time under somewhat chaotic conditions! Not the most recommended way to introduce dogs to one another but it all worked out! Easter dinner was great with TONS of food and EVERYONE had a good time (if you catch my drift)! I did miss not having my daughter with us but she had a wonderful time on her weekend away. She took her "main man" on a Wine Tasting Weekend to a couple of local wineries for his birthday, so everyone had a good Holiday weekend! Now, it is back to the weekday drudgery of getting back to work, laundry and recovery!

Came home to tons of emails which I am trying to get caught up on. I am sorry that some of you felt like I was ignoring you by not answering you over the weekend but I did tell you that I was going to be away! Heh...even I get some playtime, right? Contrary to popular belief, I do not live at my computer! Sounds like some of you are still having trouble with 4 shared...I have downloaded all the files that you have complained about and had no problem downloading them or unzipping them. I also forwarded the 'problem" links to a friend of mine that sometimes checks things like this for me and she didn't have a problem getting the files. Another reader is looking for a kit for babies that has frogs...just last week a really cute kit came through one of the groups I get shares from that had frogs in it and for the life of me, I can't remember who it was from. I didn't download it since I really don't download much anymore but it was cute! If anyone knows what I am talking about could you please let me know so I could post the link to the designers blog? Cute little frogs and pink flowers....do not send me a direct link to the file...a link to her blog is what I am looking for...wish I could remember who designed it!

I am trying to get my house in order since I will be going up to the cabin for Easter, hopefully will get an early start out of here tomorrow. Just can't find it in me to do a family dinner here so my "puppy" friend talked me into going...yea, she really had to twist my arm! DD is going away for the weekend with her guy to celebrate his birthday and DS thinks he will be working overtime but if not he knows where the cabin is and where the food will be! DH is also invited which is fine with me, these are his friends also and I do not want to ever come between that.

PamW...thanks for the heads up about 4Shared...I suppose since it for appreciation for all that the creative teams do, we can deal with it! LOL! Those teams really do put out some spectacular work! I hope whatever 4Shared problem is that they get it handled soon. I really do like them for file sharing but maybe they have just been overloaded.

Not much else...have quite a few kits in the final stages and just have to get them packed up...a job that I really dislike doing so I tend to put it off...previews, trying to balance out file sizes, uploading...yuck! Some of you have asked for the kits to be all one file...again, there are many of the readers that are still on dial up and the larger files are almost impossible for them to download. With the kits, the shoppe, etc. I am running 3 4Shared accounts now and to upload the kits twice, once broken up and one complete is just too much space and time. Hope you all understand but I really have to think about the whole group and what works for everyone.

There were a couple of you that wrote about scrapping 12x12 and said that you would let me know how the 8x8 kits printed out once you upsized...anyone print out anything yet? I am curious to know since then I will have a definitive answer when asked. I print out 8x8 since that is the only size I can. Some day, when I am rich and famous, I will have a supercharge computer and a huge printer...then I can do it all! LOL...not holding my breath!

I spoke to Anita this morning and asked about her address. She is shocked that people would want to send cards and was a bit overwhelmed and very touched by the number of comments that have been left for her on her blog. She is doing as well as can be expected, I think. Unfortunately, I think the tougher days are still to come.

As far as 4Shared lately.......AAAARRRGGGHHH! I don't know what their problem is. I always thought that they were the most user friendly but lately... I have emailed them but as yet have not heard anything. I even tried to upgrade my account to see it that solved the problem and it just freezes up on me. Guess they don't want my money! Some of you are getting through, some not. For right now, please keep trying maybe they will get it figured out soon.

As some of you already know, our dear friend, Anita is in need of our love and prayers. Her husband, Jerry, passed away after having an abdominal aorta surgery. Please stop by her blog and leave her a message. Words really cannot take away the pain of suffering the loss of loved one but knowing that so many care and are thinking of you at a time like this can, maybe, lessen the loneliness. It really hit me when I read her email just how much "on-line friends" that you have never met become such a big part of your lives. Anita, I love you and my heart is breaking for you at this time. My dear friend, my thoughts, prayers and love to you and your family during this very difficult and sad time.

Please note....Quite few of you have asked for Anita's address...I hesitate giving it out without her permission but I have asked her. I am sure that she has more on her plate right now than reading emails so it might be some time before I get an answer...but, I will let you know.

Gina...I had to laugh when I read your comment on the C-Box! I have thought about doing that for some time and just have not had the nerve. But, you know, if it happens again I will put up the list that I have! It is aggravating that the file share sites will not give you any info about the person that uploaded it because they have to PROTECT their identity! Ain't that something?
